That's very incorrect. My wife and I have purposefully lived in our car for years and there is so much more time freedom and financial freedom over the extreme cost of a hyper-inflated home with a 30 year death certificate or the insanely, outrageous, super highly inflated cost of rent. Plus with a home comes expensive upkeep and maintenance with a periodic super high expense like a new HVAC or a new roof. I choose not to be that kind of slave but to each his own.

Love your videos!! You can always turn the knob on the steering column to turn off running lights at night for stealth. You can dim the dashboard too, but I always put black construction paper over the screen and consul to black that out. I have a 2012 Prius that I have spent many nights in. I wanted to run the fridge so I kept the car on all night. You will figure it out
We don’t have the setting on our lights to turn off the running lights actually. Only certain models have this so we have to use the e-brake which works great!
This one's more for Leah. You mentioned you're finishing your period (sympathy! Starting mine now!). How are you finding dealing with your cycle on the road? From the period, to the pains, to the cravings, all of it. Do you guys try to plan any days/nights around it (like your worst time maybe decide to stay at a park or air bnb, making sure you're stocked on your period food, etc)? I personally use a cup, & occasionally panties. But I couldn't imagine trying to handle driving & boondocking with just disposables. Any leaking tips for travelers might be helpful. This could probably play into a video like y'all mentioned, about hygiene, cleaning, sunscreen, makeup, deodorant (how rude, "green taxing", ugh). And, hooray for Stranger Things! I hope you give a non-spoiler reaction when you're all done! It's so good, love that show. Have fun! Hope you keep enjoying more. Take care with the heat as you go further south (I'm in S. Arizona, it's HOT, but we're starting our monsoon season, yay!)! 💕
Wise has been so helpful for me, I’m from the us but go to school in the uk. It is a pain in the customer service department but if you’re someone who travels a lot it’s so useful
Native is available in Shoppers Drug Mart & Superstore now...but it's $17 for the one in plastic packaging..which means it's cheaper for me to order it direct from Native, even with shipping & buying in USD. It's nuts.
In both the UK and Australia you can get both bank accounts and credit cards that charge zero fees for using foreign currencies, your money basically gets converted a couple of base points (I.e. around 0.02% ) above the visa/Mastercard base rate, which makes travelling though multiple counties super cheap and con isn’t from a forex perspective. My current account also rebates ATM fees , including crazy Hawaii resort atm fees (as tested for an emergency cash withdrawal just before my wedding). I’ve heard banking is pretty terrible in the USA, but haven’t heard about Hawaii. Australia’s banking was pretty behind the UK when I immigrated here (apart from payWave/tap and pay) but has caught up.
I lived in my Prius for 2 years (by choice), it was pretty awesome. I had a 2005 model and it didn't have any issues with randomly turning on lights so I could run the AC all night. I'd recommend getting a membership at a 24 hour gym chain like planet fitness or 24 hour fitness. I actually had both memberships so I could travel in different parts of the country and always have a gym nearby to park at. It's really convenient to park in their lots most of the time cause if you need to go to the bathroom or whatever in the middle of the night you can just walk out and check in to the gym. Makerspaces are also awesome for vehicle dwellers if you like doing crafts or want to learn new skills. I got memberships at a few that were also 24 hour and as long as you respect any rules they have on sleeping in your car in the parking lot, you can just park there or somewhere close by and use that as a sort of homebase too. Most of the time they have a communal fridge, places you can get work done, wifi, restroom etc. That's mostly if you're staying mostly in 1 spot/city though, if you're just traveling honestly hotel parking lots are also pretty good. Usually they are 24 hour and no one bats an eye if you walk in and use the main lobby bathroom at random times. With everything though, just be wary to not stick out a lot, change up your locations often, never park in parking lots where you're the only car in them (night time security guards WILL knock on your door and tell you to leave) but basically it's really not bad once you figure out the little life hacks to make it comfortable
Sorry to tell you (as I was sorry to hear) but Native was bought out by Proctor and Gamble quite a while ago. It is still a good deodorant but just part of P&G’s greenwashing arm.
