I learned a lot from this guy! I always wanted to catch bull reds and about 4 years ago I started watching how this guy caught them. Now it’s something I look forward to doing every year around this time! Keep it up
Selling my house next week. Going to spend a couple months on the Texas beaches fishing this winter, and camping out of the trailer. It'll be my greatest fishing adventure yet. Can't wait.
You’re one of the only fishing youtubers that I watch consistently. Your personality, editing, education, and the the fact that you almost always catch big fish is what keeps me interested! Keep up the good work!
Awesome video! This is the chef from CC, ran into you a couple weeks ago on the jetty. 20 minutes after we talked, I landed a 30lb, 41" bull on a 2oz spoon. Silver body with gold and green mackerel stripe. You bring the fish when you come around my guy! +1 on that venting tool.
I love the fish conservation, just be careful. Looks crazy. I've noticed that reds will do that "tonic immobility" thing almost like sharks when they go on their back. I see it all the time when releasing them from my kayak. If you send them in head first and they never go upside down, they're usually good. Keep the vids coming!
I’ve watched a few videos here and there on this channel. Seeing you save that fish made me hit the subscribe button for sure. Great job! I’d gladly give you a beer if I see you around that area. Tight lines, be safe out there!
Hey Coop if u can and I know ur at the jetty but if u head first the fish gives a rush of water past the gills which gives them a blast of oxygen Great vid brother
Looking into starting that type of fishing! I got me a penn slammer 5500 and a nine foot rod . hope to meet some of you guys out there and get some pointers. Ps I’m an old dude I guess I’m a late bloomer. No matter never to late to start !!!
Thanks for saving that fish. I have seen a device on some other channels which is weighted and can be set to release the fish at a depth where it will be vented without being punctured. May not work off the jetty though.
I'm surprised you haven't gotten a new Slammer IV. If there was ever a long term case study in durability for the Slammer III, you would be it. Great work!
Yeah those granite rocks are super sharp like razor blades where the green algae starts. I got to low on the rocks to get a fish on a rough day and sliced two of my fingers to the bone had to end the trip.
Another great video. I really enjoy hearing about your set up and gear but I dont think Ive ever heard you talk about your line. I'd be really interested to hear what you're using in different situations. Thanks!
Great video as always. Be careful swimming in water there. A friend that is crazy goes spear fishing there and they saw what he estimated to be a 8 foot Tiger Shark. That was in May of this year
Because right handed anglers should fish that way.....dominant hand for casting....AND JIGGING Rod AND LURE CONTROL is much better....why change hands after each cast
Not many people would have saved that fish. Good job.
Well said
Give me my last name back now.
@@Lowgn you gotta earn that name
Sure would have grilled up very nicely if you had the tag. Great job, wonderful video. Just ordered some Korker strap ons.
Mad respect for you my friend great job jumping in to save that fish.

Love redfish!

Good luck!

Have you checked out my channel? I’m over in the east coast.
Same! 🤘

Yo. haha sometimes somtimes.
You are an excellent fisherman my friend! An example that we should strive for!
Thanks for respecting the resource,a true sportsman!
I like using the gold one in dirtier water and silver in clean water. That's what works for me here in FL.
Thanks for those pointers. Addressing the need to save those fish. Keep it up Coop.

Hey algorithm give this guy some love! Thanks!
Well done sir... a great video, positive message and lots of stellar catching. Kudos on an epic day and all my respect guy! You set the precedent!
Props for swimming the red back down! Gold seemed to be getting it done
This is why this is my favorite fishing channel
Love your channel man! Looks like you went your own version of Super Saiyan at 4:21, lmao.
Great information coop. Keep up the great work and content. Be safe out the coop. 👍🏾✌🏽💯
Glad to see you back on the jetties. Always enjoy your videos Coop.
Coop:“Just in case one of us gets hurt, better to be me”
Guy: “yeah 🙂”
😂😂😂
Love your vids bro. It's always a good day when I get a notification you posted a new one....

You have excellent taste in rods man, good setup!
That'll do it, good luck!

