This was fantastic. I left the institutional church about 10 years ago. I grew closer to God more than ever after this. I do want to caution folks though, even small home groups can carry old traditions and power hungry individuals over into it. But yes, God is doing something for sure all over the world as He calls us out of this corrupt institution. It's so amazing to be a part of this. My sheep hear my voice...

Amen!! I am so thankful to God for the Holy Spirit leading me to this teaching. The Lord pulled me out of the Institutional Church approximately 5 years ago. I have struggled thinking I was in the wrong so I would visit different churches in my area to find that the Holy Spirit in me was showing me more truth about the "church" as I understood it. I have been in prayer, searching and seeking what the Lord is showing me. I now know why the Holy Spirit was calling me out of this false church. Praising God and praying for my brothers and sisters in Christ that are still seeking.

That’s me, I have visited many churches and none of them felt right, everyone of them basically follow a set of practices. No fellowship unless you go early to meet others. I also thought is something wrong with me, why can’t I find a place. Maybe this is the reason why I’m being called out away from the organized, institutional “church”

Picture the Pastor-run gathering: a well-oiled production, where you show up, sit quietly, and listen to one man talk for an hour while you nod along. It's like a performance-everyone's in their seats, the lights are dimmed just right, and the stage is set. You get some music, maybe a few prayers, but all the action happens up front. No spontaneity, no participation, just passive consumption.
The Holy Spirit? Put on standby until next week's show. Want to speak or share? Not unless you're invited. It's a one-man show dressed up as "church," where the crowd is there to watch "worship, not live.. It's less about building community and edifying one another and more about clocking in for your weekly religious duty. Pastor runs the show, the people follow, and we call it "church" - but where's the life, the body, the Spirit-led gathering of the New Testament?

My wife and I just made the decision to leave the institutional church system that we have been in for nearly 35 years (our whole lives). We are going to just have church at home and with family. Please pray for us in this transition. I know we will feel different feelings of doubt, guilt and shame. Facts about what a 501c3 church corporation is by lawful state definition:
The creator of a corporation is the State.
The State is the sole authority and sovereign head over the corporation.
The corporation is subject to the laws of the State which limits its powers.
The corporation has no constitutionally protected rights.
The corporation is an artificial person.
The corporation submits to a State Charter declaring it is a creature of the State.
The corporation is created for the benefit of the public.
The corporation is a State franchise.
The corporation is a privilege granted by the State. So exactly what are these 501c3 churches? They are state government churches created by the state for the public good, but Jesus the Christ is NOT the head of these churches but the state is!

Todays model church says they want to set you free but bind you with their traditions. They use fear to keep people in line and subservient. They say we dont love the world but you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the unbeliever and the so called believer. How do i know this because i have lived through it. Praise the Jesus who brought me out of it. No longer do i have to stand for the man if God, i am a man of God and so are you if you follow Jesus.

Tremendous ! I loved it ! The one thing I would add is that we need to be careful to warn people not to name churches or incorporate them or do a 501 C. In First Corinthians, the apostle Paul pointed out that they were starting to identify themselves as the followers of Paul or of Peter, or Apollos. In doing this they were distinguishing themselves from other believers. Paul rebuked them sharply and called them CARNAL for doing this. The western institutional church has taken this much farther and as a result we have what we see today. People say "I am a member of First Baptist Church" or "I am a member of Grace Community Church" or fill in the blank with another name. This is carnal, unscriptural, and it is also about control. It is THEIR church, NOT the LORD'S church. You can't tell them anything because it is their playhouse and they make the rules, regardless of scripture. This practice also gives honor and praise to something other than Jesus Christ. On Sunday you will hear them go on and on about how wonderful (fill in the blank) church is. It's nauseating. It is worshipping the work of men's hands. There is a word for that. It's called idolatry. We must be careful to NOT fall into the same error in house churches. We must not name them, incorporate them, get 501 C status for them, nor even identify them as "so and so's church". You notice that the epistles don't say "so and so's church" . It says "the church that is IN so and so's house. When we start creating named churches, we are making not only idols, but cliques, sects, division in the body and that is severely chastened in the epistles.

We went to a little old church for 22 faithful years until a narcissist controlling pastor came in who was there 3 years. Pastor was ok to start with until last year when he gave my husband a time frame to change his hours, days or his great paying job so he can make it to every Sunday service. My husband only missed 2 sundays a month. My husband and I ran the sound/video booth. I ran sound and video when my husband wasn’t there. Pastor still wanted husband at church every service. We gave pastor a month time frame to find replacement for us because we’re stepping down and we eventually left that church. Pastor mailed us a letter 5 months later that he took away our membership. 😮 we didn’t join another church or asked to be taken off the roll. Pastor always said at end of every service “ This pastor loves you and there’s nothing you can do about it”. …Yeah right. That’s called love bombing.