Also, I’m watching you two while I’m watching Eva zu Beck doing something similar but in the other direction. You may have been in Portland at the same time. Living my best vicarious life.
My boyfriend uses Wise! I don't know why I didn't think of that when you guys mentioned needing a card; that's how we transfer money between each other when he's in the US from CAN
HMU if you need a place to stay when you pass through Toronto. At worst I can give you a quiet suburban parking spot. Maybe even a room to stay in if the timing aligns well.
Hi, Levi & Leah! Great video this week! Do you use the Healthy Living app from the EWG when selecting your personal care items? I stopped using Native and Schmidt when they were bought out. Native was bought by P&G in 2017 and changed the formulation. Schmidt was bought by Unilever also in 2017. Leah’s tinted sunscreen is rated a 2 in the green area for low toxin exposure. The mint and eucalyptus deodorant was a three with some exposure to toxins. Can’t wait for more content!
@@aayotechnology, I’m currently using Primal Life Organics Stick Up in the cardboard applicator. I’d say the non-toxic deodorant journey has been the most difficult. It came down to what works, what’s available, and what has low exposure. As you can see above I’d been through Native and Schmidt plus so many more. And, my standards have evolved along the way. But I still won’t make my own.😂 enjoy the process, release your connection to the outcome.
That’s what I love about the two of you sometimes you have no filter!❤️ I always have a good laugh when I watch your videos. Yes I have stainless steel insulated cups as well and I would never go back to a standard cup. Thanks for all the great videos and Levi I’m glad you’re learning how to run the AC for your comfort at night! #ItMeansAHappyWife❤️
I don't know how you guys do this. I can't spend a day without getting a full shower haha. I'm loving these videos, keep it up! What do you guys do in your free time? Does it ever get bored and how you deal with it?
Honestly we never get bored! We had this conversation yesterday but there’s always something to do. Setup, takedown, activities, or just chilling. Also showers are waaaaaay better when you have them less 👍🏼
Am rewriting somebody’s advice to keep your AC on!! Just in case you didn’t see it: WHILE THE CAR IS OFF, APPLY EMERGENCY BREAK FIRST, THEN TURN THE CAR BACK ON, THE LIGHTS SHOULD STAY OFF! Let us know if it works!!
I would love to spend a week or a year in Oregon, or the rest of my life. Needless to say I am homesick for my home state. Born and raised in Salem. You can take the girl out of Oregon, but cannot take the Oregon out of the girl. Keep Portland Weird. And PDX is used to stealth campers now. Just some people will call the cops on you in certain neighborhoods. If I knew, I would have asked my brother if you could stealth camp at his place. Chase Reeves lived in Portland for a while, so keep Portland Weird and have fun. How did you handle the 100 F. Also. You should have tried white water rafting on the Deschutes! I did it once with my sister and I fell out, she wouldn’t let me go until I told her I would drown if she didn’t. Going down level 3 rapids in a life vest was a blast, I will never forget it. Thank god the narrows were over by that time.
Hello! Where do you feel comfortable organizing your car? During the year I lived from my car that was the hardest thing... When I stayed at Airbnbs I never felt comfortable (often needed to be stealth) and at hotels I didn't want to bring attention to my belongings staying in there... Excited for you to hit Colorado - would love to help you navigate Boulder at whatever level you'd like from telling you good spots to eat to hosting you!
Thanks Crissy! We haven’t been too worried about organization at campgrounds and rest stops as that’s kind of the norm there? And then as Leah says “ACT NATURAL!” 😂

Really interesting, entertaining and informative!!! Also, why don't you just leave the bed set up during the day??? So happy you figure the AC at night part. Be aware we are in the most hot part plot the summer so I think it's totally, completely understandable to use it some nights, or for day naps too!!! That car is your living room, bedroom, and everything else where your body was used to relax! So use it as is!!! And yes, of course being mindful of the surroundings and such, but honestly, at the end of the day, if anyone (and I really doubt that being a bigger odd than 1/20) is intrigued or bothered about it, the heck with them! 🤙 And yes! Enjoy some camping ! Why not!!!!!! 🤙🤙 Happy travels!