Good save, man. I’m the same way with C&R. Respect.
Dude your videos are amazing man. 👌 loved this one.
Nice man! Earlier video was a school in the bay and now at the jetties. Way to go Coop! 🙌👏👊👍
They feel very high quality and have great action. I've only tested it so far shore fishing on the minnesota river. That being said; so far, so good.
You make me a belieber in spoons, I usually throw plastics but metal is hard to doubt after watching you throw em.
How deep is the water Brother?
I was also wondering how deep since the fish have to be vented
Tops off at about 60 feet in that channel
50-60
7:33 this is so true. It’s so hard to tie knots when you know there are fish around, because you want to get in there.
Gold actually reflect the colour of the juicy bait! Me I worship that colour in everything I used to fish and its successful bro.
Props for jumping in coop!!
I'm surprised you haven't gotten a new Slammer IV. If there was ever a long term case study in durability for the Slammer III, you would be it. Great work!
Hey man I’m in CC area not having any luck any way you would consider doing a guided fishing trip?
Finally a channel is high quality editing 🎉
What kind of shoes are you using? Been trying to find a good pair of boots/shoes for the slippery rocks at the jetties. Thanks!
How long mono leader should I go with thanks? What’s jetty is this?
Are you using a swivel on that spoon what lb line and rod should i use? Is green 20lb braid bad to use because of visibility in the water
Can we get a follow up review of the Rover? Would you still recommend it?
What rod are you using seems nice!
Do you wear your spikes with the. Corkers boot or do you strap it on to your regular shoes?
What size are those snap rings you use for that spoons
Hi where this spoons baying wich size and manufacture
Great video man, like that you giving some fishing advice, that some ppl need to practice on. 👍
Cheers to that!
Enjoy the video

We need more fisherman like you
lol been a while since I heard that one.
Great video. Loved this one a lot
What brand of spoon are you showing? Locally, CCTX, I could only find the Sea Striker. Silver spoon with gold decal
Just got the spoons off of amazon. Seastrikers are fine but the split rings a very weak, so I would replace those.
@@ThresherFishing Awesome. Thank You.
Great sportsmanship!
How many seconds do u let it sink
You are amazing! Good job in saving that red! I use the FG knot but it is so friggin hard to tie it in the wind!
its vanilla ice! ice ice baby too cold word to yuh mutha
Much respect Coop!!!! You gotta come down to SPI we got some good fishing down here also!!! Thanks for the links
Another great video. I really enjoy hearing about your set up and gear but I dont think Ive ever heard you talk about your line. I'd be really interested to hear what you're using in different situations. Thanks!
You’re only person that would go in to save a fish!
"If anyone gets hurt it should be me"
Guy, "yeah"
You're the man coop!!!!
I read that those big reds can produce 1.5 to 3 million eggs! So please vent them!
Good job Coop! 👍
Thanks for the fizz/vent on that beauty Red
What kind of rod were you using?
What lb test line would you use with that spoon?
Great content brother. Do you ever put a swivel on your spoons?
Great video as always. Be careful swimming in water there. A friend that is crazy goes spear fishing there and they saw what he estimated to be a 8 foot Tiger Shark. That was in May of this year
Where can I get the spoons???
Would you mind sharing the drop pin location of this jetty ?
great teacher.. many dont teach us like u.
Hey Coop forgive me if ya said so already but where here is the link for the Corkers ?
Awesome video. What Penn Carnage rod are you using?
You my man are a hero!
What kind of spoon is that?
he man, love your videos! planning to go to jetties tomorrow, what is a preffered wind speed in your experience, tomorrow it ll be ~15.
Really enjoy your videos! Sure appreciate you going in after that Red!
Vry Nice Video Sir..
What’s size rod and reel set up is that
What's up bro, what kind of cleets do you use? It's not in the video description like you said
Korkers
@@ThresherFishing we will be down July 15th, I may bring my boat, I'll let you know my guy
Why is the hand crank on a conventional reel sometimes on the left side of the rod?
Because right handed anglers should fish that way.....dominant hand for casting....AND JIGGING Rod AND LURE CONTROL is much better....why change hands after each cast
So where do we buy these lures?
Are they good eating?
That's why I respect you because you care peace brother 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
What brand and model rod is that?
What line do you do and where can I get it?
great save and great content! maybe gold reflects more light?
Curious how a nice crankbait would do kinda like a floating type.Work it down let it float up especially a square bill around the rocks
That man jumped in to rescue a fish… and only 1/10th of the viewers hit the thumbs up button. Come on guys. Show some love.
What’s good brother. Can’t wait to watch the video.
I started using the 3 oz gold and caught by pb red on the third cast lol lost one on my first cast. I’m buying one of those deflating tools.
What size gear you using?
I bet thats a 8k - 9k Slammer on a 9' - 10' Battle rod
5500 reel with 9 to 10' rod capable of throwing at least 3 oz
Bro what rod do you use?
Which jetty is that?
My man said, “Plus one scratch resistance”. 😂😂😂
Nice vid Coop, be safe!
Couldn't catch anything yesterday with my spoon 😪 it was pretty crowded out at packery jetty though
do you lose lots of gear?
I use silver when water is clean and mullet is schooling around, and I use gold when water is not clean, and in when I feel they are chasing crokers.
I've always had success using gold when it's overcast and silver when it's bright out
A recommendation for you change the trebal Hook on your spoon for a barbless octopus single Hook
Great job coop, always enjoy your videos, hey where did you buy those cleats you put on your sneakers? I need some bad. lol
Hell yeah brother!
yes sirrr
