When emilias first trial aired on TV Tappei tweeted out that Emilias mother is human and Emilias father is a full elf. So there isn’t any half elf + half elf shenanigans. This has been confirmed by Tappei.
I have a theory that maybe emilia is a clone of satella and made to be a vessel to bring her back. Since we don’t know how old Fortuna is, she could actually be the aunt of satella and all that talk about how emilia has the eyes of her brother could just be her treating emilia like how she treated satella. Emilia could be a clone made back in the days but was unfrozen/unsealed recently(100 years ago) by the witch’s cult in preparation to bring satella back but was saved by fortuna and the elf village which decided to raise her,. This can kind of explain geuse’s emotions towards emilia and why geuse doesn’t feel that he has the rights to see her cuz of guilt and why she was always kept locked up in her princess room. This could also explain echidna’s obsession with clones and hatred for both satella and emilia. Also clones are often referred to being daughter/sons of the original in some anime and in real life because they are birthed from the DNA of the original.
There is an anime called astro lost in space about something similar happening SPOILERS - - - - - Where a bunch of teens that finds out that they are perfect DNA clones of their parents that got sent into space to die as a coverup after their originals almost got busted for illegal cloning. They found out that they were intentionally groomed to have their consciousness overwritten so that their originals can relive their primes eternally. Although they are completely identical to their parents they weren’t the same person due to the different environment they grew up in that shaped who they were although they occasionally showed the same quirks and internets their originals did.

It translates to "Emilia's parents are half-elf, her father an elf and her mother a human. Mother Fortuna is her father's sister, which means she is her aunt in a relationship sense, but she hated being called that." Pretty sure Satella is a half-elf, so I don't think she is the mother.

Most people don't talk about them cuz they skip to subaru's next chapter instead of reading Emilia's present and future trial. I don't think any re zero youtuber has made a video specifically about this.

Satella's father was probably Fortuna's bother (a full blooded elf) and Minerva's daughter. Emilia is probably a Satella clone from Echidna and Puck was probably her actual elven dad turned to a spirit.

I feel like puck was fortuna's brother. Think about it , puck says that he is a father to emilia and also calls emilia his daugther. Puck also mention that he once had a "handsome face" and that he wasn't always like this. Its just a theory.

@@flugel3562 The only thing that makes that theory a bit..weird..is the fact Puck had apparently been created WAY before Fortuna died. He was created 300 or so years before Emilia was even born and I kinda doubt timetravel was in play here. My guess is that Echidna simply learned what was going to happen to Emilia through the real book and wanted to help her...either because she is the mother (doubt it) or because one of her friends is Emilia's mother.

I'm guessing you haven't read Volume 15 cuz in the Tea Party after the third trial when Emilia met Minerva, she at first was afraid because of her Witch Presence, but when Minerva screamed at her to go forward, Emilia felt a Warm Feeling of Nostalgia. Also, Minerva talked like she knew Fortuna.
In the anime.Echidna stated that she is a virgin. (S2/EP8). +When Emilia met minerva in season 2, Minerva cried when emilia stated that fortuna is her real mother.
That is physically and biologically impossible, because Subaru is a human. Emilias dad was an elve, so Subaru can't be the dad. But Minerva being the mom makes pretty good sense actually. Since Emilia has a lot of similar personality traits in the beginning of the series.
7:20 If they wanted to go the Satella route, it could be revealed that Emilia's father is Fortuna's half-brother. Two precisely 50% half-elves would have a precisely 50% half-elf child.
And the genetics don't add up either and it'd be out of luck, assuming the "elf gene" is based upon one gene. You'd have 25% chance of emilia being a full elf, 50% chance her being a half elf and 25% chance of her being human. Then again, as Jakez said, Tappei confirmed that her mother is human and her father is an elf so there's no reason to argue over genetics.
Remember how Beatrice was waiting for 400 years for "the one" that never existed? Puck could easily be searching for Emilia before she was even born. It was also mentioned that Puck has lost some of his memories when he made a contract with Emilia. Also lets not forget that Echidna detests both Emilia and Satella (for whatever reason). So her calling her witch spawn might only relate to Emilia's looks. Besides, she comments on Emilia's traits like some jealous bitch even though they meet for the first time. Apparently Echidna doesn't care who Emilia is, and just vents her frustration on her.