This is a weird speculation and I appreciate this forum, but every time I see three or more religious people meet together, there seems to me more room for deception, intimidation and error to be taught even if it is just a mistake by a humble person. It is the mere strength that three people have versus only two people. Of course it's much worse with there are many more religious people meeting together. My most fruitful times have been when I am with only one other believer or faith professing person. It's just an observation from about 45 years of being a believer. What have you experienced when you are in a group?

Fellowshipping is great but we are living in the last days and ther are many hirelings controling the people of God. Jesus is the bridegroom and when He wants something done a certain way His bride out of love should obey Him. It is difficult to assemble if we are not like-minded In Christ alone, and His Words written in red guided by the Holy Spirit, instead the wolves and hirelings have infiltrated the Ecclesia of Christ the builder. I will not betray Him and fellowshipp with people who love false sheperds. And sad thing is They hardly read the Bible. It takes many many hours and dedication to hear God's voice. The Bible interprets itself, sometimes the interpretation may be found in the Old Testament. And reading the verses in its contents in the chapter! Pastors and teachers parrot other leaders instead of reading the Scriptures and letting the Holy Spirit give the spiritual food we need. I do not speak of all leaders but they are few and far between. at that time The believers had to assemle, The Bible was written later they had letters from apostle Paul and other authentic manuscrips. He had to travel from house to house . Most of them were iliterate so they gathered together with one manuscript to learn the Word and read the letters Paul wrote to encourage the saints or rebuke them! I am not sure who read his letter while he was away preaching the gospel and encouraging other communities. I guess there are some who respect Jesus as the Head of the Church,

I'm 34 minutes in and am in total agreement. But, nothing is being said about the the agreement made by the pagan sun worshippers (later to become Roman Catholic Church) and the Christian's on the holy holidays as ordered by Constantine, the emperor of Rome, and Sabbath day being 'Sunday' the first day of the week and a known day of worship of the false idol Ra.

First, I hate the "tithes and offerings". This is to influence many to give more than "required." There were three tithes in the OT. Do they ask for thise tithes or just money?
Second, I see church leaders building their own kingdoms. Sign a covenant for us only, not for the ONE church.
Third, the apostles gave to those in need. Not for the worship band to look and sound perfect or to modernize the church building to appeal to the culture.
Fourth, the poor tend to be last in line when helped by the church.
Fifth, leaders go by favortism and not by fruit and gifts.
Sixth, we serve the church more than minister to God. Bistros, desserts, lattes are now the norm to serve than being Spirit-led.
I believe is using God's name to build themselves up instead of becoming Christlike in obedience and faith.
I hate the spiritual corporation today. That us what American Christianity has become. Self first, then God.

This video is not getting at the root of the problem, although it says many good things. The root of the problem is that Jesus said that anyone who desires to follow after Him must deny himself, take up his cross, and lose his life in this world. This is the foundation that the early Church set in each of their lives BEFORE they set out to be a body of believers. This is the missing foundation, why so many house churches and book of Acts churches that live together continue down a similar path as the institutional church. Losing your life and denying yourself is a lifelong practice of no longer living your own life for your own survival but instead seeking first the Kingdom of God and giving up a life in this world.

The New Testament ( ekklesia) ( church ) ( called out one's), as recorded in the book of Acts, took the gospel good news to the whole known world of their day inside of 70 years from the Day of Pentecost. They didn't do that by building church buildings, by any man made or conceived programs, by hiring staff members to preach, organize, plan, or go to seminary! They didn't seek to institutionalize, organize, program, or even traditionalize their efforts to please any denomination or man's hierarchy. They simply obeyed Christ and His direct command to " make disciples of all nations ",( Matthew 28:18-20 ) answering the prayer to the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers for the fields ripe unto harvest. (Matthew 9:37-38 ). Christ demonstrated how to make disciples and commanded us to repeat exactly His demonstration given in the gospel narratives. Then Christ did not make His disciples in the church. He made them out there in the world God still so loves. The apostle Paul did not make disciples in the church building, Acts records no disciple being made in a church either. Acts records the saints making disciples and Christ Himself planting the local churches of Roman's, Galatians, Corinth, Ephesus and so on to impact the world from their particular location. They were always going and as they were going they fully obeyed Christ and made disciples as they went. This was the operation of that first century church. Then we got organized, we became institutions with man made traditions and programs. We began to erect buildings to call churches, we built budgets and debt to justify our offering plates. We became associations and built seminaries to train professionals in religious, denominational so-called church living. Mega churches began to be built with much fanfare..... yet all the while we were loosing ground across the world in the preaching of the gospel good news. We were no longer making disciples of all nations as was still our direct command. We were planting churches along with traditional, institutional, organized, religious programs and practices. ( never commanded us!) We were proselytizing the gospel message and adding converts. Yet we were commanded to multiply the kingdom through disciple making which includes the preaching, teaching and demonstration of the gospel good news. In our disobedience we have today, as I post this some 5 billion people on our planet who have never, ever, heard even one redemptive word of Christ Jesus. ( The Gospel )
Christ gave us this prophecy: " This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a witness to every nation and then the end will come. " Matthew 24:14. Then Christ said this: " If you love Me, you will obey My commandments. " John 14:15..... Well.... Do We?