I've gotta say, Wise was one of the best decisions I made before traveling. It's saved me so much hassle hopping from country to country and transferring to local currency in seconds (USA, Canada & Europe). I couldn't live without it. I, fortunately (it seems) have not had to deal with their customer service. Also, my American Capital One Quicksilver card doesn't charge any transaction fees to spend in another currency 👍. Love watching you two, stay safe.
I really enjoy your videos ! You guys are so likable ! Best wishes on your future adventures ❤️ . On a random note it helps you guys are white when you’re camping in your car on random streets :)
I saw a TikTok the other day saying Americans don’t use the hand brake/parking brake every time they park. So is that what you guys do? In Australia everyone does every time.
yea we only use it when parking on hills. one time i had just gotten my prius and i had valeted it. and when i went to leave the car wouldn’t move. i knew it was the brake cuz i know valets put it on. but the problem was i didn’t know where it was located in a prius cuz i was used to a hand lever. i had to go ask the valet guy 🤦♀️🤦♀️😂😂
This might just be a very particular pet peeve of mine, but do you think you can shoot on a higher aperture so both of you guys are in focus? At least when it's just the two of you talking to the camera. Otherwise I really really love the content and I always look forward to all of your updates!
Is this some north american thing where people don't use their handbrakes? You'd fail your driving test here in Australia if you turn the car off without pulling up your handbrake.
I love car life. My wife and I have been doing it for years and we love it. First of all we're saving a ton of money since we're not paying hyper-inflated rent. Secondly the thought of a mortgage for a hyper-inflated home that too many people are slaves to, makes me want to puke. And the idea that I would have to stay in that albatross around my neck day and night and day and night and day and night, again makes want to puke. Don't even get me started on the upkeep and manual labor to keep the house from falling apart. Car/van life is freedom.
hey Leah and Levi, is it just chancethat I alteady had 4 commercials from Toyota while watching this video? Love watching you guys. Enjoy your travels! Hope you're coming back to NL at some point.
So fun to watch!! Do you plan to head thru the Midwest and are you going to the East Coast at some point? You probably already answered this and I don’t remember! As my daughter would say….you need to “tuck your middle-age back in!” 😂 - Valerie from Kentucky
Natural deodorant is insane, like $30 for one of Canada's more popular brands (Routine). Almost makes me want to make my own 🤔 benefits of hermit life, wouldn't have to be that great I guess 😉
When you were coming back from your sushi meal and Leah had just had ENOUGH ... it reminded me of that good old song by Jimmy Buffet: th-cam.com/video/FNRps83DKRo/w-d-xo.html And, I don't know if you're still in central Oregon, but there's a great distillery between Bend & Sisters called Wild Roots ... they have a tasting room and their vodka and gin is really good (and well priced).
I hope you’ve been following the news from Mexico, there’s apparently a big cartel riot going on around Guadalajara after some cartel boss meeting was raided by the Federales. They have been commandering cars and buses just to set them on fire for roadblocks.
Your travelling in your car & your in the beautiful state of Oregon (Portland area) and there are NO campgrounds or parks around /ocean view Areas to camp? You have to park in a subdivision ?? Also don’t PEE in public areas , so you have to wait to find a washroom cuz your in a residential area. Also, your living in your car like homeless people but with solar panels, a kitchenette, with healthy food & beers .
I'm not going to lie, I would never want to do this myself, but watching you guys do this is incredibly fascinating. I've been enjoying the series!!
