    I got an email notification saying that the 250c batteries I ordered have shipped. Can’t wait to see you run your BJ42 when your batteries arrive. 90+ let’s go!!!!

    Regarding the rear ski test - you gotta love it when a mod works even better than expected!

    Fascinating. Wayne is going to give me one of those kits today, I'll have to keep the ski idea in the back of my mind. I'm not entirely certain what the build philosophy will be; light weight or heavy-hitter. The Europeans race Mini-Hydro (495mm) with 60-Gram motors (kinda small) and REALLY light hulls,

    The shrimp rigger goes well👍I built a Predator rigger,very similar to this shrimp, same size as well, but with 2 rear pontoons instead of a ski.
    Maybe you could improve the performance even more by replacing the rudder blade with a thin knife type blade and use a spray pickup above the prop 👍

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All great minds think alike, yes sir I agree a knife blade style rudder should reduce drag Significantly.
      I may file down the thickness of the current rudder blade, untill I find a suitable knife blade rudder

    Thanks for that. I'll have a look. I just got an outrigger kit like your super clad. I've got it as a gift for my father and was also wondering about the motor as my local rc shop has the 2968 5300kv in stock. Would this be a bad choice? Thanks again love your vids

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2968 is a great motor for the boat you'll have to make a custom hatch to fit that motor. As foe kv I'd go with 3400kv highest 4000kv so u can run a decent sized prop.
      5300kv would be good for 2s with a larger prop or 3s smaller prop. Amp draw would be the biggest problem with a high kv motor

    Im building one now, surprised it doesnt include a turnfin from factory ! I have a CF bracket on the OSE turn fin now. What size brass tubing is on booms ??

    Hey man, loved this video. Have just bought one of these riggers second hand with an outboard on back. Going to refit it out with a normal inboard set up. You commented a 3650 with a 90 fly colour for a 26” version. What are you running in yours again??

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My shrimp outrigger has a 90a flycolor with a 2968 4000kv motor, I had to build a custom hatch to accommodate the larger motor, and run the water cooling tube opposed to a traditional water jacket.
      It actually works out great Temps are cool and weight distribution seems to be perfect

      @@IRONCLADRC thanks heaps for that. I actually went back to the maiden video and you explained all the run gear in that. Another project in the pipe works to do now!!!

    Do it to it want to see what it does to the boat in overall performance does it matter or not

  • @bensprink9943

    interesting that the ski stopped the bounce. I used bondo to make the stuffing tube flush and it had the same effect.

    Love these Riggers. Does zip kits make good rigger kits? want to build one. not sure if its a good boat for first build

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 26 FE from zipzits would be the BEST first rigger to build. 26" LONG 4S perfect 4s rigger with a 3656 & 90a flycolor. The sell a basic hardware kit & complete hardware & electronics I've been looking into the 26FE here lately that's how I know so much about it 😆

    • @georgegonzalez9281
      @georgegonzalez9281 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IRONCLADRC The 26 FE is the bomb - perfect size for your park pond. It's actually designed to race in a 3S class with speeds approaching 50 mph, but you can shoehorn a 2200 to 3600 4S Li-Po and get it past 60 even with so-so batteries. It's actually designed for a 29mm motor - a 36mm is too big. I love mine and run it every time I go to the lake. Super easy and fun build too.

    the ski looks like it might be acting like a keel. i would like to see it with no turn fin , just the ski.

    I had to find me a new pond to play on back home. The one out in town people got mad because the geese and the ducks was on it said that I was bothering the habitat. So I had to become a member of the country club just to run the boats on the water at the golf course now but it’s a lot more quiet and a little bit bigger pond so that’s always a plus

    • @robbomber984
      @robbomber984 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can get paid around here to agitate the geese up here in michigan at local ponds because they try and nest and then want to defend their nest.
