Having goals is key. Thankfully I had a pair I got my 1st year back into the hobby that allowed me to set a baseline. I won 4th Champion bird with one of their daughters. Every other pair had to be better for me to keep them. I had a 5 year plan and reached it a year sooner than I expected, now it's on to my 10 year plan. Take each negative as a learning experience and keep moving toward the goal.
🔴 The Danza Loft breeding goal. Very simple. It's not science.. 1. Get pairs to like each other 2. Lay an egg 3. Lay a second egg 4. Both eggs be good 5. Both eggs hatch 6. Don’t forget to band them on time 7. Wean baby’s 8. Wean enough baby’s 9. Trap train 10. Don’t fly away during settling 11. Have them group up 12. Have them route 13. Come home from 1 mile 14. Come home from 5 miles 16. Come home from 10-40 miles 17. Be healthy for 1st race 18. Come home from 1st race 19. Make it to 2nd race
#10 is getting really tough in a lot of places with the Cooper population exploding. That being said, these are really just steps toward a destination.
Man that’s my point exactly people just breeding blindly really. What quality are they putting in these birds. on paper they look great, but the birds a real p.o.s.
Yes, most people just put them together and hope. In reality, it's a science, an art, and an organized process. If there's no goal and no plan, it's just wishing and hoping. The end result is going to be lack luster or at minimum, limited results.