Considering it feels too obvious for it to be Satella, I think there is a strong chance Minerva is Emilia’s mother. I don’t know how, but if Minerva’s remains are in the seal, it would make sense given that Emilia’s father and Fortuna were protecting it. We also have to remember that the seal is otherworldly, so it could, very possibly warp time in some sense, or could possibly be a gate to Echidna’s world. The latter could actually make some sense given that Pandora wants to open it. (Note: End of the World doesn’t necessarily imply directly Satella, but instead could imply the destructive power of ALL the witches).
Also, if Minerva is Emilia's mother, its quite possible that Puck is her father. Puck could be an elf back then, who failed to watch over his own daughter, and so he asks Echidna if she would allow him to watch over her, even from a distance. Puck is also 400 years old or more, which means he was there when Emilia was born, according to this theory. This would explain why when Emilia unfroze, his first line was "I'm sorry I left you alone" and why he hesitated to say his name when Emilia asked him, and also why he's so protective of her

I am still gonna bet that Echinda is her mom. Like you said, if all the Echinda(s) are different from each other then, the Echinda in the trial that said she knows Emilia's mom was more likely referring to the original Echinda. We know original Echinda cares about half breeds since it was one of the reasons why she constructed the Sanctuary. Also we know original Echinda has a history of trying to help humanity and failing to reach a conclusion that saves all. It would make sense Echinda in the trial would hate her other "self" for the path she took to the end. Emilia also has that "I want to save others and bring equality to all races" thing going on for her.
I'd say Minerva, mainly because she showed genuine love to Emilia. She also hugged her like a mother would hug their child. Enchidna seems to hate her for some reason, my guess would be because she is jealous that she lost Subaru to her.

Something I just realized while doing a rewatch of Season 2, her mother HAS to be human. The reason why is because of our knowledge of the Sanctuary and Frederica. Remember, Frederica is a quarter-blood beast-human, while Garfiel was a half-blood. Frederica could leave the Sanctuary because she wasn’t a full half-blood, but Garfiel can’t. Emilia, on the other hand, can’t leave the sanctuary because she is a “full half-blood” per the fact that she passed out once they crossed the barrier. Given that we know her father is an elf, then her mother HAS to be a human and not a half-elf. If her mother was a half-elf, like we were initially led on to believe, then she wouldn’t be confined to the barriers of the Sanctuary in Arc 4. Now, something else I would like to note. After having done some research, I don’t think Minerva is Emilia’s mother anymore, but she is definitely related to her. By that, I mean she may be her Aunt. After Minerva died, there is a chance that her witch factor was given to her sister. In turn, that would make her sister a witch, and possibly the mother of Emilia. In turn, that truly does make Emilia the daughter of a witch. Remember, Tappei does have a way of giving us red herrings, and Minerva being Emilia’s mother might be one of them. But Howard, that still doesn’t answer the fact that Minerva died 400 years ago, over 280 years before Emilia. And you would be correct, but we must remember Pandora has a way to manipulate our memories and perception of time. Additionally, there is the whole door in the forest that we don’t have answers to. Something tells me that the answer behind that door is strongly related to Emilia’s mother. How Tappei can connect those dots is beyond me, but I think it is closer to reality than what our current guesses are so far.
This could also explain Echidna's rather hostile way of talking to Emilia while still creating a powerful allie to keep her safe in puck and helping her grow from her past. It seems so weird she would be so helpful yet hostile to the girl...unless ofcourse her mother have to be someone she cared about, I believe Echidna blames Emilia for her friend's death. Minerva died because she wanted to save the elfs most likely because her child was there and Echidna just can't get past the pain of losing her friend and are choosing to blame Emilia. It would explain a lot of her interactions with Emilia. The reason she scolds her for being such a bad child is because she finds it annoying to see the child that in her eyes killed her friend be such a brat. She cries when she sees Emilia's greatest wish because she hates how Minerva gets completly replaced by Fortuna and it pains her to see that the one that her friend gave her life to doesn't even know it and thereby doesnt appreciate it.
That last part is really interesting, I wondered why she was crying at that point it didn't make sense. With your theory it does. Also why Minerva hugged Emilia, that seems to have puzzled everyone but it would make sense if it was her mother.
Fun fact, in RPG, a Half Elf is one which don't have full Elf lineage. So a quarter or a 3-quarter is still considered as a Half Elf. Also, genetic can be quite funny: a Half Elf and an Elf can technically give birth to a full Elf as well as a Half Elf (and everything in between).
In RPG yes, but not in Re:Zero. This is indirectly proven in Arc 4 with the Sanctuary. Remember, Frederica is a quarter-blooded beast, so she could leave the Sanctuary while Garfiel couldn’t. And also remember, Emilia passed out at the barrier, and this only happens to full half-bloods. Given that we know Emilia’s father is an elf (at least we strongly speculate this to be the case), then Emilia’s mother has to be a human.

