Ahhh good old days,back then i didn't know how to upgrade my GREAT SWORD so i kept fighting Kut-ku with an iron great sword with nothing but red sharpness,that was 10 years ago,i really miss Kokoto
That thing gave me so many rage moments... but once you passed it... still one of my favorite monsters of all times. I hope we'll get it back in World in some update...
I remember when generations came out. Everyone I talked to that had it chose Pokke village as their home. No one else chose Kokoto village. Not me...I rest my gear in that little house to the right in Kokoto Village, forever.
I literally cried listening to this, as I was remembering my brother who passed away in 2007. One of his favorite games was the original Monster Hunter on the PS2, and he put alot of time into the game.This song brings back good memories of my brother, and I will listen to this song multiple times a year now, because of this experience of hearing it again. I still remember to this day, the first time he beat the Rathian, he unlock the Rathian Life video in extras. He was so excited that he left a note on our TV saying to watch the video, and how to get to the video. We were so proud of him, that when he got back we gave him a big hug. Because of hearing this i will also watch said video multiple times a year. :')

From slaying a single yian kut ku to slaying the great rathalos. This wasn't a game, it was an experience. Up till today i've still yet to find anything that can come close to giving me the same satisfaction, feeling and experience this game has given me.
I even got the shit beaten out of me by a mere Bullfango when I first played MHF. Looking back, I can't really comprehend how I managed to take 5 minutes for a Bullfango wtf.

Ya know, I lost a memory card that had my first MH character. Alot of hours, but MH has always been a game that I never mind starting from scratch just because it always fun. I'm always happy when I hear that it's still popular in Japan just because that means we'll get another one.
This is the place where I was born as a hunter.. Where Tigrex, Narga, Gore Magala, Jhen Mohran, Valstrax and Nergigante were not yet discovered... WHERE IT ALL STARTED.
My favourite thing to do is to go to soundtracks from older monster hunter games and read through veteran's comments. Feels like I really am a young hunter listening to more experienced hunters than me while sitting at a campfire. Never change, veterans. Never change
Here’s my story (Text wall warning ⚠️) My father bought me MH1 way back in 2005 when I was 12. I can still remember getting frustrated on how to work the controls just to move around, to when I beat my first Yian kut kuu. Then one day, me and my father went out to a local diner, and just after I’d finished eating, I’d thought I’d have a crack at trying to face off against Monoblos, and become the “Hero of Kokoto”. My father left the table to go to the toilet or something, but he never came back. Half an hour later, I began to panic that I might never get home. (Didn’t know how to drive) Thankfully, someone called the police about a lost child, and they took me to the station. After going through my birth certificate, they were able to ID me and send me back home. I defeated the Monoblos, but by at that point, it was but a bittersweet victory. My dad was gone, and the stress of everything I went through overwrote my joy of becoming a hero. He’s still missing today after 9 years since I last saw him. This music reminds me of the happy times when he was still with me. I have no idea if my father is now dead or turned in as a slave, but I still miss him. Maybe one day he will be proud that I finally got the hero title. Which is why in every hunt, there’s no point in me holding back. I’m giving it my all, like a man with nothing left to lose and yet everything to gain.
Some people just want to stop existing, in their minds they might think they're doing the right thing. Another form of protecting their child from something or someone.
While this might be the first and oldest game in the series, the music, especially of the village, is just so iconic that it's hard to let go of today. This game was my first Monster Hunter but being younger and unable to handle the difficulty, I could not progress far but the magic and music stayed with me until Freedom Unite was released on the PSP, then Ultimate 3rd, Portable 4 and now World. We couldn't have got this far without this one game, so thank you for everything Monster Hunter!
This is still the best MH village theme. It has that serene, yet dreary atmosphere that isn't really present in any of the others. Maybe, hopefully, someday, we'll have something similar again.
This is up there with what i consider some of the best game music ever composed. It fit the game so well and it immersed you in the adventure. I'm definitely redownloading and playing through again
The memories men... buying this game because of the demo (thank you Devil may cry 3). Starting with the hunter's knife and when the Kut-ku was quite a challenge in that awesome jungle map. First encounter with the Rathalos in the egg hunt! God i miss this game.
t'was the time when khezu, gravios, and diablos were still scary AF and secret urgent quest's monsters which I even didn't know how to unlock them XD and then the final quest was supposed to defeat Rathian and Rathalos in the Swamp which were very difficult due to the time limit :'D God, it brings back so many wonderful memories
As a hunter who started from the first monster hunter game and played nearly every monster hunter game to this date. You bet am excited for MH rise. What an amazing franchise. My entire childhood right here, loved every minute of it

