Living in South Houston I normally take my boat to City Dyke or Galveston and take it down your way. But sometimes I drive down there as I love fishing the jetties. Specially when the waves are crashing and flocks of birds chasing big schools of baitfish.
Funny story…I’m the dude in the black hoodie giving you side eye as you reel them in and I’m getting skunked. I watched you for a bit and went home and changed my setup from the wire leader and 6/0 hook to a floro leader and a 3/0 hook. Just with that change I slayed the trout the other day. I’ll have to give this setup a try. Great vids and it was cool seeing you out there
Slip cork ia thw inly way i fish on deep drop offs especially at the jetties...some people just dont ever catch onto the way you us a slip cork to fish...😂😂😮😮
Lmao I just caught one last weekend the big pelican swam right into my popping cork and tried to get my bull minnow and end up leaving with a hook and bull minnow in his leg I wanted to get it out but but he snapped at me so I said nope! I guess u get to leave with some jewelry and a snack! lol

yeah Im going to chnge my set up to a slip bobber ..trashing the one I got at Walmart .. thanks for up-dating everyone that uses BS popping corks at the jetties ..Going back to surfside jetties next weekend
That's considered a popper Barber I do believe the bottom length should be a little bit shorter and have a swivel at the bottom butt but it does work because it is a popper bobber that when you jig it in it makes popping sounds in the water and splashing sounds that attract fish to your bait what I usually do is cut the bottom wire shorter slip on a round crimper then slide on a swivel then put the tag in back in the round crimper put it even with the and then crimp it smash it with your pliers to crimp it can I stay in place and it works better that way

Put a hand full of beach sand in your shrimp bucket. Idk how it works but they stay alive way longer.
Must be down South , water looks clean and the jetty is in great shape and zero crappy beach houses on the shore like Surfside Tx. !