I think Minerva is the most sensible answer when it's looked at this way, but I still think Emilia is a clone of Satella created by Echidna, so her biological mother would be whoever Satella's mother was, but depending on how it is looked at by different people, Echidna could be seen as her mother for creating her (much as she is Beatrice's mother), or Satella could be seen as her mother for being the person she is a clone of. This means that when different characters talk about her mother, they may not actually be referring to the same person... But, yeah, if I'm way off with my crack Emilia theory then it's probably Minerva! Nice vid as always!
I may one day branch into an emilia clone theory, I do think it's feasible considering emilia was able to place her hand on the monolith at the top of the tower and it matched with the "print" there - which was most likely satella's.
Minerva (at least in the Anime) also doesn't want Emilia to see her, maybe because Emilia would've noticed that she is her Mother. That leaves one Question open, who is Satella and why does she look exactly like Emilia. Maybe Emilia had/has a Sister which is Satella.
Doesn't reading someone's book of the dead show the persons entire life? He read Minerva's disn't he? If so, wouldn't he have seen that Minerva gave birth to Emilia then? If he did see that then why wouldn't he at least bring it up in his mind? It's like he never once saw it. I guess the books don't show the entire life then.
I think she is Echidnas sister, it’s highly likely that Echidnas mom was a witch, they’re are a lot of similarities between Emilia and echidna mainly that they both have silver hair

The Author already confirmed that Echidna's mother was a Witch and when Echidna was born, her mother died making Echidna the next holder of the Witch Factor and becoming the only Witch out of the 7 to be born a Witch and not turn into one later in her life like the others.
What I think is that Minerva is Emelia's mom and also Satella's mom bc roswal says that Emelia shares a lineage with the witch of envy but never says that she is her mother so that means she is related somehow so the most logical option would be a twin sister or an older sister and Sattella wouldn't b her mom bc she's also a half elf which also supports my theory bc Satella and Emelia are both half elves
From what i know in the light novel arc 4,Emilia's white hair gene is inherited from her father,but from what we know in the anime,Satella's hair is white, I think it's related to Emilia but not her mother

That is a possibility. However we know from roswaals book that the book of wisdom doesn’t take into account the finer details of things, just the overall events.
Puck says he was "wandering for three centuries" he doesn't say he was searcing for Emilia during all that time, merely that he ceased wandering once he found Emilia. It is possible that he wasn't searching for her at all, and found her by sheer accident, but once he did he decided to stay with her. Of course it is also possible Echidna instructed him to find her, even before Emilia was born since Echidna had ways of fortelling future events and a habit of giving open ended instructions like this to her spirits. Possibly even that Puck was instructed to find her some time into his wanderings, through an event, a gospel/tome of wisdom, or a meeting with someone who had access to one. The fact is that Tappei has deliberatly not told us about how and why Puck found her, so that's probably an important spoiler for something he has planned further down the line. Either way I'm inclinded to belive that the Emilia is 100 odd, not 400 odd years old. If she were 400 odd years old then the witches cult might not even have existed during her infant years - yet they play a prominent part in Emilia's young life with the attack on the forest, the downfall of Juice and it just doesn't feel to me like these events were happening immediatly following the sealing of the witch of envy/death of the other witches. One thing to consider when trying to work out who Emilia's parents are, is that she is a Royal candidate. Exactly how is one qualified to become a royal candidate, is it royal blood? Seems so in Felt's case. It may also be the case with Priscilla and Krusch who both come from old noble families which might have some shared lineage with the Lugunican line as in a feudal system its common for lesser royals to marry into other royal families as political ties and into prominent noble families to reinforce loyalty. Not sure about Anastasia or Emilia but its not impossible that they have royal blood. Ultimatley we dont know enough about the selection of the candidates to be sure, but i think it's an interesting theory that they all may have a shared lineage to at least some extent

Hold up. So Emilia was froze at age 15 for 100 years, making her 115, but then she was physically age up 3 to 4 years so that makes her biologically 18 or 19, even though she has the mentality of a 15/16 year old. Wicked.
I've red WN but didn't know that in LN its Minerva that speaks to Emilia is there much different dialog ? Besides, If Emilia is Minerva daughter and Echidna is on best terms with Minerva, than why is Echidna so mean to her daughter like she cant stand her?
Remember Tappei sees Castle of Dreams Echidna and grave Echidna as two separate people. I'm the light novel, grave Echidna is sported to be "kinder" by Roswaal and Beatrice, and not as wicked as Castle of Dreams Echidna (although it would have to be grave Echidna that left Beatrice for 400 years, so I'm not sure on the credibility of that). Then again, Castle of Dreams Echidna doesn't seem to care about Beatrice at all, so that may show to stand that Castle of Dreams Echidna is completely disconnected from grave Echidna in terms of familial connections.
If Mineva is really Emilia's mother that could mean she's a Lugunican Princess and makes me wonder if Beatrice is an artificial spirit based on Minerva. Look how Beatrice has a little crown on her head like the Lugunica Royalty. I wonder since Puck is based a humanoid, (perhaps Emilia's dad) and notice how Beatrice loves Puck a lot. Oh, and also, like Minerva, Beatrice hates people dying before her eyes, see how she helps the people from dying after the fight between Sirius(wrath) and Regulus(greed).
I’d like to point out that usually in fictions 3/4 elf are considered half elf, or to be more precise, half elf is the group of humanoids that share an elven Bloodline without it being 100% pure. This means that Satella is not out of the picture yet
If so then Emilia could have escaped the Sanctuary and wouldn't have the qualifications for the trial. S2 EP7 addressed this with Frederica being able to leave the Sanctuary by having only 1/4 beastkin blood.

