I have bought 4 of the original Smartshunts and had a problem with the power cable sockets with one of them. The sockets weren't always grabbing the wires correctly. The unit was exchanged for a replacement with no issues. Also it is easy to dislodge the data cable by accident. For these reasons alone I would always buy the new version in the future. These are great products and like the other Victron hardware with accompanying software, stand out as market leaders.
The IP65 one looks a bit more modern I think but good to know they are technically pretty much identical and as you say unless you need to mount it somewhere which is likely to get wet probably doesn’t make much different / think if I bought another one I would go for the ip65 one though. Hope you have a lovely Christmas and New year - all the best, David 👍
Can you please test the Bluetooth range and post a result in a comment here?
You should test if they fixed the bluetooth. The old one had terrible Bt range.

ip1 for me, don't like the cables permanently attached, bit of a mess.
