Nature Journal Week 2 - How to create a bark rubbing

Earth Day is every day at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. In celebration of Earth Day we are presenting a 5-part series on creating a nature journal to help you get outside and connect with nature.
You should have everything you need at home: a journal, pencil or colored pencils, and a favorite sitting spot. Personalizing the nature journal is a great way to make it your own and getting kids excited.
Week 2: Feel the bark
*Watch the video about exploring tree bark with your sense of touch
*Find a favorite spot
*Record day, temperature, weather conditions, and other details that help you remember this moment
*Walk around to several trees and feel the bark.
*Compare and contrast the bark of different trees and make a bark rubbing
