Edit: could you imagine a joint force game with this kinda map with land, vehicle and air??? I know, I know ARMA... But I'm talkin alot better sounds and details and this size of a map with specific areas you have to roll into, take control of with the aid of air support, but air support has realistic limitations like limited fuel & ammo and would have to refuel/rearm at a base 30 or 40 or an hour away...!

If you search for tutorials, definitely dont watch GrimReapers tutorials for starters, they have a lot of "tutorials" which is really just "watch us figure shit out" as opposed to "we're gonna teach you how to do this". For specific planes like the F/A-18C i'd highly recommend Redkite who has very concise tutorials and briefs on specific subjects related to the plane like how to use JDAM's, HARM's, etc. Now that im finished bashing an individual content creator, i'd strongly suggest figuring out if you want to make the investment into peripherals like a HOTAS and headtracking, as they can be very expensive but neccessary in flight sims, and if so, i'd recommend starting out with the "FC3" planes like the F-15C and SU-27, which are accurate in terms of flight performance and whatnot but aren't "full fidelity" modules so they're easier to learn since you're not really managing the systems.
definetly buy the flaming cliffs 3 modul first. perfect start. buy a HOTAS (joystick+throttle) now, not tomorrow. you'll fall in love with dcs and will spend the money anyway ;) in game tutorials are just fine. for more detailed infos, check youtube. and as always.. practice practice practice :) good luck and enjoy
Do not waste your time with FC3 planes/flaming cliffs. It's just unclickable cockpits that will get you nowhere. I did completely fine without them. Get yourself in a f-18 or f-16 and watch some of the tutorials from either Matt Wagner or the Grim Reapers. They are fast and straight to the point, but if you want longer and more detailed tutorials I would listen to what others would have to say. I know the guy above me said that you shouldn't watch Grim Reapers, but it's really good for learning weapon systems in a short amount of time. It's pretty much only good for learning the basic systems of the aircraft and showing you what all the buttons do, not really good for different scenarios. Also, please use a joystick or at least a yoke. It's unplayable without them.