When I became a pro at hunting Rathian and Rathalos on MHF I felt like I was on another dimension than I was before, and that professionalism was then taken to the next other games and I love how I still know when to dodge even if they have a entirely new move.
i remember creating an Eager Clever required me to take "Present For the Armourer" quest hundreds times just to mine a tons of Earth Crystals and Machalite Ores.
I never got to play the first game so Generations was the first time I heard Kokoto Village's theme song. Out of all the other villages, its theme became the most memorable to me. Today, it still brings me a sense of calm and unwind from a stressful and anxiety driven day. I love its new cameo in Iceborne Fatalis' theme!
I'll always remember the day i helped my older brother out by "cleaning" his ps2 in the sink. Memory card and all 1400+ hours of his playthrough.. about 20 years later and I still can't live it down!
This takes me back to my high school days, grinding Monster Hunter on PS2 for parts that sometimes never dropped. It was also my first online game once I discovered the old servers. A shame they're gone now but I'll never forget Powderstone...or Four Horns. To see how far this series has come is a blessing, I look forward to whatever MH: Wilds has in store for all of us Hunters.
Man the memories with this track, back when Kut-Ku bodied me and Plesi hip-checked half a zone First online game I ever committed to, saved and bought a router for my PS2 so I could fight the bigger threats. What a time to play. First Fleet Hunters truly had the best experience growing up with this game.
And how Capcom made this very soundtrack sound abit more cheerful when weve finished the game (after we killed Monoblos, if anybody notices). It has always been a nice touch and i always admire the efforts and details had Capcom put into Monster Hunter series. And thats why im still in love with this series even after 14 years
Ahh, Kokoto. Birthplace of many senior Hunters who either never see the light of today or those old enough to have old habits die hard, like crouch gathering/carving, remembering the claw, instinctually using their right stick to attack but have their camera face down or face up instead, trying to headlock monsters with Lance, using the Greatsword without charging and doing a triple combo with the downward slash, round slash and uppercut slash.
I remeber the first time i unsheath my greatsword and go out to hunt a rathalos. Back then greatsword and longsword were one weapon. No gunlance, no chargeblade, no switch axe. It was the age when human was as old as the dragons themselves. No kitchen to increase your attribute. Back in the day, what Hunters had were only their gears and guts . Thats how it was in our Old World. I was 15 back then in 2005. Now i am 26 yo. And I am proud to call myself a hunter, to this day.
came back here after i saw Monster Hunter Wilds trailer. It has been 17 years since i last touched this game. I still remembered my first Wyvern the Yian Kut-ku, the egg dropping, the first Rathalos. I am proud to say that I was born in Kokoto, raised in Pokke, schooled in Yukumo, and matured in Seliana. While Seliana might have the most complete theme. Yukumo has the most magical theme. Pokke has the most Home-like theme. Kokoto will bomb you with Nostalgia. I as a first gen hunter prays that all of you reading would still be able to hunt at MH Wilds. Happy Hunting!
Having first started playing MH in Spring, 2005.., maaaan -- coming back and listening to this hits me right in the nostalgia feels. Started hunting again in MH4U after a long break from Tri and the game still feels as great as when I first started, if not even better. Can't wait for MHXX!
As someone originating from Kamura, I went back into these older games. It was very hard to get into, but I get it. I totally get it. Cheers, mates. No matter the generation you come from, all of you are great.
Whenever a talk about which gen you started with come up somewhere, always felt this proud moment when I can say that I started from the very beginning. Not the Freedom PSP port, but the absolute start. The original PS2. Call it an old hunter pride however you want, but I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this amazing series and saw it with my own eyes every single new invention to the in game universe as well as the new hunters finally taking arms and stayed for good to teach newer gen what they've learned so far and the cycles repeat itself. I also have a special feeling about the current gen hunters every time new MH come. I really want them to adore this series as much as I do, becoming a true hunter that never tires of this series and become a much better hunter surpassing me and my fellow first gen is something that I'm strangely excited for whatever reason. Monster Hunter is "that" one special series that all people should have, it may not my number one favorite game franchise, but it surely my most beloved and dearly franchise and the only time I'd stopped playing it is when I'm dead and buried and no longer in this world.
I started with Worldborn - loved it, than demolished Risebreak and decided to go thru all of them. I am currently in the middle of MH1, despite clunkiness I love it. After some grind of Yan Kut-ku for screemers i finally beat up Cephalos and now im preparing mentaly for Gypceros - legendary goofy chicken of annoying moves 😅 This theme became very comforting for me, makes me feel at home almost like Astera's theme even tho I dont have that many hours in MH1. Its great ❤
you are (most likely) one of the only few MHW players I heard actually say that you love the old MH games. most of them wouldn't even try them out, least from what I been seeing on sites like Facebook and such. if there are any more people who did what ya did, I'd be glad to be proven wrong. MH Freedom Unite was the most fun I had playing Monster Hunter not gonna lie
@@dragumkirisute1998 i see why many would not enjoy oldest titles. First game had a very slow start with its hunting missions by sending player to multiple tutorial missions, one skill per quest. Grind is hard and small monsters are aggressive as hell. For a hunting game it may often feel like a rage game. I understand why first monhun may be a bad exporience for current players but as i know later titles improve alot and there are some games that can and do find love in hearts of curious newbees. I've exchanged words with few of them here on YT. I like first monhun just like first witcher. Respect it for whats good in it while also seeing everything that is bad and even for me makes it hard to come back and play sometimes. Thats just how old games are :D
I absolutely adore this song, I was introduced to MH in 2014 when was I six and Monster Hunter Freedom (MHG portable) was the first game I played on any console. This song never gets old
Ah the good old days 🥺, me and my uncle used to play this alot alternately with his psp, we have the japanese version so we don’t have any idea about how the game works at the beginning but thankfully the items has images so we eventually figured out the game and beat the whole game! Those memories will be forever in my heart…
This is where it all started.. Where the forefathers of the hunters today brandished their weapons at a rudimentary level - yet they felled everything that came their way. No mighty greatsword charges, no longswords, no switch axes, no shield bashes, no gunlances, no bows, no cats to help in battle; none of that new age modern junk them young'uns call weapons today. No. Back then, real Hunters fought wvyerns toe to toe.. and if they couldn't best a monster, they had friends to call upon!
after hearing this again i felt like i don't want to listen to any other musics anymore.. listening to this feels like Monster Hunter is real and you are in it. I wish I could get a copy of this that will last forever and let my future grand children hear it lol. musics today are nothing but illusions -__-
Brings me back to The Good old Days, when everything felt simple. Just Sitting all day playing Mh. When me and my cousin tried to hunt a Yian Kut-Ku together and failed hard! But then I tried solo and then finally I beat that Bird Brain! That was my most satisfying moment for me!

