I think a proper boat style has a certain appeal. So many yachts try to make you feel as if you're in anything but a boat, which in itself is not a bad thing, but this is a nice reminder you are actually at sea in a boat and not just a luxury apartment with a stunning ocean view.
This. While you can replicate classic design, at somepoint after 2010 they stopped paying attention to these sorts of clean lines. Look at me commenting like I can drop 75k on a boat, much less 750k
@@sh0 Depends. Looking at this channel, you may have classic motor yachts in lines similar to this example, small boats like i.e. Nordhavn designs, various racers and then - yacht-homes. For me as a person from inland country, my eyes are more focused on those yachts/ships types than fast boats and luxury homes as idea of yachting is more about spending time on sea under sails of propeller than moving to place of interest by boat and living on that boat instead of going there by car and living in rented house or hotel. The latter in my eyes provides not that much of an difference.
What a proper passage maker too! Love the fact that she has the serious shore power gear, the red helm station lights, the fuel gear and all the works. Comfy accommodations too. What a find, Nick! Loved every moment of the tour!
That was definitely one of my favorites yet that I've seen on the channel - felt so traditional and yet still very comfortable. It probably helped that it has clearly been impeccably maintained, but that's par for the course on Nick's tours. But I have to say that every space seemed so well-thought-out and practical, while retaining a real feeling of class and comfort. The accommodation was also quite surprising - the master in particular was pretty stunning IMO. Thanks for bringing us this one, while braving the train whistles and the like, Nick!
Hard to believe the price considering its abilities and ownership history. You're absolutely correct about the timeless design and accommodations. I don't think it's lacking at all for interior comfort. The owner's cabin is huge for a boat of that length and I love the condition of the silvery grey unfinished teak all around the rails. Exterior stainless is not maintenances free it's just less labor intensive to keep looking new and someone obviously took great care of her. The view of the harbor where she's berthed is just exquisite! A million USD or so is a bargain and you don't get to say that very often.
What a lovely little yacht. You could take her out for a week and not feel like you needed to hurry back. A proper little ship indeed. Thank you for another wonderful tour Nick and I hope Maggie isn't jealous of Jack.
I have to say, it’s the 70ft and under “little ships” and trawler style yachts that interest me the most. In fact I’d say anything over 80ft just feels like a floating hotel review!
Now this little boat has all the charm and character of big vessels but in a charming way, I’m just loving her, i would be very proud to own her. Thank you Nick loved it 👍👍👍
My favourite boat or "little ship" You missed the top opening freezer in the galley. I really love your tours but especially when you do boats like these, your enthusiasm really shines through.
Aquastar boats are built in Guernsey in the Channel Islands if I'm not mistaken and are a proper bruiser in relation to their seakeeeping capabilities etc. Another interesting tour of this beautifully well kept boat nick one that has definately stood the test of time.
I agree, but am surprised at her rather limited range for a seagoing vessel. I absolutely love her, but wonder if auxiliary fuel tanks could be fitted in somewhere.
Absolutely love it ! Its condition is a credit to its current & previous owners .. if only I could afford it ☺️. Thanks for another fabulous review Nick, enjoyed that ! Cheers 😉
A kind of superyacht in a modest gift box! Many younger yachts look worn out. Compliments to the owners who owned this beautiful ship. A lot of boat for a modest price! Thanks Nick!
Really nice boat and the accommodations are quite nice for the size. I have seen 80 plus foot boats with little more room but still only 3 cabins. This is more usable, can go into shallower waters and cross the channel!
Well done Nick. You do such a fine job of a walk through, and you make it look easy. Also, it's nice to see a boat that is clearly being used in real life, and not just a beauty queen at a boat show.
I love everything about that apart from its missing a genuinely comfy sofa to relax on indoors when the weather is poor. Anyone who’s spent a bit of time on boats knows the upright space saving style furniture like is opposite the galley is ok to sit on for a short time but not great for lounging on. Other than that, perfection.
