- From humble beginnings as a pushcart vendor outside Tanjong Katong pubs, Lau Hong Ser has come a long way since settling into Dunman Food Centre in 1974. Now, 50 years later, second-generation owner Mr. Lim Khai Nee proudly carries on the legacy.
Committed to tradition, Mr. Lim still uses charcoal grilling to infuse a subtle smoky flavour into each dish. He also crafts his own signature Penang-style hei-ko (shrimp paste), chilli paste, and roasted peanuts in-house. This attention to detail and dedication to heritage is a testament to his passion for preserving the legacy.
With only two items on the menu - fruit Rojak and grilled Tau Pok with You Tiao and cuttlefish - each bite is a masterclass in umami flavors. These old-school classics are a must-try!.