And we know that it only does it to half bloods since Garfiel is capable of passing through the barrier without feeling anything. And Ryuzu in the WN even mentioned this the first loop in which Subaru first went back to the mansion and got killed that she couldn't go any further and wasn't feeling well due to the barrier and walked back to the sanctuary main area. @@bryangarcia5207 Let's see... my premise is that half elves are all the children of an Elf(or half-elf) with a human/another half-elf/beastkin/another humanoid. in short any humanoid with a % of elven blood. thus Emilia's mother could be an half-elf. you say that this can not be the case because of what we know from arc 4 and here I disagree. 1 Emilia never attempted to escape the barrier so we don't really know how the barrier would affect her, all we know are speculations or possible lies from Garf and Ros. 2 Maybe Ryuzu Meyer being a clone has a weaker resistance to the barrier or maybe she has a different % of elven blood than Emilia, an other case could be that elfs are more affected by the barrier than beastkins ecc.. 3 if Emilia were to have a baby with an other half elf would that baby be precisely 50% elf? Is elven blood more dominant or less than the other lineage? All these things that we don't know for sure could always be used by the author of the story in the future as an explanation to fit the eventual mother reveal. Thus I would not shut off the theory of Satella being the mom simply because she is an half elf.

I think that emilia's mother was a normal witch who met echidna and had a great friendship with her as sisters, and if you notice by the fortune emilia pulled the characteristics of her eyes and hair color the same then emilia pulled these characteristics of her father since they are brothers, the face and personality of the mother, since echidna says that Emilia is foolish as her mother.

I have a suggestion. What if she is in fact more close to 100 years old. After all Echidna can foresee the future at least partially. So who could have been the mother if Minerva is out of the picture? What about Pandora? Then again Pegelguese was 402 upon death according to wiki.
I we are in realm of theories my theory is that Sattela is Emilia twin sister, look we know that at least in case of Echidna witch powers were inheritor so it is rational to assume that older sister get's the power, so it their mother was previous witch then they left Emilia to protect her but took Satella to prepare her to inherit powers. Emilia is a "Teenage" Half-Elf...as in the 60-80 year old Range with her Mom a Human so Emilia's Mom can't be Stella. Her Dad could have a thing for Human though and Stella could be a older Half Sister
I want to say It is biologically possible that Satella is her mother (not that I believe she is). If Emilia's father was a half elf (therefore half brother of Fortuna), then it is possible that Satella and her father could have a half elf girl. It is possible but would be unlikely that if her both parents were to be half elves with silver hair and amethyst eyes. Then they would look like related.
Some other possibilities I can think of: 1. Satella = Emilia’s mother. Both of Emilia’s father and mother are half-elf (Emilia’s father is not necessary full-elf like Fortuna). 2. Satella = Emilia’s sister. They are daughters of a witch. Echidna knew Emilia’s mother via Satella. 3. Emilia = Satella’s clone. Echidna considers Satella as Emilia’s “mother”. Fortuna mentioned who adopted/raised Emilia as her “parent”. 4. Pandora = Emilia’s mother. She turned evil after getting the witch factor, and possibly rejected her past. Hence, Fortuna consider Pandora as “the one who killed Emilia’s mother”.
Personally I think that Satella and Emilia are sisters, the time difference can be explained by the already established 'snow' ability that Emilia has, maybe she was frozen as a baby for example.

It's Minerva. That just makes to much sense with what is shown. Further, with what it learned in Arc 5 about the Artificial Spirit Echidna, I believe Puck is the Artificial Spirit Minerva. As for Emilia being hundreds of years older than stated... No. The logic used to claim that is false. Just because Puck was looking for her for so long does not mean he was specifically looking for her. He could have been tasked with finding someone who fits Emilia's description. But... I do realize, that even then timing does not make sense. The witches including Minerva died like 400 years ago. So Emilia would have to be born then if she was Minerva's daughter. But she was clearly a kid 100 years ago, so... how does that make sense? It does not, as we are still missing a piece of the puzzle. I think Emilia is Satella, and part of the Envy Authority is time travel. She was born, and accessing and losing control of her power, traveled 300 years into the then future. Possibly bringing the entire Elior forest elves with her, as it was suggested they were displaced in some way. Later... Emilia's psychy fractures and splits into Satella and Witch of Envy, before traveling back to 400 years ago.

I had always theorized that Puck was made by Flugel and not Echidna. Flugel creates Geuse who guards Emilia and fails, then creates Puck (which I believe is just a fragment of himself much like the Omega/Fox Echidna discrepancy, which explains Puck and Fox Echinda's memory loss) to guard Emilia. Flugel is definitely in the Emilia/Satella camp more than Echidna is. As for the timeline I think its a misunderstanding, Flugel (who is now Puck) was searching for *Satella* for three centuries (100 years frozen, plus two hundred years of being apart), Emilia is just the *reincarnation* of Satella. Flugel>Geuse>Puck>Subaru all are connected and seem to have the same mission as each other, Flugel shares being from the same world as Subaru and Puck share the same voice ticks as Subaru whenever Subaru dies in a loop (which to me just confirms Flugel Puck and Subaru are the same person). Btw these are all conclusions I came up with by myself, I'm really rusty and haven't really kept up with Re:Zero stuff in a while so I haven't read the latest LN or side story content so feel free to correct me or discuss.

