You simply get behind this camera, slightly knock it over, then wait for the guy to come back and readjust it. Then you make that phone call to your friend's friend's friend who works at a scrapyard and goes by the name "Crusher".

its extremely important that criminals have rights, probably more so than you yourself having rights as a non criminal, because if someone wanted to take your rights away (like owning a firearm perhaps) all they would have to do is accuse you of a crime, label you a criminal, and youre now fuxed because you dont think criminals should have rights.
besides that, you cant punish someone for something they havent done. you cant even punish some for something they PROBABLY will do

You’ll never be able to stop this. There is no such thing as ‘privacy’ and you should always assume you are being observed, and you are. Especially in your own home. If you have Alexa abs Siri and tick tok and social media, all of these things ask you to turn on your microphone and you think it’s so you can ask these spies questions, but you are really granting them full surveillance. Your front camera is watching where your eyes are looking when you shop on Amazon, and you are then targeted by advertising that’s specific to what you glanced at. So remember, nothing is private. Everything you do is recorded and documented. All of it. It’ll never go back to what it was.

Turning into the police was mistake. The neighborhood should've pitched in to hire a private investigative firm. Even a novice can learn how to lift prints from the inside and SD card. Then you can hire tech company to do the rest. Because the modem sends these pictures to an email and often straight to a phone.
Back home in the Midwest we use these on trails to see what animals use a trail or area, and when. Also used to monitor your lands for trespassers. Although to be honest most don't care as long as your NOT hunting or taking anything away or littering.

Also found some across road on property neither of us own. I called a few locals and we went and talked to them. They moved from inner city and they had to have them there. And he said we were crazy if we didn't also have cameras.

    • @jimmy_kirk

It's not connected to a cell phone... it's just a wifi hotspot that any device can connect to. That's why the home owners were able access the pictures on it. Literally anyone could have accessed the camera's wifi hotspot and check out the pictures.
Your logic is so illogical... "our kids are being monitor who may be left waiting for pick up by late parents"... the parents aren't picking the kids... the bus takes them to and from school... from their home.
And if someone were actually using the camera to determine when to steal your kids from the bus stop... they would have to be sitting down the road... in a vehicle... close enough to access the camera's wifi... and if they were that close... why would they need the camera?
It seems more logical that the camera was placed there by an insurance company attempting to catch someone claiming to be injured in a false claim, than to be placed there by someone who wants to steal children...

If they do get the import of this and refuse to act then they are corrupt or lazy and need to be fired. It sounds like they have not taken this seriously nor deigned to do any investigation apart from taking a statement, looking at the video, washing their hands and getting back to their internet surfing. If this was a bus stop where an important person's kids were being recorded then maybe they would make the effort. They haven't tried to rack the purchase of the two trail cams nor have they triangulated cell signals to get the phone number and Id the creep that way. Zero effort. Saw one just last night in my neighbor's yard, pointed directly at my house. These same people cut every single tree down in that side yard. (I'm on a corner so my backyard faces the side of their house) They have also been systematically denuding my row of cypress trees in my yard along my split rail fence. Suddenly, I find there's a camera aimed at my screened back porch, back door and possibly my bedroom windows? Creepy. It's a quiet neighborhood with no crime... I could understand a camera there pointed toward the front or toward the rear to catch anyone sneaking around the side of the house toward their screened porch, patio and pool, but pointing it at my house serves no protective purpose.

Technology has outpaced antiquated laws and lacks an understanding of how criminals use technology; the person who set up these cameras would have already released the compromised devices, wiped anything stored in the cloud, and deleted their accounts. Jim Browning, a TH-camr that tries to stop phone scammers, couldn't get the police to drive to a local shop and prevent this lady from converting $12,000 from her bank account into bitcoins and sending it off to the scammers because "The lady would have to call the police first" it's so infuriating.

@Steve Fox Much respect. I understood that part of it. Just saying that prevention of something tragic is key here. If the guy was hanging out everyday in front of those homes and someone reported him, officers would probably be called to have him checked out. In this case, he places cameras and slips away in darkness. The residents should take caution for the simple fact that they don't know his intentions. I personally wouldn't want anything to happen to a child in our society, being a father of 2 myself, but unfortunately it does occur. When we come across such events in the news, it's extremely sad and disturbing. I'm just glad that the cams were discovered, and the residents will be aware. Stay blessed.

@Steve Fox Track the purchaser of the trail cams, if possible. Triangulate the cell phone and identify the number. This is what they are paid to do. Find out who placed it there and talk to them. We do not spend untold billions on law enforcement because we want them to identify the person that raped and killed our 9-year-old daughter, we hire them to take steps to make it not happen. They actually have a potential chance here to take a potential predator down. If that's not the situation then that's fine.
