      Well, sometimes he's testing amps and he gets this amazing kickass metal tone but then he keeps tweaking and tweaking and that amazing tone is gone, it's gotten muddy or fizzy or whatever. In all fairness, i love Ola's videos cause he tests a lotta new gear that might go unnoticed cause music stores can't carry every brand and he friggin rips on guitar.

    In the 90s I had a H&K amp called ATS 120 (IIRC). From what I can tell via my iPad, it sounded not too different from this. It was great in the bedroom, but there was not much left in a band context. It might have just been me failing to dial it in properly, but I wasn’t the only one who tried.

  • @Lieutenant_Dude
    @Lieutenant_Dude ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One of the biggest things I've noticed, the cabs and speakers make the sound. You need to invest in either a good combo or a good cab. A 4x12 packed with Greenbacks or V30s will be heavy AF. You just need a halfway decent amp. I'd argue you could gig with one of these if you have a good cab and mic.

  • @jul_blank_552
    @jul_blank_552 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You know I was thinking about a smaller head for playing at home. So the amps that came in my mind were the spirit of metal and the orange micro dark. I played both in my local store and damn the micro dark was much better in my opinion. You can get more tones out of it and it's cheaper to. The spirit of vintage is great I think but I don't like the metal that much. I love h&k but yeah.

The best part was when I actually started playing and how their looks went from laughing too surprised that it could actually sound good 😂 it definitely was not loud enough to fill the entire venue but, once we put a mic to it and ran it through the monitors it sounded massive!

    @Ola Englund Hey men !!
    the smallest head which sends the big sound is at Hotone nano legacy,
    I recommend the "Heart Attack" rectifier, and / or "Captain Sunset" SLO.
    They have an effects loop, you can put an EQ in it to fine tune it and you can also send the preamp part directly to the power amp of the big tube head.

    It's currently just over €200 in Europe, and it's pretty impressive in terms of size and output.
    But it has too much limitations on controls and sound...
    The 'sagging' could be replaced with a tone contour that lets you dial in the right mids.
    For my money I'd rather save up a bit more and probably go for a small Marshall head.

      @@revylokesh1783 I have a mki as well, Honestly I’d have to tribute my love of them to Carl bell and fuel. I’ll tell you right now if you ever find a MKii rotosphere on reverb grab it!!! It’s worth every penny I promise you. I live in the states and had to order it from a guy in the netherlands. I’d do it 100x over.