Lowkey I thought: Echidna x mystery man (amethyst eyes, silver hair, elve) had 2 children: - Emilia - Satella This would explain the visual similarities between the two and would also explain why Echidna strangely has the same sentiment for them (hatred). It might also explain why the two posses strong magical abilities/large amounts of mana as does Echidna. Even Fortuna (100+ years ago) is often confused as where Emilia has her ancient words/expressions from which might imply that either Emilia is a lot older or that she would have learnt them from a person (e.g. her mother) that is a lot older. Mutually shared Tonedeathness with Echidna. (on further notes i could also imagine Emilias huge amount of mana being the result of one of Echidnas experiments) (That Echidna has not even one child could be a curveball especially since Echidna is stated to be considered the mother of some spirit that she created. This makes Tappeis answer seem a bit odd. Furthermore this would not rule out that Emilia (and Satella) is a child of hers in a similar manner that spirits are or through an experiment)

Satella might be future Emilia who went into past. From what satella said, subaru sacrificed himself to save her or others and so satella gave him the powers so that he will live no matter what. From what I have learned in some of the TH-camrs which discussed about Re zero, it states their that Beatrice birthday is a spoiler.. I don't why though but is it possible that... Beatrice was created by Echidna in order to lessen up the overflowing mana of Emilia? If so then Emilia might be Minerva's daughter? And Minerva is in best terms with Echidna. When emilias first trial aired on TV Tappei tweeted out that Emilias mother is human and Emilias father is a full elf. So there isn’t any half elf + half elf shenanigans. This has been confirmed by Tappei.
I have a theory that maybe emilia is a clone of satella and made to be a vessel to bring her back. Since we don’t know how old Fortuna is, she could actually be the aunt of satella and all that talk about how emilia has the eyes of her brother could just be her treating emilia like how she treated satella. Emilia could be a clone made back in the days but was unfrozen/unsealed recently(100 years ago) by the witch’s cult in preparation to bring satella back but was saved by fortuna and the elf village which decided to raise her,. This can kind of explain geuse’s emotions towards emilia and why geuse doesn’t feel that he has the rights to see her cuz of guilt and why she was always kept locked up in her princess room. This could also explain echidna’s obsession with clones and hatred for both satella and emilia. Also clones are often referred to being daughter/sons of the original in some anime and in real life because they are birthed from the DNA of the original.

That is physically and biologically impossible, because Subaru is a human. Emilias dad was an elve, so Subaru can't be the dad. But Minerva being the mom makes pretty good sense actually. Since Emilia has a lot of similar personality traits in the beginning of the series.

And the genetics don't add up either and it'd be out of luck, assuming the "elf gene" is based upon one gene. You'd have 25% chance of emilia being a full elf, 50% chance her being a half elf and 25% chance of her being human.
Then again, as Jakez said, Tappei confirmed that her mother is human and her father is an elf so there's no reason to argue over genetics.
Remember how Beatrice was waiting for 400 years for "the one" that never existed? Puck could easily be searching for Emilia before she was even born. It was also mentioned that Puck has lost some of his memories when he made a contract with Emilia.
Also lets not forget that Echidna detests both Emilia and Satella (for whatever reason). So her calling her witch spawn might only relate to Emilia's looks. Besides, she comments on Emilia's traits like some jealous bitch even though they meet for the first time. Apparently Echidna doesn't care who Emilia is, and just vents her frustration on her.

Considering it feels too obvious for it to be Satella, I think there is a strong chance Minerva is Emilia’s mother. I don’t know how, but if Minerva’s remains are in the seal, it would make sense given that Emilia’s father and Fortuna were protecting it.
We also have to remember that the seal is otherworldly, so it could, very possibly warp time in some sense, or could possibly be a gate to Echidna’s world. The latter could actually make some sense given that Pandora wants to open it. (Note: End of the World doesn’t necessarily imply directly Satella, but instead could imply the destructive power of ALL the witches).
Also, if Minerva is Emilia's mother, its quite possible that Puck is her father. Puck could be an elf back then, who failed to watch over his own daughter, and so he asks Echidna if she would allow him to watch over her, even from a distance. Puck is also 400 years old or more, which means he was there when Emilia was born, according to this theory. This would explain why when Emilia unfroze, his first line was "I'm sorry I left you alone" and why he hesitated to say his name when Emilia asked him, and also why he's so protective of her

Like you said, if all the Echinda(s) are different from each other then, the Echinda in the trial that said she knows Emilia's mom was more likely referring to the original Echinda. We know original Echinda cares about half breeds since it was one of the reasons why she constructed the Sanctuary. Also we know original Echinda has a history of trying to help humanity and failing to reach a conclusion that saves all. It would make sense Echinda in the trial would hate her other "self" for the path she took to the end. Emilia also has that "I want to save others and bring equality to all races" thing going on for her.

