These short videos of yours are great. I am new to coaching at our high school. I am 70 years old and love javelin throwing in high school and college. Continued throwing as a hobby, but never coach. So I share these short videos with my interested, young throwers, and then work with them on these at the beginning of the practice
Love it! I really appreciate you sharing my videos. The javelin community is small but growing! Let me know if there’s a topic you would want to see covered.
excellent, as always. Just to complement with an idea to reinforce the block. When landing with the left foot, the landing should be flat, not with the heel, in order to help keeping the left leg stiff.
I agree. I like a flat foot as well. I’ll be posting a video soon about the foot landing. I have a thrower that has a habit of a toe first block and you can see an unstable block consistently.
That’s hard to say. Maybe others can comment. The first time I threw 60m in high school I was 140lbs and bench pressed around 150 lbs with around 180 lbs squat. Not sure about cleans. My philosophy is centered around technique to maximize your distance no matter how strong you are.

@@coachhalley likewise, heel first leads to collapse in the block leg due to momentum forces.
Thank you so much sir❤❤❤
Thanks you!
Owesome!

What part of the throw are you referring to?
Hi coach, new to your channel here. Was wondering if u had a video regarding how to use more of my chest?
I can’t remember at the moment if I have one specifically on using the chest. I’ll add that topic to my list. Thanks!
What is the benchpress, squat and clean weight required to throw a javelin 60 meters?

@@coachhalley thank you!
Hey coach, how hard I try I could not use my hip in my throw, can you suggest some drills?
This is a popular video. It has specifics to hip and shoulder separation and may help: th-cam.com/video/H0MiISHC2ao/w-d-xo.html