Nice yacht buddy. I like the design layout. That master bedroom was awesome or using one of your words it was a "proper" master bedroom. I love to listen to you English people talk from England because we don't talk like that in the United States here, mainly in rural Missouri. But I'd take this boat on vacation or use as a live aboard because it would be so easy to keep clean I'd think. I loved the upper fly bridge the most. It has a great layout for this size for a "proper" cruiser. An the galley is perfect for making meals while you have 6 or even 12 people onboard fishing and or in the water playing around. Perfect vacation boat especially if you have children or teenagers because they make messes and I think it would be easy to clean up with floors like that. The boat or small yacht is beautiful especially since I've never seen another one like it or even close to it before from all the channels I've been watching. But Nick I have to say, your channel is my number one favorite, plus that I am faithfully watcher. When I see you posted a new video, I have to see what you found because I know it's going to be worth watching. Love your channel buddy. Great job, and you earned another 'at a boy award' from me here in Missouri. I can't wait to see what you post next time. I still wish you would make a specs page showing us all the details like, the length, width, numbers of gallons fuel tanks are, water, the max range it can go in nautical miles, an what speeds with NM, size of motors, number of bedrooms and or with number of crew beds. Please think about it.
A lovely tour, thank you. I love these kind of boats no fuss just good solid engineering, you can imagine going serious distance across the oceans on a vest like this. Thanks again.
A really well kept and upgraded Aquastar. Probably better than a new boat of modern design, and certainly looks better than the outrageous designs of recent times. For 750k an absolute win, win!
What a lovely boat, the galley is one of the best IMO I've seen. She a proper boat an off shore from 2009. So he maybe an older boat but she compares well with her younger sisters motor yachts. I love to see her at sea, as she copes with the different sea conditions.
That's a nice little ship, I can see why you liked it as well. For me it just feels like it needs a little bit updating on the inside in terms of seats etc
Just about perfect - I would hardly change a thing about it, and although it has had a few upgrades, it is both classic and modern. I'd like the marina berth too!
Always love small ships. This one is beautiful. Very well maintained and very practical with nice interiors. The living spaces are surprisingly great with nothing feeling cramped really. Thank you so much Nick. Great video as always :)
I like this one Nick.. I could see myself living on this for the rest of my life.. maybe based in the puget sounds area of Washington state/Canada thanks..
The Dockpower system is a slick piece of kit; it lets you combine two shore power cables into a single supply to feed all your electrical loads. So if you're on two smaller shore lines (32A each) and you have 40A of HVAC gear on board, you won't trip the shore breaker from going over 32A on one service; instead it'll pull equally from both services, combine them, then distribute them as needed to the rest of the boat. Really nice stuff for staying in smaller marinas without running the generator during the day.
What a beautiful vessel, practical, sturdy and obviously loved and looked after by it's current owner, I'd sooner have this vessel than any of the multi million dollar mega yachts that you have shown, this is a real boat, thank you Nick and I do hope that you show more of this type and quality of vessel. Fair winds.😊
Nice Nick very nice this Aquastar 57 from 2009 i love boats like this semidisplacment yachts with a unique galley aft the bridge and dining combined great 3 cabins below the guest share a bathroom the master there own and a great looking fly bridge on top but the price is still high for a 15 year old boat Thanks Nick what a show ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After years of your tours, I daresay I'm a bit spoiled and think $750K for this wonderful ship is cheap for all you'd get. I could live very comfortably aboard, and just weigh anchor as the seasons change. The owner has kept it spotless, and upgraded through it's years too. TY Nick, as always.
What a lovely traditional and comfortable boat - it's so refreshing to sea a real sea boat that's built for making voyages rather than the normal poncey gin-palaces designed for sitting in a marina!
Hello :) I caught you taking a breath or two on this one. I think you like this boat as much as I do. It is kind of at home no matter where it is, relaxed or stormy. I see it doing both quite well. I do love that you said "it is not built around being roomy but more for at sea". Take care 🙂
Nick! What a gem.... This is such a proper boat or ship as you said.... This is truly remarkable. I love these more or less unknown trawler yachts/ Boats that can go anywhere but don't occupy the whole marina. You have really found a very nice little ship. And it also feels - sizewise - like the interior can manage the number of guests. And if one were a bit creative, you could fit a pair of barstools in front of the gally, or a smaller table in front of the settee opposite the gally. This is really a well proportioned ship, thank you so much for this walkthrough ...!!
Raise the kitchen couch up to bar or kitchen counter height and put a step up where you can rest your feet. Maybe I'm wrong, but the way it looks now when you sit there you'd look at the wood/kitchen counter, you wouldn't be eye level with that beautiful window over the sink.
That’s a huge amount of Boat in 57’ and seems remarkable value for money. Don’t know about anyone else but I would be interested in your honest thoughts about the Pros and Cons of older vessels. They just seem like incredible value on the face of it but as with anything second hand there are obviously things to look out for.