Something I just realized while doing a rewatch of Season 2, her mother HAS to be human. The reason why is because of our knowledge of the Sanctuary and Frederica. Remember, Frederica is a quarter-blood beast-human, while Garfiel was a half-blood. Frederica could leave the Sanctuary because she wasn’t a full half-blood, but Garfiel can’t. Emilia, on the other hand, can’t leave the sanctuary because she is a “full half-blood” per the fact that she passed out once they crossed the barrier.
Given that we know her father is an elf, then her mother HAS to be a human and not a half-elf. If her mother was a half-elf, like we were initially led on to believe, then she wouldn’t be confined to the barriers of the Sanctuary in Arc 4.
Now, something else I would like to note. After having done some research, I don’t think Minerva is Emilia’s mother anymore, but she is definitely related to her. By that, I mean she may be her Aunt. After Minerva died, there is a chance that her witch factor was given to her sister. In turn, that would make her sister a witch, and possibly the mother of Emilia. In turn, that truly does make Emilia the daughter of a witch. Remember, Tappei does have a way of giving us red herrings, and Minerva being Emilia’s mother might be one of them.
But Howard, that still doesn’t answer the fact that Minerva died 400 years ago, over 280 years before Emilia. And you would be correct, but we must remember Pandora has a way to manipulate our memories and perception of time. Additionally, there is the whole door in the forest that we don’t have answers to. Something tells me that the answer behind that door is strongly related to Emilia’s mother. How Tappei can connect those dots is beyond me, but I think it is closer to reality than what our current guesses are so far.

This could also explain Echidna's rather hostile way of talking to Emilia while still creating a powerful allie to keep her safe in puck and helping her grow from her past.
It seems so weird she would be so helpful yet hostile to the girl...unless ofcourse her mother have to be someone she cared about,
I believe Echidna blames Emilia for her friend's death.
Minerva died because she wanted to save the elfs most likely because her child was there and Echidna just can't get past the pain of losing her friend and are choosing to blame Emilia.
It would explain a lot of her interactions with Emilia. The reason she scolds her for being such a bad child is because she finds it annoying to see the child that in her eyes killed her friend be such a brat.
She cries when she sees Emilia's greatest wish because she hates how Minerva gets completly replaced by Fortuna and it pains her to see that the one that her friend gave her life to doesn't even know it and thereby doesnt appreciate it.
That last part is really interesting, I wondered why she was crying at that point it didn't make sense. With your theory it does. Also why Minerva hugged Emilia, that seems to have puzzled everyone but it would make sense if it was her mother.

Fun fact, in RPG, a Half Elf is one which don't have full Elf lineage. So a quarter or a 3-quarter is still considered as a Half Elf.
Also, genetic can be quite funny: a Half Elf and an Elf can technically give birth to a full Elf as well as a Half Elf (and everything in between).
In RPG yes, but not in Re:Zero. This is indirectly proven in Arc 4 with the Sanctuary. Remember, Frederica is a quarter-blooded beast, so she could leave the Sanctuary while Garfiel couldn’t. And also remember, Emilia passed out at the barrier, and this only happens to full half-bloods. Given that we know Emilia’s father is an elf (at least we strongly speculate this to be the case), then Emilia’s mother has to be a human.

I think Minerva is the most sensible answer when it's looked at this way, but I still think Emilia is a clone of Satella created by Echidna, so her biological mother would be whoever Satella's mother was, but depending on how it is looked at by different people, Echidna could be seen as her mother for creating her (much as she is Beatrice's mother), or Satella could be seen as her mother for being the person she is a clone of. This means that when different characters talk about her mother, they may not actually be referring to the same person... But, yeah, if I'm way off with my crack Emilia theory then it's probably Minerva! Nice vid as always!
I may one day branch into an emilia clone theory, I do think it's feasible considering emilia was able to place her hand on the monolith at the top of the tower and it matched with the "print" there - which was most likely satella's.

