FOAM CATCH! I thought we would never K5LA horns on GO Transit ever again, but seeing 249 have the K5LA horn still surviving, railfans are probably gonna go out for GO 249 constantly now. Today is also a very special day for me because it's my birthday and I am officially 17.
Yea yea I get it. But just a reminder, I prefer classic k5la’s over newer k5la’s. So 6905’s k5la is great and all but whatever it takes, it doesn’t change my mind. Go transit’s cab car 249’s however does perceive a best raised letter k5la because it’s sound like 6905 but a little better. But honestly I just prefer classic k5la’s. And honestly you can’t tell me that it’s better than 6908 that would be a criminal offense if you comparing 6905 to the legendary 6908.
That sounds AMAZING! I never thought I would see any posts of hearing this horn again on GO Transit. This Raised Letter tone needs to be installed on a CEM cab control coach for sure.
Awesome Catch with the K5LA on GO Transit!! as stated in GamingRailfanners video, these horns were ONLY mandated on locomotives, so 242-250 also will (hopefully) have these. lets just hope GO doesn't put it back in the yard however this is the only actually working rebuilt cab car right now.
@@supermariotransitfan1662 yes, but they had K5CA's, (which they had before the second rebuild) and GO would always take them out of service after half a day due to testing, though 214 actually ran for a month between august and September 2024.
Yes 249. Beautiful K5LA horn. The horn of my childhood. Thanks so much for posting this. I thought I saw a refurbished cab car today. Are there any others reactivated recently yet or are 214 and 249 the only ones so far right now?
That K5LA is dope, hopefully I'll be able to catch it on my way into Toronto this week. Do you know if it's only running on the Niagara Excursion/Barrie Line? Or is this new cab car running in normal passenger service along ALL lines?
Why did they paint over the warning stripes with the new livery on these? Seems a weird decision because now the car really does blend in with its surroundings when viewed from the front. Especially in winter!
when will this go up the barrie line, if we finally got a k5la in service since 2017 this might be what railfans have been waiting for, canada has been saved
I'm surprised that this is even running!!! That's the first train with a K5LA in service since 2017!
@@trainboy647 Agreed! :D
Me too
@trainboy647: I like K5LAs the best
I’m glad that some go train fiiiiiiiinally has a new K5LA!
Amazing catch!

@@Train_and_bus_fan Happy Birthday Buddy! :D
Awesome Catch! Love the K5LA! :D
@@tylerm666 Thank you! It truly brings back memories :)
@ Same Here! :D
Surprisingly that’s the best raised letter k5la ever.
What about Amtrak 6905?

W CATCH! Did not expect this one to still have a K5LA but here we are!
That sounds AMAZING! I never thought I would see any posts of hearing this horn again on GO Transit. This Raised Letter tone needs to be installed on a CEM cab control coach for sure.
It cant, Alstom made the CEM cab cars have the K5CA as a fixed horn
@ I know, but something about this enhancement getting my attention made me want to hear that on those CEM coaches.
The iconic GO Transit K5LA is back. IMO the rules should be lifted and K5LAs should make a comeback in Canada
Great catch!
The Classic K5LA horn is back

K5LA LETS GOOO
Lets go guys its back

Yes, 214 & 249 are the only ones in service so far.
@@TracksideKitcheneroh ok. When should we expect to see 214 enter service again since it’s been in the yard due to some mechanical issues?
@@transittown7891 214 will come back eventually.

This could go on the Richmond hill line because it’s a 10 car set! Foammm
Why did they paint over the warning stripes with the new livery on these? Seems a weird decision because now the car really does blend in with its surroundings when viewed from the front. Especially in winter!
They're on the front but with White reflective tape. Its kinda hard to see them in the daylight
@@supermariotransitfan1662 Yeah, should've made them the lighter shade of green.
K5LA!!!! HELL yahhhh! GO Transit's icon horn. Imo sounds better than the k5ca-ls.
yoo nice catch!!
Awesome RL K5LA So much better than those Janky K5CA
How did GO get away with this? Unless its like the Amtrak K5LA's where its a raised letter
The K5CA-LS was only allowed on Passenger Locomotives, not Cab Cars.
@@TracksideKitchener Oh ok
Correction: The K5CA is mandated for locomotives that travel over 65 MPH (essentially passenger locomotives), it doesn't say anything about cab cars
I need to see one of the RCCs as a 6 car im alr ready for one