Beautiful vessel!!! I'm betting she rides pretty nice in chop with that hull shape and CAT A rating. I think that's a very under-rated part of enjoying your boat, even if the seas are a bit rough you aren't getting tossed all over the place. Also the condition is OUTSTANDING, a real testament to the build quality along with the LOVE the previous owner gave her.
love these Aquastar's . Classic design with enough luxury to make it a very comfortable "wave basher' . I'd prefer a smaller galley ( my cooking skills really don't justify one of that size ! ) with more space given over to a proper rear salon space but otherwise a beautiful boat. Thanks for the tour Nick !
That's lovely Nick. Nicest boat reviewed by you since your report on MY Hush. Almost as good as a Fleming 58 (and a lot cheaper.) Super condition too, obviously been loved. The galley takes up too much room IMO for a non Med based motor yacht, but if kept in the Med, well you would mostly be outside. But that's being really picky! Love the little nod to Musto with the well known orange Musto sticker on the aft cockpit doors!! 😎
oh my. if i had any budget i would love to buy this and take it to setag to do whatever they can dream to it. what a lovely lovely tank this is. perfect to circumnavigate the british isles.
I really like that, my type of boat. The clutter in every drawer, cupboard, space and otherwise was sending my OCD into orbit. Only thing I would change if it was mine would be all the seating in the boat, it all looked so formal and uncomfortable….. oh…and oil the teak
After seeing you and your mate trip video, beautiful scenery. the open water. This ship would be a nice step up for you guys to take longer trips. She is still beautiful looking😊😊😊
I agree, it is a proper little ship. As far as the interior is concerned, it is beautifully apportioned. Especially as it is 15 years old. They still had a good number of boats with wet heads instead of seperate showers 20 years ago. They didnt try to squeeze 3 cabins into 40 foot boats or four cabins into 50+ boats. Today you are going to see that. An older, well maintained boat is the way to go, as far as I am concerned. You don't have to deal with the order and design, then wait process. You save some 50-60% on the initial cost and the alteration is still only going to add back maybe 20% because after market products can be used and work done by a good local shop. Sending a boat bake to the manufacturers will cost a fortune and take more time, even if you aren't changing bulkheads. The only thing I am not fond of on any boat is teak decking. The upkeep is costly unless you learn how to complete that sort of thing DIY. If you DIY it is time consuming. I prefer the white nonslip decking or the fake teak.
I've watched and enjoyed many of your videos. I remember you featuring a large Hardy, perhaps a 50, at that marina. It was similar to that boat in many ways. However the real similarity was that rather iconic train in the background! Maybe one day you'll do a video of it, if you already havnt. It's just such a feature of that particular part of the world.
For a little ship but 70Ft the range of navigation might need larger fuel tanks etc. But a 2009 may not yet be fitted with alternative power such as Solar Panels. What is the safety gear on these types of boats do they have Life Rafts with emergency foods & medical supplies with Sat Nat equipment? All good thanks for showing this boat which comes with Style and luxury..
Now, this is a little ship i could see you on, Nick. Update little things every year, enjoying the craftmanship. Those leather seats look like they are new.
@@AQUAHOLIC Have the same but sadly not this wonderful yacht. For someone living in 2 different continents separated by the Atlantic, this thing is a wonder.
Thank you, Nick this one here is a very nice vessel probably within my price range if it was in the gulf coast of the United States lol very nice sea going vessel
Gorgeous little ship. She must have had a refit at some point in her 15 years because she looks so unused. The only thing giving away her age are the curves for the sake of curves and the blue leather upholstery. Thanks for the tour!
Those marina shots remind me of the west country calanders mum n dad used to get sent to here in NZ from relatives there . . Id buy that boat in a heart beat . . . Couple of things id change but great boat oops sorry . . Little ship lol Nice walk through Nick . . Also nice to see Jack enjoying himself . . Till next time take care . Bye from NZ👋🇳🇿🍻
Back in the days of my youth, the last century that is and pre internet, the brokerage pages of MB&Yachting often had 'Aqua Star - Nelson' for sale for lots of wonga. When you do these little retro tours Nick you can see why the lots of wonga was justified. Super boats. Why else would the pilot service back in the day use the commercial version? Sturdy and reliable and sea keeping other boat builders envied. Like a previous commenter said, the new boats can be like luxury apartments; with the basement flooded. You should do more Retro tours Nick, cater for us nostalgic older tars confined to the hard.
I think a proper boat style has a certain appeal. So many yachts try to make you feel as if you're in anything but a boat, which in itself is not a bad thing, but this is a nice reminder you are actually at sea in a boat and not just a luxury apartment with a stunning ocean view.