That is a possibility. However we know from roswaals book that the book of wisdom doesn’t take into account the finer details of things, just the overall events.
After today’s episode I can see it
Puck says he was "wandering for three centuries" he doesn't say he was searcing for Emilia during all that time, merely that he ceased wandering once he found Emilia. It is possible that he wasn't searching for her at all, and found her by sheer accident, but once he did he decided to stay with her. Of course it is also possible Echidna instructed him to find her, even before Emilia was born since Echidna had ways of fortelling future events and a habit of giving open ended instructions like this to her spirits. Possibly even that Puck was instructed to find her some time into his wanderings, through an event, a gospel/tome of wisdom, or a meeting with someone who had access to one. The fact is that Tappei has deliberatly not told us about how and why Puck found her, so that's probably an important spoiler for something he has planned further down the line.
Either way I'm inclinded to belive that the Emilia is 100 odd, not 400 odd years old. If she were 400 odd years old then the witches cult might not even have existed during her infant years - yet they play a prominent part in Emilia's young life with the attack on the forest, the downfall of Juice and it just doesn't feel to me like these events were happening immediatly following the sealing of the witch of envy/death of the other witches.
One thing to consider when trying to work out who Emilia's parents are, is that she is a Royal candidate. Exactly how is one qualified to become a royal candidate, is it royal blood? Seems so in Felt's case. It may also be the case with Priscilla and Krusch who both come from old noble families which might have some shared lineage with the Lugunican line as in a feudal system its common for lesser royals to marry into other royal families as political ties and into prominent noble families to reinforce loyalty. Not sure about Anastasia or Emilia but its not impossible that they have royal blood. Ultimatley we dont know enough about the selection of the candidates to be sure, but i think it's an interesting theory that they all may have a shared lineage to at least some extent

Remember Tappei sees Castle of Dreams Echidna and grave Echidna as two separate people. I'm the light novel, grave Echidna is sported to be "kinder" by Roswaal and Beatrice, and not as wicked as Castle of Dreams Echidna (although it would have to be grave Echidna that left Beatrice for 400 years, so I'm not sure on the credibility of that). Then again, Castle of Dreams Echidna doesn't seem to care about Beatrice at all, so that may show to stand that Castle of Dreams Echidna is completely disconnected from grave Echidna in terms of familial connections.
If Mineva is really Emilia's mother that could mean she's a Lugunican Princess and makes me wonder if Beatrice is an artificial spirit based on Minerva. Look how Beatrice has a little crown on her head like the Lugunica Royalty. I wonder since Puck is based a humanoid, (perhaps Emilia's dad) and notice how Beatrice loves Puck a lot.

I’d like to point out that usually in fictions 3/4 elf are considered half elf, or to be more precise, half elf is the group of humanoids that share an elven Bloodline without it being 100% pure. This means that Satella is not out of the picture yet
If so then Emilia could have escaped the Sanctuary and wouldn't have the qualifications for the trial. S2 EP7 addressed this with Frederica being able to leave the Sanctuary by having only 1/4 beastkin blood.

And we know that it only does it to half bloods since Garfiel is capable of passing through the barrier without feeling anything. And Ryuzu in the WN even mentioned this the first loop in which Subaru first went back to the mansion and got killed that she couldn't go any further and wasn't feeling well due to the barrier and walked back to the sanctuary main area. my premise is that half elves are all the children of an Elf(or half-elf) with a human/another half-elf/beastkin/another humanoid. in short any humanoid with a % of elven blood. thus Emilia's mother could be an half-elf.
you say that this can not be the case because of what we know from arc 4 and here I disagree.
1 Emilia never attempted to escape the barrier so we don't really know how the barrier would affect her, all we know are speculations or possible lies from Garf and Ros.
2 Maybe Ryuzu Meyer being a clone has a weaker resistance to the barrier or maybe she has a different % of elven blood than Emilia, an other case could be that elfs are more affected by the barrier than beastkins ecc..
3 if Emilia were to have a baby with an other half elf would that baby be precisely 50% elf? Is elven blood more dominant or less than the other lineage?
All these things that we don't know for sure could always be used by the author of the story in the future as an explanation to fit the eventual mother reveal.
Thus I would not shut off the theory of Satella being the mom simply because she is an half elf.

I think that emilia's mother was a normal witch who met echidna and had a great friendship with her as sisters, and if you notice by the fortune emilia pulled the characteristics of her eyes and hair color the same then emilia pulled these characteristics of her father since they are brothers, the face and personality of the mother, since echidna says that Emilia is foolish as her mother.

3. Emilia = Satella’s clone. Echidna considers Satella as Emilia’s “mother”. Fortuna mentioned who adopted/raised Emilia as her “parent”.
4. Pandora = Emilia’s mother. She turned evil after getting the witch factor, and possibly rejected her past. Hence, Fortuna consider Pandora as “the one who killed Emilia’s mother”.

As for Emilia being hundreds of years older than stated... No. The logic used to claim that is false. Just because Puck was looking for her for so long does not mean he was specifically looking for her. He could have been tasked with finding someone who fits Emilia's description.
But... I do realize, that even then timing does not make sense. The witches including Minerva died like 400 years ago. So Emilia would have to be born then if she was Minerva's daughter. But she was clearly a kid 100 years ago, so... how does that make sense? It does not, as we are still missing a piece of the puzzle.
I think Emilia is Satella, and part of the Envy Authority is time travel. She was born, and accessing and losing control of her power, traveled 300 years into the then future. Possibly bringing the entire Elior forest elves with her, as it was suggested they were displaced in some way. Later... Emilia's psychy fractures and splits into Satella and Witch of Envy, before traveling back to 400 years ago.