Thank you! 😅🥰

I don't know why I didn't think of that when you guys mentioned needing a card; that's how we transfer money between each other when he's in the US from CAN
HI :) There is a company out of Montreal called attitude that makes great zero waste deodorant and it costs about 10 bucks.
Thanks for this! I didn’t even know this app existed! Thanks for that!
Which brands do you suggest for deodorant?
If/when you go to the east coast definitely check out Plant City in Providence! I was just there and their vegan cacio e pepe…incredible
Thank you for sharing your daily life in the car. Really interesting! Wish you all the best for your journey! 😊🌿
Thanks Veronika!
y'all's vibes are the best! would love to host you two in durham, nc! great beer + coffee over here!
Have you tried Revolut? Cause Revolut also can be used for different currencies and you don't have to deal with conversion fees.
cant wait for the cost breakdown of rental income etc. and spending on the road
Press the emergency break on with the car off. Then turn the car on and the running lights will not shine all night.
There is a way to run the engine without the lights on. Othet Prius online show how.
Love seeing this adventure!
I mean just pull the headlight fuse for a quick fix to that problem, in any car. Of course later on rewire it but 10pm at night pull the damn fuse
I had no idea that there's still people that don't use the e-break, well, it probably is due to the blinker fluid though...
You can get native deodorant in QC now but it’s like .. 17$ 😵 thankfully there are more local equally good alternatives (eg ATTITUDE)
Thank you! We’re always trying new ones (and often not trying them again sadly…)
I saw it in Ontario at Shoppers Drug Mart. Plastic packaging only. Full price $19.99, sale price $15.99.
Native deodorant is in Alberta too at Rexall pharmacy. Attitude products are great though!!
@@guesswho2042 i was just thinking that depending where the products are made (Native is from California if I'm not mistaken, Attitude is a company based in Montreal), Native may actually be more "local" for ppl in the west...!
Have you tried Monzo? They are a modern bank and launched in the USA
There was a time that I thought Levi was the crazy one, but Leah is on another level these days ;)
Leah has always been the crazy one to me :)
Loved this video!!!! I loved how in detailed you shared with us all your little routines here and there, 'cause that's really what -in my case- intrigues me the most! the little things, where to wash your teeth, this and that! 👍So thanks for that!!
And yes! Enjoy some camping ! Why not!!!!!! 🤙🤙
Happy travels!
Thanks for this! We’re really making it work and it’s so fun to share that with you. Thanks for the comment 🙏🏼❤️
We find that boondocking is always a bit strange. What is important, that we feel, is to listen to your "gut". Thanks for this vlog as usual. We adore your fun loving personalities!! Stay safe.
Thanks Jasper! Glad you’re enjoying the videos 🙏🏼🥰
You’re not wrong! Thanks for watching!
That is strange My lights do not run when do that and I have the 2013 Prius.
My 2016 Prius has a “DRL OFF” setting on the turn signal / headlight control stick to the left of the steering wheel. Does yours not have that?
No it doesn’t sadly! Only certain models had it for some reason 🤦🏻♂️
You coming straight down though California? If so when you are Northern California I want to look you up!
I hate the green tax
I’m interested in carrying solar panels and charging a plug-in prius during a cross country trip
If you could do it that would be pretty awesome!
I saw a TikTok the other day saying Americans don’t use the hand brake/parking brake every time they park. So is that what you guys do? In Australia everyone does every time.
In a manual transmission yes but automatics not so much. 🤷🏻♂️
@@LeahandLevi that’s crazy! I could never not use it. Please use it when parking on hills overnight!
yea we only use it when parking on hills. one time i had just gotten my prius and i had valeted it. and when i went to leave the car wouldn’t move. i knew it was the brake cuz i know valets put it on. but the problem was i didn’t know where it was located in a prius cuz i was used to a hand lever. i had to go ask the valet guy 🤦♀️🤦♀️😂😂
Why not bring cash? Especially in Mexico even usd is widely accepted but cash would be king on this trip no?
It's a nice river, although we would have it too. Thanks for the video.
