    Thanks for the video, I thought I was already doing well in javelin for a junior in highschool but after finding your channel and using tips like this and the finnish grip video I genuinely found quick fixes and good practice material and you helped me jump a 26 ft PR to 177 feet! Thanks to your tips I was able to get my school record, qualify for nationals, and become current NJ #2. I really appreciate these videos and hope you continue to make more of them!

    Thank you for all of your content and sharing of knowledge! I went D1 in the javelin and thought I knew how to throw it at a decently high level. But even just watching your most basic videos I've learned so much and corrected misconceptions I had as an athlete. Now that I'm a first year high school coach I can't recommend your videos to my athletes enough as I struggle to effectively communicate/explain things to them. You make it all seem and sound so simple in the best way

      I’m thrilled you’re coaching! Kids need support and there are too few javelin coaches out there. I’m happy to help. Good luck this season!

      Thank you and good luck to both yourself & your athletes this year! I hope to report back at the end of the season with kids hitting the marks they're looking for.@@coachhalley

    I noticed another coach here. I have been asked to take up coaching the high school team in Teton Valley Idaho. Idaho just opened up the javelin this year. And I threw in high school and college, but never coached. Your teaching is really helping me to break it down into small steps. I am trying to get the high school to purchase your course.

      That is awesome! I'm glad Idaho is finally throwing javelin! Lots of opportunity over there. I'm glad you're coaching. Our sport needs coaches!!

    Hi Scott. I'm impressed with your approach to javelin coaching. You have good technique and your training methods seem relevant. I'd be interested to hear your take on strength and conditioning training and pre-season plyometric training. Keep up the good work. Fellow javelin thrower, based in the UK.

      Thank you! At some point I'll make videos about my training methods. I'm always curious what athletes and coaches are interested in watching. Looking forward to a trip to the UK! Wishing you all the best from the States!

    hey coach i was wondering about the spearworks raptor javelin. Is the handle tighter thinner rope like nordic javs or thickers like nemeth javs?

    • @coachhalley
      @coachhalley  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s thinner. I’m not sure if Erick at Spearwerx does different cord sizes. You could probably ask him on his website. Cord feel is important!

    Hi coach! I really like your videos it teaches me a lot .but I’m having a really important competition on this year’s November . For now I’m throwing 40m (pb) , but my goal is to throw 58m . Is there any tip for me to throw farther? Thanks (I’m 15 years old)

      Excellent! The best way is increase your length of pull. Bigger range of motion the more opportunity to accelerate. Wishing you the best this season!

    Coach, what is your prefered ball weight for this type of drill? Is it advisable to use 2kg ball? or it is just slowing the arm speed?

    • @coachhalley
      @coachhalley  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, a 1.5k is probably my max for this but moving between ball weights can help with slowing things down and also speeding things up.
