I love how everything seems to stop and then the camera switches to Billy who comes over like an supersized Yoda.

Anytime Billy chimes in, you know shit's gonna get real. With how often I see him add to or correct a move, it makes me wonder how much knowledge will be lost when he is no longer around. It seems the students can't remember it all

Well it seems your question was made a reality. The legend moved on. I do not want this art to fade away and all that's left is ass scooting sport gyms.

'Sorry guys' from Billy, after he comes over and coaches, really does show how amazing a guy he was.

This was an issue I had with the traditional single leg. You would fall into the guard. But anytime my trail leg went behind the opponent's, I felt confident that I was taking their back.

Learned this one last week; it looks crazy but it's a good technique. I managed to pull it off in BJJ last night from open guard after my opponent stood up.

when I start going back to my MMA class I will keep your opinion and this video in mind. Glad you gave the reply back. I have never done or seen this technique before. Catch Wrestling is old but these days it seems like the new thing on the totem pole. If you like, I posted a test punching tutorial on my uploads account. I think you may like and find find some new things about punching that you did not know before. Than again you might have. Check it out if you get a chance.

    Quite a few actually.
I am a blue belt and I've pulled it off against other, more experienced blue belts of similar size/weight.
The only problem I find with this technique is that there is not much margin for error. You have to be very precise with your positioning or it won't work. If you hit it right it's very effective.

Really, also how many times has it worked since then, where they equall or greater weight to you, and also how experience and skilled were they in grappling. This looks like it could work to me but I like to get good opinions. thank you.

Interesting. Silat has takedowns that trap the leg/ankle in the same fashion as that first single leg.
Edit: 3:12 seen that in silat/harimau too.

Its always good to go over things even if they are low percentage but I can't help but state that a lot of these types of techniques do more harm than good to the efficiency of a grappler. The single leg variation was fine and interesting but the toe submission added in is not realistic and if you are a grappler wasting time training these moves, you could be spending more of your time with better higher percentage techniques to better yourself.

If you have the ankle deep in your knee the ankle lock is right there.
I find it doesn't stay there often but when it's there the fight is over quickly

If you get pulled down from a high single from a guy who isn't bearing any weight on you when he throws his leg back from a sprawl; 1) you're not going to be able to secure that foot 2) you really have no fundamentals in wrestling