im very happy that i could play this game.after freedom I played the others for the psp too.But this time with my dear friend and boy how great the journey was.looking forward to the new one for the ps4.we are going on many hunts again just like in the good old times.
God damn, this takes me back, after some grinding on those weekends as a middle schooler, falling into sleep with this music playing was just heaven, the game's now evolved so much, so many quality of life improvement, but alas, nothing could beat those bygone feelings again, that stupid right analog stick combat, the brutal and time consuming grind for material, just to cart so many times lmao. Still having fun playing World, so here's to many more years!!

I still remember that it took me 30+ min to beat a velocidrome back when i start, and i also got my ass handed by a lot of monster.

@@Rigter9029 At that time, I've prepared everything ( Large Barrel, Gunpowder, Large Bombs, pitfall traps, potions, mega potions, honeys, Combo Book set) with my Great Serpentblade (Velociprey GS). and it was 10 secs left after the completion. I've never been so proud in my life!
When I became a pro at hunting Rathian and Rathalos on MHF I felt like I was on another dimension than I was before, and that professionalism was then taken to the next other games and I love how I still know when to dodge even if they have a entirely new move.

I never got to play the first game so Generations was the first time I heard Kokoto Village's theme song. Out of all the other villages, its theme became the most memorable to me. Today, it still brings me a sense of calm and unwind from a stressful and anxiety driven day.
I love its new cameo in Iceborne Fatalis' theme!

I'll always remember the day i helped my older brother out by "cleaning" his ps2 in the sink. Memory card and all 1400+ hours of his playthrough.. about 20 years later and I still can't live it down!

This takes me back to my high school days, grinding Monster Hunter on PS2 for parts that sometimes never dropped. It was also my first online game once I discovered the old servers. A shame they're gone now but I'll never forget Powderstone...or Four Horns. To see how far this series has come is a blessing, I look forward to whatever MH: Wilds has in store for all of us Hunters.

