I agree on all points except the last one. It's not the fault of the whole team. Yes, most of the players failed, but only in final match. They played superb cricket in the whole tournament. saying that we should be ashamed of our team, is a bit too harsh. They played like shit only in the final,where they were expected to play their best, but they were exceptional in league matches. This shows that they were capable of winning, but they shattered like glass which is a mental thing
You don't think about it until you are forced under that situation. Look at the last knockouts in ICC. We were chasing in and lost early wickets, especially last one when we were 3 down under 20. Anyway It's hard to defend a total that you already know very much underpar, that's a mental issue. If you put Australia in that situation, most probably they would have lost the match mentally before actually losing it.

We have players like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer who are more focused on securing a place in playing XI rather than taking risk and do something out of Ordinary. Anything below 300 against Australia wasn't defendable, be 180 or 250 it wouldn't had matter. Rohit was playing accordingly and to some extent Kohli also did the same. Our batting failed when KL Rahul started playing dot balls. You can't just Play 50+ dot balls in a World Cup Final and that too against a Team like Australia and expect to get away with it. (Same he does in IPL). Had SKY or Jadeja got to play those 30-50 odd balls they would've added 35-55 runs even on that difficult pitch and a score of 280+ definitely would have created pressure on Aussies to take risks and that's where Our Bowlers had the chance to take wickets. We don't need GREAT Players.. WE NEED CHAMPION PLAYERS, who don't choke in Finals. God Knows how much I was missing RIshabh Pant yesterday. Their pace trio is still understated. It is a truly great attack of Starc Cummins Hazelwood.....we just dont see them performing until it does actually matter. I actually wished for South Africa to win this World Cup (they won the Rugby World Cup this year) so Cricket gets a big boost there. I wanted India vs Australia Final to be in South Africa where India avenges the 2003 defeat. I really like that the next World Cup will have 16 teams again & T20 World Cups will have 20 teams. I really want Cricket to become big globally & the international nature (i.e. Nation vs Nation) to be the main feature of the game. I don't want IPL or any other T20 league to take away the international nature of the game or to even reduce it. I don't consider fans who only like an IPL team, only a single Indian player or only t20 leagues to be good for Cricket.
Australia played well, because they know how to play cricket in the knockouts. From 6 years old to 40 years old know atleast one sport. Our bowling was made to look extremely mediocre. We have the best batsmen who perform only to make personal records but never perform on the big stage when it's really needed. In my opinion Dhoni is the greatest of all times followed closely by Kapil Dev because they had nerves of steel and were not selfish cricketers. Really miss Dhoni so much.
Kholi should have been the aggressor. Considering all the World Cup experience he has, having lived,breathed a similar situation and succeeded a million times he should have switched gears and created some panic. Most of our elite athletes play AFL and to a lesser extent Rugby. Over 700 professional places in 18 teams in AFL ( Alex Carey is one who played both ) against 11 in cricket. AFL may not be the biggest sport in the world but I believe it has the highest demands on physical fitness and athletic ability of any sport. Imagine our cricket team if all those guys played cricket instead?

I actually wished for South Africa to win this World Cup (they won the Rugby World Cup this year) so Cricket gets a big boost there. I wanted India vs Australia Final to be in South Africa where India avenges the 2003 defeat.
I really like that the next World Cup will have 16 teams again & T20 World Cups will have 20 teams. I really want Cricket to become big globally & the international nature (i.e. Nation vs Nation) to be the main feature of the game. I don't want IPL or any other T20 league to take away the international nature of the game or to even reduce it. I don't consider fans who only like an IPL team, only a single Indian player or only t20 leagues to be good for Cricket.
Australia played well, because they know how to play cricket in the knockouts. From 6 years old to 40 years old know atleast one sport. We Indians are too invested in cricket so everytime there is a hype. At the end, India played absolutely great. Much much better than 2022 T20 world cup. we shouldn't be sad

Our bowling was made to look extremely mediocre. We have the best batsmen who perform only to make personal records but never perform on the big stage when it's really needed. In my opinion Dhoni is the greatest of all times followed closely by Kapil Dev because they had nerves of steel and were not selfish cricketers. Really miss Dhoni so much.

AFL may not be the biggest sport in the world but I believe it has the highest demands on physical fitness and athletic ability of any sport.
