Hello Leila! Thanks a million for your teaching materials, they are helpful. I have a question: After combining sheets with VSTACK, I can't turn the data into an Excel Table. Why is it so? What can I do to keep the data Dynamic? Thank you for your feedback!
This was awesome Leila. Being able to showcase all of that in under 7 minutes is pretty amazing. I struggle with keeping my videos short myself. The production value of your content is amazing. Well done.
VSTACK??? ... I'm speechless ... another stunning display of Excel mastery ... Some people look forward to Friday's ... I look forward to Thursdays ... w/Leila ... 😍 PS " ... we just had to switch things up for a change ... let me know what you thought about it ..." 😞 ... 🥱 ... 😴 ...
I have been following you and it has resulted in me signing up for your courses on Udemy. Although I have to take several attempts at the lessons it is great using your practice files so I can concentrate on developing my understanding of the functions. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have been struggling with using the filter function wrapped on VSTACK until I noticed something. I MISSED the fact your condition was for only 1 column, not the whole row. My Value# error is gone and it works! My project is saved. Thank you!
Very cool function. Thanks for sharing! I recently solved this same scenario but with VBA. It was a very small loop but also considered the last row of each sheet to ensure there will never be missed info. Thanks again!
Far from the main purpose of reports which is documentation I don't know what the size of the company you work for, but as a professional management approach, top position people prefer short reports. An example in the field of construction in which I work is that area managers are interested in achieving the Milestone without details, and project managers are interested in achieving a number of activities without details. And construction managers are the ones who care about this huge amount of reports.
Leila Gharani !!! She does it again Thank you !! I will be implementing this soon, You have taken by the hand from a below average excel user to Finance Executive level execution in a few months. You are one of the best things to happen to my career.
I feel superman among my colleagues, I have gone through all your videos on UDEMY as well as TH-cam, many thanks for making our job easier, more power to you, and about your acting style in this video, since your content is so informative you don’t need it, however it’s making video more interesting.. Thanks (your follower from India)..
This is just a master blaster... I love using these tricks, playing around, and doing analysis with data. The beauty of the array functions is that the file size does not increase significantly.. Thank you Laila awesome stuff.
Thank you so much for this video, it was great reminder that formulas can be built with main intent, then sub requests added in as they were requested, all too often many of us build the formula from the beginning to the end, and forget we accomplish one goal, then add another goal, and so forth. Example, delivery and content was fantastic -- Thank you !
Thank you for this heads up. This is a function I really want. For a long time iferror was the life changing function. Sumifs came along. Then the dynamic arrays improved my life. This will solve so many questions from auditors.
OMG😲 I had no clue about this before today. In actual tasks on our jobs, things would be so much easier...just using this, esp. the VSTACK....simply wow👌. Thanks Leila👍🏻
I loved this! I am relatively novice with excel but I've learned a massive amount from you. I found the other day that I did not know how to stack data without manual copy pasting and have been trying to figure that out for nearly a month. Thank you for showing this vstack formula!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I was literally just having this issue at work and now I can use this in real time! You're so great at making excel accessible! You're making me a superstar at work
Really enjoyed your helium voice for the newbie :) Great info too. I've been using Excel for ages and didn't know about the 3D worksheet referencing (I thought that was dead with Lotus 123) or the { bracket feature. Many thanks.
This is amazing Leila! I wished I had seen your video a few months ago when I had to figure this out on my own by try and error yet though I came to the same set of formulas I realized that doing so in Power query was less messier and more customizable. It's still great to know that the same result can be achieved in different ways
Tip, freeze header rows. The sooner you do that in the process, the more you'll benefit. I know Leila knows that and surely she's covered it in other videos, but it's hugely useful for what she does on this one.
@@cruzinsweetsntreats When you have more than a screenful of data you then always immediately see/know which column you're operating on. Bonus, as Leila smartly uses keyboard instead of mouse in many situations (because it's faster, more accurate, and allows undistracted visual focus), control home stope at the top of the data instead of top of the worksheet (though some may not find that to be an advantage).
@@Bill_Woo that's what I realized moments later, as old-skool, compared to converting a range to a table, which then the header row is automatically programmed to do just that, show at the top when scrolling down. 🤫👍😁 I've now got mine to include a conditionally formatted group of columns that are calculating my mileage, just outside the vstack, yet in my Pivot Table range for use. 👍
@@Bill_Woo I've done split screen before, but wasn't putting the 2 together. Though in searching, if I desired, I found the proper method of adding the table header on each page, for the same reason, continuity of the data.
I thought excel was going to get to best of me until I found your video. I have used Excel for 20+ years and with all of the new stuff it is hard to keep up. Thank you for all of your videos to help out.
I was thinking of how am I going to combine a bunch of files by copy paste, till I saw this video... I asked the question yesterday and this video pops up in my home youtube page today... Amazing! That just solved yesterday's problem for me. Thank you :D
Excellent tutorials by you! These new functions are so useful. For the headers, when working with Tables, I find it easier by just adding the header row from the first table once --> 𝐕𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐊(𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝟏[#𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬],Table1,Table2,Table3).
Finally Excel gets this function, Lotus123 had it back in the early 1990's, except sheets in Lotus didn't have to be identically laid out, columns in sheets could be in any order and some sheets could have extra columns, also could add rows to individual sheets as definition of the array was dynamic.
Honestly I always thought I was quite advanced in Excel but it is amazing how you overlook small things that can actually be very useful. Thank you so much Leila for your videos and especially how you go through the formulas in a step by step way so it is easy enough for me to keep up. I learned more from you than the official advanced classroom training I had.

Nice! I love the situational approach and humor, awesome way to learn! I love "Learning with Leila"!
