Very good video👏🏼 Sir you just mentioned that polyacrylic acid has higher molecular weight but on the slide it’s written that it has less molecular weight😅
Very well explained the composition and setting reaction and how the anticarcinogenic property of GIC works. Thank you Dr Suresh sir you have made understanding dental materials very easy . Keep posting such videos sir , thank you 😁

Hi Dr, i was wondering if the 3 types of classification for GIC is also applicable to Zinc polycarboxylate, (1.the luting, 2.restorative and 3.base and liner)
@@Aspire32 Thank you Dr for your response, i checked the Zinc polycarboxylate video but it does not mention 3 types, so i am assuming the 3 types, 1.the luting, 2.restorative and 3.base and liner, are only for Zinc phosphate and GIC?

Great video as always sir ...
But isnt the compressive strength of zinc phosphate is highest of all the cements...it was even mentioned in your lecture on zinc phosphate that it is better than GIC amd polycarboxylate
There is a charge of strength given in Phillips. Do check
Sir kindly explain abt traditional GIC
This is the traditional GIC also called as conventional gic
kya ye har market se mil jata ha or iski price
Hi Dr i'm confused which cement had the highest compressive strength, Zinc phosphate or GIC?
There is a table in Phillips dental materials. Pls check
Sir you are amazinggg 🥺🥺
can you put GIC luting cement instead of GIC base or restorative GIC cement under amalgam or composite instead posterior teeth
I have a question, what’s the function of silicate and polycarboxylate? Which is responsible about substituting fluoride when leach out?
They increase the strength and modify thr properties of cement
is there difference in the compressive and tensile strength of different types of GIC cement types like type l or type ll
Yes. There os difference.
What is the anhydrous GIC? Does it come in one bottle or two?
Pls watch all videos of cements. I have explained it in one of the videos

Hello sir, why gic is not Commonly used as base like zinc phosphate?
Its actually used more than zinc phosphate now. But its expensive
Sir if the working time is increased then how can be the setting time decreased?I mean it should also increase...Plzz clear my doubt.
Thats how the material affects the property. Initially settings is slowed, final settings is rapid..
Hello Sir. I don't understand. Why are there so many GI Types? Do they all have similar properties since they are all GI? Is it very big mistake to interchange their uses?
Thats because material evolve. New material have advantages but they do cost more.
@@Aspire32 is interchanging their uses ok?
we have a question for you doctor .Can we use type I GIC luting cement under amalgam or composite instead of type III or type Il restorative cement
U can use but the strength would be less. The type 2 has better strength

My dentist did not condition my tooth with phosphoric acid before putting Ketac Molar GIC. Is it very critical? What should I do?
Most dentist dont. Dont worry !
@@Aspire32 Thank you so much for responding. Actually, I see the conditioning step mentioned everywhere, from published research to TH-cam videos. Hence, I feel worried. How long can I expect this filling to last?
There are multiple factors which decide the life of the restoration. I am sure your dentist can advise your better.

I can change it in the settings
Sir,why in xerostomia people there is poor longevity of GIC
Dry mouth causes dedication of cement restoration making it loose its Esthetic appearance
