BG3 Companion reactions to player needing help in battle

- Some voiced reactions from Astarion, Minthara, Gale, Jaheira, and Minsc -- seems to be mostly lines reacting to the player character being hurt or needing help in battle. But a few other random lines too. 🤍
These are some recorded voice lines I found in the game files, mixed in with other point-and-click lines and battle sounds. I'm not sure if they can actually be triggered in the game currently, as I haven't been able to do it, but I love them.
I cracked up at 'stop bleeding, it's distracting'
He has that same line but performed funnier if you cast healing or cure lesser restoration.
There's a Magic: The Gathering crossover set with BG where that line's on one of his cards ("Astarion's Thirst", where he's drinking from Gale's neck). I'm delighted to see it's canon.

I came here for the Astarion quotes but died at "Wiggle my friend! WIGGLE!"

I love how bewildered Minsc is at 3:57. If you're playing the Dark Urge, they were abandoned by their allies, their cult, even their god for a time. To see them fight side-by-side with a group of people who cannot even fathom abandoning them is downright healing for me.
I never get any of these! I usually get something along the lines of. "No, you can't die!" Or something like that.

That and it depends on what they're helping with. There's nets or vines you get tangled in and helping with that is different than being downed.
Probably. But I also think the lead writer and Niel just got carried away maybe. Lol. I also have a sneaking suspicion that he may have become a dev favorite given his sheer amount of content and the fact that one of the major tracks (I Want to Live) seems to reference him most in it's symbolism.
Ok maybe I am stupid but I have never heard any of this before, is this a mod?
I believe this is if your player character has been downed/entangled/etc and you use another character to help them, as opposed to just whenever they get injured
@@ginar2339 yes, but I always hear astarion say: when downed "you can't die, get up damn you". If he helpes, I can't remember he is says anything. Maybe a bug, I play on xbox. Or I have to listen closer.
I haven't been able to trigger most of these in the game. :( I'm not sure if it's possible. It's such a shame because I love these. I found them hidden in the game files, mixed in with a bunch of point-and-click lines and the battle sound effects.
@@HastursQueenI don’t think all of these are in game, but I’m not talking about the line when you are downed, I’m talking about the line you get when you have him use the “help” action

Wait they talk when they help you??? Are these from a new update or something? Cause I've legit never heard any of these except the first few 'hellos' from Astarion whenever he goes to pick a lock, but certainly never in battle. And no I'm not so good at the game that I just never need help from them. Also Astarion's sudden whispering attacked me....I'm not mad or anything, but you could've warned us.😭
How do you get these lines? Astarion only says don't die you for me and I'm romancing him in act 3
I'm not sure if it's possible to trigger all of these in the game, unfortunately. These voiced lines can be found in the game files in the same place where all of the point-and-click and battle sounds are.
I've gotten the you can't die one before when my tav was downed in battle whilst romancing astarion if anyone is trying to get some of these lines ingame :]

i’ve only gotten 2 unique “help” lines in almost 700 hrs of gameplay.
1. a “typical” from astarion as he picked me up 🥲 sounded like a very disappointed father i literally went _”excuse me?!_ it’s not my fault im getting focused!”
2. “this isn’t what i meant when i said i wanted you to open your heart” or smth along those lines, from my tav to a downed gale. that line seems more fitting for mama k i think