This might just be a very particular pet peeve of mine, but do you think you can shoot on a higher aperture so both of you guys are in focus? At least when it's just the two of you talking to the camera. Otherwise I really really love the content and I always look forward to all of your updates!
Hey human! Has compostable packaging and is way cheaper!
Is this some north american thing where people don't use their handbrakes? You'd fail your driving test here in Australia if you turn the car off without pulling up your handbrake.
You have 'gezellig' tatood on your arm! That's so cute! How come you have that Dutch word on your arm?
I love car life. My wife and I have been doing it for years and we love it. First of all we're saving a ton of money since we're not paying hyper-inflated rent. Secondly the thought of a mortgage for a hyper-inflated home that too many people are slaves to, makes me want to puke. And the idea that I would have to stay in that albatross around my neck day and night and day and night and day and night, again makes want to puke. Don't even get me started on the upkeep and manual labor to keep the house from falling apart.
Car/van life is freedom.
Don’t apologize for telling you how it really is 😂
hey Leah and Levi, is it just chancethat I alteady had 4 commercials from Toyota while watching this video? Love watching you guys. Enjoy your travels! Hope you're coming back to NL at some point.
We want to come back too! Love NL!
You guy's crack me up! 🤣🤣🤣
I've actually got Native deodorant at WalMart in Canada. The cost is crazy yep.
Really? We’ll that’s news to me but the price is… smh. 🤦🏻♂️
Why not use Amex?
So fun to watch!! Do you plan to head thru the Midwest and are you going to the East Coast at some point? You probably already answered this and I don’t remember! As my daughter would say….you need to “tuck your middle-age back in!” 😂 - Valerie from Kentucky
Natural deodorant is insane, like $30 for one of Canada's more popular brands (Routine). Almost makes me want to make my own 🤔 benefits of hermit life, wouldn't have to be that great I guess 😉
Hold on. A bank account that works with different currencies?! Game. Changer.
When you were coming back from your sushi meal and Leah had just had ENOUGH ... it reminded me of that good old song by Jimmy Buffet: th-cam.com/video/FNRps83DKRo/w-d-xo.html
And, I don't know if you're still in central Oregon, but there's a great distillery between Bend & Sisters called Wild Roots ... they have a tasting room and their vodka and gin is really good (and well priced).
You have a gezellig tattoo! How awesome! Lol!
You guys are so cute together. Do you ever fall out, and if so, how do you cope when you're living is such a confined space?
Haha yeah we have our difficulties… wouldn’t call them fights but we usually take time apart in some way. A walk is helpful. 😅🙏🏼
@@LeahandLevi that's understandable. You're a pleasure to watch and a lovely couple anyway...
You guys rock🎉
cheers
Why not just use cash?
It's a shame nobody invented colored stickers to cover running lights.
If only 3M had created some large size sticky notes, hmmmmmm
how to you pee at night when there are two of you in the car?
🙌🏿🔥
You made check mine, lol
Just wanted to say hello
I hope you’ve been following the news from Mexico, there’s apparently a big cartel riot going on around Guadalajara after some cartel boss meeting was raided by the Federales. They have been commandering cars and buses just to set them on fire for roadblocks.
Beautiful girl 👧!
She’s funny
I really would help you get a US bank account for being able to shower at a gym…
Get a Mini Van guys lol would be so much easier
But at least twice as much gas cost
Your travelling in your car & your in the beautiful state of Oregon (Portland area) and there are NO campgrounds or parks around /ocean view
Areas to camp? You have to park in a subdivision ?? Also don’t PEE in public areas , so you have to wait to find a washroom cuz your in a residential area. Also, your living in your car like homeless people but with solar panels, a kitchenette, with healthy food & beers .
While I appreciate the thought experiment, this is the most entitled poop I have ever seen.
There’s always an obligatory “Leah bending over shot” lmao
Not complaining at ALL tho.
Are you gonna do a collab with @shelbizleee????