Yep ! I love the LORD with all my heart but I have not been in a church building for over 5 years. ..I did though go to a church that was recently built by where I live and I attended it twice but it was very very clickish ...they didn't really want newcomers...they were content with their little groups. But that wasn't the main reason why I didn't continue going ! I'm am just tired of the same old same services I see going on in churches ! Very "religious" time schedules! ! Not really caring...just give me your tithes and offerings and for that, they will feed you once a month, pray with you (sometimes), etc etc ! ! People have told me ..."well, they're NOT all like that" but then can't give me a Name of a Church.! ! My church is every day in my home NOT just on Sundays ! ! BLESSINGS to you all !

I consider myself to be in the same camp with these people! I have attended a ton of organized religions (churches) and found them to be basically the same. Brick and mortar churches exist to keep people who don’t agree with their leadership doctrines out! When any group concerns itself with lucre, it becomes a business. And, business’s primary concern is financial survival. When Jesus booted the money changers out of the temple, I understand this to mean that God is not for sale! I think that if people want to subject themselves to their brand of organized religion, it’s fine with me. People need entertainment and entertainers need the ‘business’! I discovered several years ago that I needed real answers when it came to my Creator because my time as a mortal is running out and ‘religion‘ wasn’t getting me any closer. I began committing the cardinal sin of asking questions! How dare me! I quit asking the church and began taking my questions directly to the Creator of all things, both seen and unseen. Lo and behold, He answered me! It’s called Holy communion. If you are interested, simply find a quiet place (maybe a closet?) and ask Him to talk to you. It worked for me and I know it will work for you if you are sincere. I love you in the name of our Creator, Jesus!

The salvation message is for all. We have been seperated from God because of sin. In our flesh is no good thing. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (lying, stealing, taking the Lords name in vain, fornication, lust, hate etc). God is pure, Holy, righteous, perfect - He cannot look upon sin. You have sinned against a righteous judge.....a Holy God. The good news? God sent his only begotten son as a sinless, perfect sacrifice. Fully man yet fully God. Jesus Christ (God manifested in the flesh) died for your sins, past present and future. The blood God shed on the cross washes you clean of all unrighteousness. He took the wrath that you deserve and gave you a way to eternal life through him. Jesus Christ paid the price for all your sins. God died for you. You can be reconnected to God, forgiven and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ....the living God. He made the biggest sacrifice for you. You can't earn salvation. No amount of going to a church building or good works will get Gods favor. Church buildings are man made religions. You have to put your total faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for you. Not trusting in yourself or thinking it's about being a good person because "there is none righteous, no not one" Romans 3:10. You need to get to the end of your own self righteousness understanding Jesus Christ is the only way. If you reject Jesus Christ, your sins are still counted against you and your punishment is hell for eternity. "For the wages of sin in death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". Romans 6:23. God gave you a way out through Jesus Christ. "Repent ye and believe the gospel" Mark 1:15
Between you and God, repent...... humbling yourself before the one who created you. Change your mind and direction. Turn toward God and put your faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for you. With a heart wanting a changed life and all truth letting go of self righteousness. Only God knows your heart and if you're genuine. Start by crying out to God with a humble, contrite spirit and put your faith in Jesus Christ. "Heavenly Father, have mercy on me. I'm a sinner deserving of hell. I can't save myself. I know Jesus Christ is the only way. I want to turn from my past, I want a changed life and I know only you can save me. I put all my faith in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for my sins. I believe he died for my sins and rose 3 days later. I pray for all truth no matter the cost. Please save me and lead me into all truth. In the name of Jesus Christ amen". Seek him with all your heart.
    Luke 5:31-32King James Version (KJV)
31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
    Psalm 34:18King James Version (KJV)
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
    Ephesians 2:8-9King James Version (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    John 14:6King James Version (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4King James Version (KJV)
    15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

I believe everything is broken on various levels due to the fall. People and the systems we use are broken, so there is no perfect model of the church. I've quit the institutional church, but one benefit I see of the institutional church is the theological teaching/understanding many of the leaders bring . For instance, the Southern Baptist's have there own seminaries where the majority of professors have spent there life studying God's word, Church history, Ancient culture and writings, etc. Student's are taught under these professors with the idea they in turn will go back into the SB churches and become pastors/leaders, bringing an deep knowledge of God's word. I see an immense value in this. With home churches, this depth of theological understanding may not exist which opens the people up to incorrect understanding of God. On the other hand, as someone with a Masters degree from a SB seminary, there are professors and some very smart students, who I would hope never hold a position of leadership within the Church. The reason is because even though they have an amazing theological/historical understanding of all things Biblical, they have very little Christ-likeness in their heart or in their approach to people. I believe people are turning away from the institutional church because it feels more like an event than a community.