And how Capcom made this very soundtrack sound abit more cheerful when weve finished the game (after we killed Monoblos, if anybody notices). It has always been a nice touch and i always admire the efforts and details had Capcom put into Monster Hunter series. And thats why im still in love with this series even after 14 years
Ahh, Kokoto. Birthplace of many senior Hunters who either never see the light of today or those old enough to have old habits die hard, like crouch gathering/carving, remembering the claw, instinctually using their right stick to attack but have their camera face down or face up instead, trying to headlock monsters with Lance, using the Greatsword without charging and doing a triple combo with the downward slash, round slash and uppercut slash.
I remeber the first time i unsheath my greatsword and go out to hunt a rathalos. Back then greatsword and longsword were one weapon. No gunlance, no chargeblade, no switch axe. It was the age when human was as old as the dragons themselves. No kitchen to increase your attribute. Back in the day, what Hunters had were only their gears and guts . Thats how it was in our Old World. I was 15 back then in 2005. Now i am 26 yo. And I am proud to call myself a hunter, to this day.

came back here after i saw Monster Hunter Wilds trailer. It has been 17 years since i last touched this game. I still remembered my first Wyvern the Yian Kut-ku, the egg dropping, the first Rathalos.
I am proud to say that I was born in Kokoto, raised in Pokke, schooled in Yukumo, and matured in Seliana.
While Seliana might have the most complete theme.
Yukumo has the most magical theme.
Pokke has the most Home-like theme.
Kokoto will bomb you with Nostalgia.

Having first started playing MH in Spring, 2005.., maaaan -- coming back and listening to this hits me right in the nostalgia feels. Started hunting again in MH4U after a long break from Tri and the game still feels as great as when I first started, if not even better. Can't wait for MHXX!

Whenever a talk about which gen you started with come up somewhere, always felt this proud moment when I can say that I started from the very beginning. Not the Freedom PSP port, but the absolute start. The original PS2.
Call it an old hunter pride however you want, but I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this amazing series and saw it with my own eyes every single new invention to the in game universe as well as the new hunters finally taking arms and stayed for good to teach newer gen what they've learned so far and the cycles repeat itself.
I also have a special feeling about the current gen hunters every time new MH come. I really want them to adore this series as much as I do, becoming a true hunter that never tires of this series and become a much better hunter surpassing me and my fellow first gen is something that I'm strangely excited for whatever reason.
Monster Hunter is "that" one special series that all people should have, it may not my number one favorite game franchise, but it surely my most beloved and dearly franchise and the only time I'd stopped playing it is when I'm dead and buried and no longer in this world.
I started with Worldborn - loved it, than demolished Risebreak and decided to go thru all of them. I am currently in the middle of MH1, despite clunkiness I love it. After some grind of Yan Kut-ku for screemers i finally beat up Cephalos and now im preparing mentaly for Gypceros - legendary goofy chicken of annoying moves 😅
This theme became very comforting for me, makes me feel at home almost like Astera's theme even tho I dont have that many hours in MH1. Its great ❤

@@dragumkirisute1998 i see why many would not enjoy oldest titles. First game had a very slow start with its hunting missions by sending player to multiple tutorial missions, one skill per quest. Grind is hard and small monsters are aggressive as hell. For a hunting game it may often feel like a rage game. I understand why first monhun may be a bad exporience for current players but as i know later titles improve alot and there are some games that can and do find love in hearts of curious newbees. I've exchanged words with few of them here on YT.
I like first monhun just like first witcher. Respect it for whats good in it while also seeing everything that is bad and even for me makes it hard to come back and play sometimes. Thats just how old games are :D

I absolutely adore this song, I was introduced to MH in 2014 when was I six and Monster Hunter Freedom (MHG portable) was the first game I played on any console. This song never gets old
Ah the good old days 🥺, me and my uncle used to play this alot alternately with his psp, we have the japanese version so we don’t have any idea about how the game works at the beginning but thankfully the items has images so we eventually figured out the game and beat the whole game! Those memories will be forever in my heart…

Brings me back to The Good old Days, when everything felt simple. Just Sitting all day playing Mh. When me and my cousin tried to hunt a Yian Kut-Ku together and failed hard! But then I tried solo and then finally I beat that Bird Brain! That was my most satisfying moment for me!

im very happy that i could play this game.after freedom I played the others for the psp too.But this time with my dear friend and boy how great the journey was.looking forward to the new one for the ps4.we are going on many hunts again just like in the good old times.
God damn, this takes me back, after some grinding on those weekends as a middle schooler, falling into sleep with this music playing was just heaven, the game's now evolved so much, so many quality of life improvement, but alas, nothing could beat those bygone feelings again, that stupid right analog stick combat, the brutal and time consuming grind for material, just to cart so many times lmao. Still having fun playing World, so here's to many more years!!
