Fun Fact, with glitches, it’s actually possible to beat the entire game without collecting a single ring.
Although chaos emeralds are impossible. I know somebody was gonna catch that. Obviously you can’t get the emeralds.

3:51 Probably in level design it is a normal hack though they should make some of the rings removed(the one that are inpossible to dodge) just so you can complete it.

Well, you know what they say! Anything's a killer if it's thrown fast enough!
With the use of the Level Select code, I was able to access the credits and found out something funny. When Sonic inevitably touches a ring and dies during the gameplay demos, the credits carry on, making the music go out of sync with the credits.
All of the glitches are because of the hack itself instead of the hardware, so with that said, does Sonic 1 Attack of the Killer Rings work on real hardware?

You may already know this since you've worked on hacks in the past, but the special stage likely crashes due to a death mechanic not being implemented into the special stages.

I can't believe it's not red rings!
I think I know why the game crashes in the special stages. This is not exactly a main stage. All main stages have the death animation, but the special stages don't. Most likely you will be warped to the main stages with or without the Chaos Emerald. Since the original game and the hack do not have the death animation in the special stages, it will be most likely to crash instantly.

And I thought the Rings in Sonic 2 XL can make you extra thicc and give you a heart attack. What if those Rings give an extra more thicc-ness to make heart attack more noticeable and quicker and at the same time dip it in some chemical X Sauce. 3:06 You shouldn't touch that checkpoint when there's rings right on top of it. If you die, you will respawn that checkpoint and you will get softlocked which means you will die over and over until you reset the game so never touch that checkpoint

And as a result, the game crashes because of it.