For a fifteen-year old ship, this has been well loved and maintained. Another great little ship tour from Aquaholic.

Obviously a very well cared for boat. The condition, spec and upgrades speak volumes about the previous owners.
I'd love to own her.
Ideal for leisurely hops down to Portugal and back plus able to fit into marinas and anchorages that bigger boats cant get into.
The super yachts are nice but this one is more my style, I'm sure you love that one too, thanks for the morning tour.
Thanks for watching!
Very well loved vessel. All the features of a home away from home in a proper ship format. Well done, thank you! 🍷

Very impressive boat with some nice upgrades to the electronics.
Wonderful tour as ever Nick, thank you.

She looks great for her age, nice wood work throughout, I like the owners cabin. Nice tour Nick thank you.

Hello :) I caught you taking a breath or two on this one. I think you like this boat as much as I do. It is kind of at home no matter where it is, relaxed or stormy. I see it doing both quite well. I do love that you said "it is not built around being roomy but more for at sea". Take care 🙂
Very nice. I'm not a big fan of a glossy wood finish either, so this is much more to my taste. It wears its age well.
Nick! What a gem.... This is such a proper boat or ship as you said.... This is truly remarkable. I love these more or less unknown trawler yachts/ Boats that can go anywhere but don't occupy the whole marina. You have really found a very nice little ship. You're very welcome! 🙂
Raise the kitchen couch up to bar or kitchen counter height and put a step up where you can rest your feet. Maybe I'm wrong, but the way it looks now when you sit there you'd look at the wood/kitchen counter, you wouldn't be eye level with that beautiful window over the sink.

Nice size rooms for the length. A boat with a lived-in feeling. (Loved the trip to Portsmouth)
That's lovely Nick. Nicest boat reviewed by you since your report on MY Hush. Almost as good as a Fleming 58 (and a lot cheaper.)
Super condition too, obviously been loved.

Sounds and looks like a perfect little ship for Nick!!!!!
Just the one small snag... 😄
I really like that, my type of boat. The clutter in every drawer, cupboard, space and otherwise was sending my OCD into orbit. Only thing I would change if it was mine would be all the seating in the boat, it all looked so formal and uncomfortable….. oh…and oil the teak

Maybe one day you'll do a video of it, if you already havnt. It's just such a feature of that particular part of the world.
That is just a really beautiful boat.
No idea why but I really like this.
That is a proper little ship, love it!
Now, this is a little ship i could see you on, Nick. Update little things every year, enjoying the craftmanship.
Those leather seats look like they are new.
I wouldn't mind it!
Very polyvalent for a Class A boat!
And nice watch btw, I love these analog+digital quartz watches!
It's a Casio re-issue of an Eighties model I had as a kid!
That boat has been loved it's mint.
Lovely little ship and good video nick 🚤🛥⛵️👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Many thanks!
Well done Nick, a near perfect little ship, great review.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😃
Very nice indeed. Excellent informative video as usual Nick. Thank you very much.
My pleasure!
Gorgeous little ship. She must have had a refit at some point in her 15 years because she looks so unused. The only thing giving away her age are the curves for the sake of curves and the blue leather upholstery. Thanks for the tour!
Thanks for the watching of it! 😃
very nice. the wood work is really nice.
Those marina shots remind me of the west country calanders mum n dad used to get sent to here in NZ from relatives there . .
Id buy that boat in a heart beat . . . Couple of things id change but great boat oops sorry . . Little ship lol
Nice walk through Nick . . Also nice to see Jack enjoying himself . .
Till next time take care .
Bye from NZ👋🇳🇿🍻
Confound you Nick I live near the Peak Railway. So watching this, the whistle went off. I thought, gee, They're loud today. Fooled good and proper.
😄
Now thats a proper boat! Guernsey built I believe.
A beautiful practical boat and a great tour. 😊. Thank you Steve 😊.
You are very welcome 🙂
It's been a while since we saw Jacque the Sack! Welcome back!
Can you imagine what a superb Sea Tag refit could do to this little beauty? I wish I had the money in the bank. Yet another brilliant tour, Nick. 👍
Many thanks!
Beautiful boat. Perfect cruiser
