Love what you do, DevilDog. Feel free to hit me up if you ever have questions about the DCS Chinook, or swing by the channel and check out some tutorials. I'm an operational CH-47F pilot, trying to teach people how to fly this beast!
I’ll be by. I have a whopping 8 hours in 46s. I’m suspect of the accuracy of a few things in the DCS 47 because of that but it is so little time and a different aircraft I’d love to hear your take.
Can you explain what the Trim Auto/Manual Switch actually does? The manual doesn't really say much about it and in every hot start, and IIRC even in cold starts it's in Auto, but for me it feels better in Manual. So, what does it do?
@ben1869 it's not modeled right now so no difference between auto and manual. Irl and in the future when they update the module, Auto will automatically adjust the LCTs with speed, in Manual you use the two switches next to it to manually adjust the LCT actuators.
@@47Driver In that case the manuel is wrong. it says it switches between trim control, which systems trims the aircraft. According to the manual it's switching between Flight control trimming and Pilot trimming. And tbh, that's what it feels like. With it on I often have kickbacks or pulldowns from the aircraft on it's own, with it being off I have a super stable aircraft. But when turned to auto it changes pitch on it's on. Up or down, that's random
Power transfer should be turned on before startup on APU power, and off once ready to fly according to 47Driver (don't think it does anything currently in DCS). I learned the hard way on my first flight just how important that System Sel knob to BOTH is by forgetting it haha.
To sling cargo you have to go to the coms menu, go to "all cargos" and select the cargo you want to sling. Red smoke will appear over the load and you are given voice comms on positioning and hight
Nice little video devil, Can wait to try out the heli. I'm hoping it paves the way for more logistics unit action, imagine a full scale dynamic campaign that requires players to run actual logistics plans.
Glad to see you’re still making good videos, I used to watch your vids a ton like 10 years ago. Other channels have gone to trash but these are still as original and nostalgic as I remember. Sad to see the views dropped, but proud that you’re not a sell-out like the other channels I’ve seen today. Keep up the great work man.
the hook is awesome, i put it down on a CV moving at 27Knt it was great. :) Considering my first boss flew one in the marines, he was stoked to see a glass cockpit :)
Wow, it’s been at least a year since I’ve seen a recommended vid for you devil. I hate what this platform has done to the channel. I used to get them all the time. Love the vids Devildog 🤞🏻
i wonder if they could add il-76/c-130 with airdrop mechanics and stuff. its a huge plane capable of carrying several tanks and infantry. it would be very cool to airdrop stuff with friends
C130j full fidelity is being worked on, aswell as an complete logistics overhaul which *IM SUSPECTING* sometimes around the DCS 3.0 update, just my personal guess guess that thatll be part of 3.0
People don't like it because they don't understand how powerful the Chinook is and it's very maneuverable when empty, also the new flight system makes it pilot friendly. I fly the Chinook in MSFS and DCS Chinook is 100% better.
It's been hilarious watching people complain about how it "takes off too easy" when they're flying it around empty... They don't realize this thing could lift a fully loaded apache and still have extra weight capacity to spare. An apache can barely lift itself fully loaded lol.
@@fergie89 ☕ah the life of being game devs. Also the F has Comanche blades which improves its lift capabilities although it has quirks, it flies as intended.
Yeah I'm gonna have to wait a bit on this one. I'm interested but it seems kinda useless right now. Not quite Christensen Eagle levels of useless but still
I sadly have to agree even though the radar gor fixed which is kinda promising for things to get better... But of course there are the other modules I would have loved to fly some day❤💙💛Greetings from Germany mate be strong
Thanks you guys I will be downloading this game to a all most 3 years 7 month old Brand new still in the box gaming computer. I got one of the best ones so even with today. Standards, this thing is still up-to-date according to most computer nerds. Can't wait to download this.

DevilDog: See no guns on this transport helicopter.
ACH-47: Nobody will not know there guns on me if there is no alive to see them.
If only we got the Guns a go go lol
It flies like a bus, but for all intents and purposes, that's literally what it is lol

Thanks for the shout out! PTUs aren't modeled yet, but will be a very important step once they are.

Delete your shaders in the launch menu (easy to find that option) to fix those texture issues...
I feel like we need a Jester-like virtual crew chief for the Chinook. Helps with spotting and sling load.
Well, we already somewhat have that with the voice commands. Im sure they will implement further functions like spotting and selecting cargo
Already a thing, will be advanced in the future.
There also will be Bob, the Georgo equivalent for your flying needs.
I just love logistics, and this and the cargo aircraft really is fun

Keep em coming, Devil! Great work!
Whats the point in buying this for DCS if You can get one for MSFS? Better experience for less money. UH-1 makes more sense as its ARMED!
Don't know if anybody else said it but, ME, your Airport, Resources, dynamic cargo (top left).
I just hate how ED keeps releasing unfinished models....side note I love the modded servers with the MH60
When you don't understand EA 🤦♂️

Hello, what stick and base do you have.
Love your content btw 😄
With the current Razbam/ED drama im hesitant to put anymore money into this game knowing my harrier and f15 are now just fucked

The chinook is from ED. Its their own module, so it will be updated as long as DCS is around. Just make sure to not buy 3rd Party modules

Not meant to fly like a brick
How the hell do you know how to start?Something like this seems a little bit complicated to me
There's training vids how to start and also documentation. It's actually one of the easier things to start in DCS
Its probably the easiest Module to start up in DCS. Theres plenty of tutorials
