I've owned my Warp X for almost two years now and I've loved every single day with it.
Great to see some more light shed on this awesome amp! It's seriously amazing.

the warp X sounds great with that triamp feel and a different affect on the reactiveness . ialways went to my pod pro after playing my solid warp 7 stack, favoring the pod pro because icould contour outside the parameters for the models of amps pushing drive and lowering gain it had a tube amp feel and sound with extra unlike a solid just lacked the even order harmonics and girth and width of tone in the speakers, sounded combed in the frequencies then subtract all the even order harmonics its more combed. So its hard to get a solid state really thickened up in any register but is nice and tight and focused in the bass, if you ask me ishall build an amp with multiple solid states and even order harmonics then put through a tube power section also shall add tube preamps and combine them all in one single amp with multiple 12 ins and multiple 12 outs.

Have you ever tried Core Blade, I've been thinking of getting some 6l6Gc power tubes and was wondering how it would sound? I ran it into my Two notes Torpedo Live and then ran the effect send which defeated the audio signal but not the load box feature to see how the 6l6 tubes sounded. I actually kind of liked the 6l6 el34 combo together. I think the CoreBlade it might have been based on one of the channels as their flagship. Ever Tried the CB?

Can't tell if your camera mic is clipping due to the amp is cranked on the volume. or if the amp is actually a fuzzy sounding amp.

I'm late to the party, but I'm REALLY digging the neck position lead sound. I'd recommend a Dual Rec and I've picked them up as cheap as 650, but average 900 to 1000. But overall, I'm really digging this amp. May pick one up to add to the studio. As always, you sound good! Keep it up! Oh... bet that strat would sound good on the clean side of that amp.

I had a Mesa Boogie V-twin (pedal) in front of mine. Was killer man. Wish I tried it in the FX Loop, but oh well.

In the preamps I use 12at7 in that head to make the sound bigger. 12ax7 I feel like make that head a little to compressed. But I fucking love that thing.
Hey Eric have you ever messed with the old Crate bv120h heads? I picked one up a few months ago for my band and it kicks ass for the price i paid for it!!!
played one before crates not my style tho my bestfriend likes it

I have a H&K Tubemeister Deluxe 20 ...even still have stock tubes ...kicks freakin ass!! Where it's made doesn't make you play or sound better?
I bought one of these brand new in circa 2005. I think they came out in 2004, give or take a year or two. The first version was the Warp 7 which was solid state. The second version was called the Warp T (tubes). Then the Warp X. The Warp T and X are the same exact amp. The only difference is the cosmetics. The Warp T has expanded metal face while the X has plexi glass face. Same controls and everything. I liked the amp on it's own but a Peavey 5150(6505) will bury that amp in a live mix and I do use a bit of mids. I know from experience. I also had the Warp 7 solid state version before it. The Warp 7 would get buried by a hard hitting drummer.
That's why I love Peavey's. Very affordable on the used market, and for heavy music. Peavey's are used way more then any other Brand, and not only because they're very reliable, but also Peavey's delivery that brutal tone.
I have never heard a Peavey 5150/6505 get tones anywhere as good as a Warp X tbh
I can tell you, this amp is badass. The sub switch makes it perfect for bands with only 1 guitar player.
You have to be careful with treble and presence settings. I keep them pretty low, like JCM 800s.

I actually found one of these used for 350€ :^) I checked out this video to see a sound demo and I gotta say the quality of this amp just doesn't cut it trough youtube. It's a fucking beast for sure.

@@variklane7032 Im from a small country where people dont really know hwo to research their gear :^) I was able to get a Peavy 6505+ for 300€, an orsnge rockerverb for 800 and a dual rectifier for 800 aswell :D

Eric Shreds yea but a 1960 vintage has different speakers and a different tone. They have Marshalls version of vintage 30s which are pretty much the same, but has a little more mids.

Other good ones to check out from Hughes and Kettner would be the Duotone and the Trilogy. The Duotone especially is literally two channels from the Triamp.
Yes the Duotone is the channel 2 A n B gain on the Tri amp i believe friend owned one,! not sure on Triogy if i played one yet
The Duotone weighs more than the Triamp MKII though.
Trilogy sound like shit...but the clean was good!
My problem with HK is...i never liked the Overdrive/Distortion sound. In over 25 years of playing guitar all HKs i tried and heard i disliked. But there is a great piece of gear they make, the Tube Factor. It is a great pedal u should try out. Greetings

I'll stick to my Mark V. I remember when these came out. I'd love to try one out of interest. an old friend of mine had a warp 7 combo. I didn't like the tone. A mode 4 sounds way better.

Eric Shreds Yea it's a great amp the lead tones are to die for seriously awesome. it's also brutal. I boost it with a mesa grid slammer and just removes the boomy sound but is also great with out it. the least favourite it the Mark 1 mode. I'd love to hear your opinion on it. I can suggest some settings if you have any issues. but I'm sure you will figure it out. Keep up the good work man
The Warp T came out in late 90's/early 2000's...Warp X came out in mid 2000's. I bought one new in 2005. Great amp.

They also had an amp called the Trilogy that came out in the same time period. That was a great amp too. Wish I still had my Warp X!

Often the result of improper usage and just slamming the gain... much better off to gently gain-stack a comp/couple of O.Ds into the amp just on the verge of breakup and pushing it into fat, lumpy chunky heavy goodness, much richer and no fizz...
I still can't find this head for sell. If anyone has one. I'll buy it for $900

I owned one of these and stupidly sold it. Nearly impossible to buy one here in the UK now it seems. Lovely amp. Regret getting rid of it.

Sounds incredibly thin for a hand-made tube amp... maybe it's just the recording, if not, consider changing the tubes (they may be there since the 90's...!).
oh beleive me i had to but the bass at only 9 its way to thick to come out in my camera haha so thats one me :)
