I heard MORTER 600 times in. this video. Great work though. I would leave this to a professional to do all this. Nice video I'm so glad you did it in Fast Pace
its good you didn't forget the fireplace skirt. I would've built the fireplace out with bricks and mortar instead of just mortar and diamond metal lathe though.
@@CreativeSpiral don't know where you live but i am in SC- Charleston. Contemplating taking a hearth out of a brick fire place and dropping tile at the floor- it's just a big fat hearth taking up floor space and driving me crazy. Perusing YT found you guys, love your work ethic > Kind of afraid to chisel away at it- don't know if the brick on the chimney goes all the down behind the hearth- what the hell, who cares, if there's no brick behind it after I get the hearth out, I guess I could tile the whole thing right? Again, great job.
Man hook your bro up with some a/c he looks like he was over heating. But good work. I just did a 10foot by 8 ft wall of lava rock and a fire place insert with air circulation, it is not an easy job.
We wanted to build the legs and header out a couple inches, and the top/header needed some unique support to fill a gap. Mortar seemed to be the most holistic and appropriate solution.

I would've just took the whole thing out and covered it with sheetrock. those things take up so much room.
Was there a reason you didnt use cement board on the face versa the mesh wiring and mortar

Why not just screw cement board into the wall and tile it? I don't understand the reason people use mesh it seems like so much more work.