Re: Typhon, while I don't think Typhon is the mother, I don't think you can assume that the age the witches appear in the tea party is the actual age of the witch. Remember, Emilia couldn't recognize the body in the coffin, with the body looking much older than the Echidna Emilia met in the trials.

Flugel creates Geuse who guards Emilia and fails, then creates Puck (which I believe is just a fragment of himself much like the Omega/Fox Echidna discrepancy, which explains Puck and Fox Echinda's memory loss) to guard Emilia. Flugel is definitely in the Emilia/Satella camp more than Echidna is. As for the timeline I think its a misunderstanding, Flugel (who is now Puck) was searching for *Satella* for three centuries (100 years frozen, plus two hundred years of being apart), Emilia is just the *reincarnation* of Satella. Flugel>Geuse>Puck>Subaru all are connected and seem to have the same mission as each other, Flugel shares being from the same world as Subaru and Puck share the same voice ticks as Subaru whenever Subaru dies in a loop (which to me just confirms Flugel Puck and Subaru are the same person). Btw these are all conclusions I came up with by myself, I'm really rusty and haven't really kept up with Re:Zero stuff in a while so I haven't read the latest LN or side story content so feel free to correct me or discuss.
If this is true, then the seal in elior forest hosts minerva's remains, and she has a history with elfs so it would make sense for it to be with the elfs.
If she is the witch's daughter, then that is why she can open the seal.
If satella is Emilia's mother, then why did satella possessed Emilia said to Subaru in Season 2 part 1 last ep That you save me, You should love yourself, You should come and kill me someday?
Satella cant be Emilia s mother because she s a half elf and Emilia s dad was a full elf. Emilia wouldnt even be able to take the trials if Satella was her mother since it only accepts half-bloods (and Subaru due to Echidna giving him the rights.)
I believe Satella sees someone else in Subaru. She never actually called his name when they met at the tea party.

Echidna x mystery man (amethyst eyes, silver hair, elve) had 2 children:
- Emilia
- Satella
This would explain the visual similarities between the two and would also explain why Echidna strangely has the same sentiment for them (hatred).
It might also explain why the two posses strong magical abilities/large amounts of mana as does Echidna.
Echidna stated that Emilia is as stubborn as her mother and that her mother is part of the reason for her hatred towards Emilia, which might be due to self loathing for whatever reason (and would be a great curveball that i could imagine Tappei pull off).
Echidna could also be described as having a "gentle face" which Emilia could have inherited from her.
It is stated that 2 persons are able to open the seal in elior forest. One is Emilia and the other one yet to be revealed. The 2nd person could therefore be Satella since that would also explain why genetically she would also meet the exact same requirements as Emilia.
Even Fortuna (100+ years ago) is often confused as where Emilia has her ancient words/expressions from which might imply that either Emilia is a lot older or that she would have learnt them from a person (e.g. her mother) that is a lot older.

(That Echidna has not even one child could be a curveball especially since Echidna is stated to be considered the mother of some spirit that she created. This makes Tappeis answer seem a bit odd. Furthermore this would not rule out that Emilia (and Satella) is a child of hers in a similar manner that spirits are or through an experiment)
Anyway would be really intersting who Satellas parents are and actually also who Echidnas mother is (since it is stated she was a witch as well)

Wait, assuming this is true and Minerva is Emilia's mother then that would feed really well into the other common theory of Satella being another version of Emilia!
Remember, Satella is incompatible with the Envy factor which is how the "Witch of Envy" split personality came into existence, perhaps that incompatibility comes from being the biological daughter of Minerva who embodies the sin of Wrath, it would fit well!
Waitwaitwaitwait. We know Emelia looks EXACTLY like Satella. In arc 6 her hand fit perfectly in an impression that was implied to be made by Satella, so it's not just her face.
What if Satella's spirit was sealed away, and Emelia's body was left over? It would make sense for Satella to possess Emelia, since it's her body.
This would make Satella Emelia's metaphorical mother. It would also explain why the fire horse thought Enelia was destined to bring destruction; she's a mind wiped version of Satella. It would also explain why a certain somebody thought Emelia was Satella, despite having known Satella personally
I do think 100% that Emilia and satella are two different people , and I do agree that the whitch of wrath is the perfect candidate for being emilias mother and also agree 100% . but I wonder if the maybe the connection that people think emilia and satella have . Is infact that they could possibly Maybe......but unlikely be siblings and that would explain why they look alike.
Satella might be future Emilia who went into past. From what satella said, subaru sacrificed himself to save her or others and so satella gave him the powers so that he will live no matter what. Echidna said satella's only objective is for subaru to survive. And why would she want to save him if they had never met before.

Beatrice was created by Echidna in order to lessen up the overflowing mana of Emilia?
If so then Emilia might be Minerva's daughter? And Minerva is in best terms with Echidna.