Sunday has never been the Lord's Sabbath. If there's need to go back to the roots, uphold the 7th day Sabbath. Study the bible from Genedis to revelation so that you can also teach Sabbath truth. Sunday goes back to after the ascension of Jesus. Let's not be selective on what we share from God's word. I have also heard some people honouring Sunday due to resurrection. Its just not biblical. Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath.

There's some stuff biblical and yet also some stuff just as wrong as the institutional church. God's Law is not abolished. Jesus said "do not think I came to abolish the Law or Propets. I did not come but to fulfill. Until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or tittle will by no means pass away until ALL has been fulfilled. If you break the least of these commandments and teach men so will be least in the Kingdom of Heaven. He who does them and teaches men so will be called greatest in the Kingdom of Hesven." OK, they get a lot right about what the church should look like and what is done today. I'll give a like to the video because the majority of what they say I agree with. His Second coming has not happened so all has not been fulfilled. The bible also says "The patience of the saints is those who keep God's Commandments and their faith in Jesus. " We should live by the Holy Bible as our doctrine, not our doctrine instead of the Holy Bible. Just my thoughts. God Bless.

36 Was it from you that the word of God first went forth? Or has it come to you only?
37 If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment. 38 But if anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.
39 Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. 40 But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.
26 What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret; 28 but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment. 30 But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keep silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; 33 for God is not a God of confusion but of [m]peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
34 The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. 35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is [n]improper for a woman to speak in church.

I love this video, but allow me to share a difference of opinion regarding the tithe for consideration
The tithe did not originate with the Mosaic law. The Bible says that Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek. Gen 14: 20.
Jacob also gave tithe. Gen 28:22
Both examples show that tithing goes way before Moses. And Abraham being the father of the children of faith, he is our example here.
Malachi says that withholding tithe is tantamount to robbing God. If we say that the sacrifice of Jesus exempts us from tithing, don't we mean, in other words, that the sacrifice of Christ licenses us to be robbers? "Thou shalt not steal" is a commandment for the New Testament also. Romans 13:9; Matthew 19:18
The tithe is holy. It goes to support full-time missionaries in both local and foreign missions.
The Bible in the new Testament says the labourer is worthy of his hire. I believe that to be the tithe. Though Paul preferred to labour with his hands to support himself. Which is also okay.

I agree. Abraham paid a tithe to Melchizedek several hundred years before the law was given. Tithing is not legalistic, ideally it is our love offering to the Lord because He has done so much for us.

Although I agree with some of the video's points and can understand a desire to rid the church of some of the more bureaucratic developments, I disagree with the conclusion. Some of the points made here are far too simplistic and fail to appreciate some of the proper and natural developments The Church has made over the centuries. The Church continued to grow after the NT writings came to a close, and I am not convinced that the "just get back to the bible" is an adequate response. It may be a slightly romanticized ideal. The church in the first century can teach us something, but we have the NT writings mainly because those in authority (apostles) were dealing with many issues in house churches. I don't think we should despise authority or structures of church governments. Instead, we should ensure we are not disobeying or breaking any commands as we worship. The Spirit has been at work in the Church from the beginning, and The Church's liturgies have a rich and profitable history which should be respected. I know of many house churches that eventually faced problems because of a lack of organized structure and respect for elders in the faith. There are no easy answers, but we should respect both approaches. I agree that every believer is a priest, but does that mean no one is called into ministry as a vocation? to minister as a life's work to God's people?

Just make sure that you ignore history and logic. Just go with the best salesman within the thousands of contradictory sects and you're good to go.

Jesus & his apostles favourite topic was the Kingdom of God, and there was only one view till Constantine (Historic or primitive pre mill).

Edifying has now taken on a new meaning. Its mostly for people loving fairytales..and any form of correction in all that is hateful..ugly..unbrotherly..accusing etc..Such is the spirit of WICKEDNESS among actual 'christians' today..So, its true that MANY , exactly as scripture says, will go to 'eternal damnation'...and that prolific WEEPING, is because all expect to simply teleport themselves into the Kingdom..on fables...

What do you do if you start off with a small group in a home and then more people want to join it and your busting at the seams? Thats why you go to a church building that holds more people. If they just want money all the time, I would leave.
