Will TH-cam become TikTok? TH-cam Shorts Updates
A few hours ago, TH-cam announced some new features.
And they have to do with TH-cam Shorts.
In October 15th, it will be possible to create vertical short videos of up to 3 minutes long.
Videos that are vertical and up to three minutes long will be transformed into TH-cam Shorts.
Your uploads after October 15th that are up to 3 minutes long and square or taller in aspect ratio will be treated as Shorts.
I created a video that I haven't posted yet about Facebook and this video will probably be approximately 8 minutes long.
But most of my videos are short.
They are short but they are not TH-cam Shorts.
My videos are in 16:9 so, at least in theory, they will not be affected.
This is because I usually make concise tutorials that get straight to the point.
The intention of my videos for the
most part is to help people as quickly as possible.
But my videos are not TH-cam Shorts.
In my humble opinion, TH-cam Shorts videos do not convert viewers to practically anything.
They make no sense to me.
I have the impression that there is a TikTokzation of TH-cam.
TH-cam is ceasing to be a platform for long videos and becoming a TikTok.
If this continues, and if by chance my videos are transformed into TH-cam Shorts, I will have to stop publishing my videos here and look for another platform.
I even thought about making several tutorials in the same video, but it won't be worth it.
Because I make precise videos where people get the content they are looking for in the simplest and clearest way possible.
At least, as much as I can.
I didn't like this new feature on TH-cam and another new feature that in my opinion will also be bad is the new Community.
It seems like a kind of Facebook with Twitter (X).
I'm finding all of this very confusing and would like to know your opinion in the comments.
For me, what TH-cam is doing is a huge mistake.
I'm still recording videos for this month and the next month, but if TH-cam transforms my videos into TH-cam Shorts, I'll have to stop this channel or at least change my niche.
And I really like computer tutorials.
I have a degree in computer science.
Computer science is one of my passions in life.
And I think it is a big mistake to…
make a to mix with long and the short videos…
