    This is a fantastic comparison of these two products Tamara and the production quality is 2nd to none.
    Genuinely gasped out loud when you showed how easy it was to get the files off of the DJI - the Rode's have always baffled me why it's not just a .wav file.
    Thanks for posting 🙂

    I'm a huge fan of RØDE's products (I have a PodMic, a RØDECaster Pro II, an NT1, and 2 PSA1+ arms), but every comparison I've seen of these products pushes me closer to DJI.

    Great video, thanks. One small thing: you can copy the files from the Rode through USB without the Rode Central, just like on the DJI. But you need to convert the files either with a third party converter or with the Rode Central. The format the Rode records into allows conversion into a lot of different formats and you can also set the loudness level at conversion, which might save you a bit of time in your editing software. With the latest desktop version of Rode Central, you can convert files sitting on your PC, not just the files on the transmitters. I am not sure, but I think that the special format it records in also allows for a bit more flexibility with audio levels. It is not 32 bit float, but as far as I understand, it has some better dynamic range which might help salvage clipped audio. A month or two ago I had some overdriven/clipped recording, and by playing around with the special files recorded by the WG2 I was able to get a very usable sounding wav file.

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, that’s good to know. It’s just an extra step though having to convert the files which is why the DJI option is more appealing, less faff.

      With the latest firmware update, the RØDE Wireless Mic Go II transmitters now record in .wav, and the app is not needed to transfer or convert the files.

    Thanks for the excellent review, which confirms the DJI as my first choice. I'm thinking about interviewing people who lived through the cultural turmoil/revolution of the 1960s, now getting on in years, and a clip-on and forget wireless seems like it would be much more comfortable for people than a shotgun or anything directional that you'd have to stay aimed towards and close to.

    I edit on my ipad pro. I recorded directly to my dji transmitter and then pugged it into my ipad pro and it recognized it as a file. I was able to easily transfer the file directly onto the ipad. After, I was able to delete the file off the transmitter using the screen on the receiver. I really like the DJI mic.

    G’day Princess, great comparison review 👌🏻 I own several RØDE products and love them all. I also purchased the DJI Mic and like it a lot! I agree with all that you said and find myself using the DJI Mic a lot more that my RØDE Wireless Go V1. I think this latest RØDE Wireless ME is in direct response to the DJI Mic. I say bring on the competition because in the long run it is US the consumer that gains the most benefit from advanced technology products. Keep up the awesome videos young lady, your SMASHING this TH-cam thing. Much friendly Love. Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺✌🏻

      @TamaraGabrielUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I don't think the Rode Wireless ME is trying to compete with the DJI Wireless Mic, it has a different consumer in mind,. The Wireless ME is a great mic though, perfect for run and gun.

    @mk_private4844 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've watched your video to the very end. Thank you for the review that ensures me that I should choose DJI instead of Rode. I think that Rode has slightly better sound quality when you are using the sole transmitter mic, but in the terms of the content creation we need to be realistic. We will need to store it, charge it, and take it with you - sometimes in a big hurry. And we have a kids and that does not coresspond well with a plenty of cables, small elements that can be easily lost when you take care of your children and don't have a comfort of perfectionly packing all those Rode gear to the proper containers - both in your house nad on the way. Having the DJI you put everything to the case and you are done - and your gear is charging.

    This is so helpful - thank you! You mentioned you use a gopro, which is what I'd be using the mic with (as well as my phone, I have hero10) and I think I need a media mod - is that the case? The matching app looks great! I have so much trouble trying to get the two cameras to look the same!

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem 😊 Yeah, you can either get a usb-c to 3.5mm adapter cable or you can use the Media Mod. It’s a bit more expensive than getting an adapter, but I personally find it convenient because of the mounting options for the mic as well.

    I film alone. The single transmitter version wasn't available when I got mine... BUT I probably would have still gotten the 2 transmitter version anyway. What happens if you're out and you break the transmitter or if the battery dies? Always clutch to have the backup. My only beef is really needed into up the gain on both the Receiver & Transmitter... but it's easy to figure out and one you have it, you're set. I like +6DB on both the Transmitter & Receiver for iPhone.

    I'm a vlog newbie, non audiophile, who's been watching tons of mic video reviews. The DJI appears to be the standard by which everything else is measured (in this class).
    I've recently bought a Fulaim X5 which to me sounds similar to the DJI soundwise. I have found that my £20 wired PurplePanda lav sounds quite a bit better plugged directly into my iphone12pm. BUT with some basic sound adjustments in Lumafusion the X5 sounds about the same.
    Any chance of a Fulaim X5 v DJI comparison video?
    PS nice to see some British countryside and accents (I'm in China).
