The BEST way to live - learn to be alone and happy : the right company will then find you.
Believe me for this truth is everything. Learn what YOU like to do, do it, love it, and love yourself FIRST. and then you can walk through the world with confidence and be complete in yourself. You'll grow into your skin, and be your beautiful whole.

I've lived by myself now for close to a year now. I moved to a city hundreds of miles away from my family and friends, and I haven't had much success in making or maintaining relationships outside of my job. Currently I am dealing with overwhelming loneliness, but watching this is strangely comforting. I find it inspiring to see other people living well by their lonesome, and it makes me want to take more steps to improve my situation. Gosh, that is some self love right there, taking care of yourself enough to make dinner for to make every night. I want to do more stuff like this to take care of myself.

Making a little time to prepare your own food, meditating, and of course speaking with old friends and family is so important I cant stress it enough. ♡

0:43 Prepare veggies (like garlic, peppers, onions, etc) and freeze them in stainless steel containers. They can last a month.
2:15 Use a silicone board because they're easier to clean.
2:35 Freeze meat wrapped in parchment paper (easier to take out) in silicone containers. Small portions can be frozen for stew.
4:00 Don't wash rice too much (so it won't lose a lot of nutrients)
4:17 Wrap freshly cooked rice (while it's still hot) in parchment paper. Freeze after cooling.
5:12 The first time you use a new pan, boil water and vinegar with it (after washing with detergent).
5:57 Coat the whole surface of the pan with cooking could about 3 times.
6:33 Silicone and wooden utensils don't scratch the pan.
7:11 Boil silicone containers with baking soda to prevent stickiness and for sanitation.
8:02 When making soup broth packets save time.
10:51 Heat baking soda and water in the microwave and wipe the inside to clean it.
11:20 Use one brand for all your tableware because they can fit into each other and save space. It's also aesthetic.
12:07 Bloopers. Silicone containers get really hot in the microwave be careful.

    • @kyisoo
      @kyisoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +146

pastel9 I’ve noticed the same thing too and I’m very well aware of the marketing strategy being done... however my insight on this is I like its convenience and not only because it is used by Korean youtubers (probably one of the factors but doesn’t take up much of it). I’m a student who lives alone and I like convenience and simple things. A simple design and detachable handles make big difference in my storage cause I have very limited cabinets in my small kitchen. I like how the pots and pans are very flexible too and not having to buy separate pots and pans for different purposes. Although you may have different thoughts and opinions about this as you may have different living condition as I have :)

But since I’m at the grocery and there’s ready to eat food there like fried chicken wings or roasted whole chicken, I pick one up too. I get home, tired from grocery shopping and end up eating the wings or roasted chicken. So the ingredients I bought for the meal I really wanted to make and eat end up in the fridge for another day. I have another tip -- for using parchment paper to wrap things. Often, when you tear the paper off the roll, it won't lie flat, it just keeps curling up and making the wrapping proceedure difficult (to say the least). The trick is to take the piece of parchment and scrunch it up into a ball (not too tightly thought, doing that can cause breaks in the paper) and then un-scrunching it to lay flat. Just smooth it out and it should be quite easy to work with. No more fighting with the rolling up syndrome, lol. Happy Cooking to All !

This is brilliant, thank you. I live alone and agree how useful the freezer is! I freeze herbs in bags or small pots but never thought to freeze garlic! I also rarely cook one portion of something (freezing the other portions in Ikea plastic boxes) for lunches or dinners during busy times or when ill. The silicone is a good idea but a lot of things I cook (soup, dal, lentil bolognaise or chilli for example) can be taken straight out of the freezer, run under a warm tap for a minute in the box then popped in a pan on v low heat to defrost and heat through (I don't have a microwave). I also freeze cooked tofu as I don't always want it for several meals in a row, so cook it on it's own then freeze to add to curries, stir fries etc. I keep bread in the freezer too as I don't eat it every day. My nana used to buy extra butter when the one she liked was on special, and freeze it! You can freeze just about anything :D

Watching this video makes me wish I could still live alone at times. I really like that metal and silicone container, for freezing, and using parchment paper, which I have started to use often in place of plastic too. I've been trying to figure out how to separate meat because often times, I have to think about how the meats will fit but watching this video has made me see more organization options. I used to cook a lot of meals beforehand for myself and store away to eat for the week, but now our small fridge is always stocked to the rim, it makes it hard to organize often. My boyfriend is a picky eater too, so I can't always make a big batch of food anymore, because the fridge and freezer is completely full of meals I will need to make for the month. And if he won't eat them, I have to try to finish it all myself. Sometimes, that gets to be difficult. He's also a slob (despite how much I love him and all he does for me); I am cleaning and cooking for 2 in the house, despite paying my share of the rent and groceries... When I used to live by myself, everything was much more easier to manage because I'm only picking up after me. Ah... the nostalgia and ease of being single.
