      Disagree. After seeing a few dozen pics of the new one, the frame around the previous radiator looks way out of place. But I do like the old cylinder heads better. On balance, I like the looks of the new one much better.

      @@KenOtwellit’s a mixed bag. The radiator looks like a tombstone on the old one. But the cylinder heads are more striking. At least from pictures, the rocker covers look plastic on the new generation. I’d give the edge to the older Scout and Scout bobber, especially when you factor in price. The new Scout 101 looks great though as does the Sport Scout.

    I rode a 2025 last weekend.
    Wow. Power is surprising. The 60 lineup should get some changes down the line.
    I agree if you’re happy with what you have keep it always. For the new ones to the scout market. The new one is a beast. It doesn’t sound like a lot but the feel is crazy different in the midrange and low end. With more carry at the top.
    I would say go ride one when you get the chance.

      I have been looking into getting a Scout Bobber as my first motorcycle, but with these new releases I’m wondering if they would still be suitable for beginner riders.
      I’ve heard the previous Scouts have less power in the lower rpm range, which would make it somewhat manageable for a beginner. I’m curious to know if you think that’s still the case in your own opinion.
      For what it’s worth, I’m fully planning on taking it easy on my first bike until I gain more experience and confidence, but I also want a bike that I can grow into and keep around instead of getting tired of it within a few months and having to upgrade to something bigger.

    • @IronBornRider
      @IronBornRider  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@2ES5 if you get one with ride modes as an option that could help. In rain mode it could help with throttle control and power management until you feel comfortable enough. The previous gen had a very friendly throttle response for beginners and the power band didn’t really kick in until higher in the rpm range. I’m not sure how the new scouts are set up

    @IronBornRider ... I agree with most of your comments - especially the the deleting of chrome engine highlights is a backward step - too dowdy! ... I also think the new colour schemes are a real backward step and a restriction of choice - Especially the dropping of the Icon colourways with the Indian Head logo - It made the Scout more special - Now it looks more Harley like...

    I 100% think the new scout looks just as good as the old one. If not a little better. But I think if it's a flop or not will come down to when people get them on a dyno and crack into the computer. Who knows with that high compression 1250 it could make 120 pretty easy. We know the current scout make about 10-20hp with a tune and or bolt ons.
    I've heard that the extra 5hp in the 101 is just a tune difference. From Indian nothing internal that's different. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if a the new scout hits 110-120 wheel with a tune and or bolt ons. Hey maybe even more than that. But I think realistically. 125 wheel is probably where it will land with intake exhaust and tune. And good fuel.
    I definitely Wana ditch my 2017 scout classic for a scout 101 but its far to expensive I may try and get a basic bobber and toss stuff in here and there. There are a couple of things I really like obviously the fuel gauge. But not as much as better highway bars the current scout is garbage in that front the higher redline stock (it's 9k now Instead of 8300) . There are things I really want to add to my 2017 but why would I spend tons of money on a bike that's older and slower. The Cruze control keyless ignition and fuel gauge are enough to sell me. (Yes you can get two of the three in the old scout but at $500 for keyless and Cruzer control it's not worth it to me)
    The scout 101 with the scout classic fenders would be the perfect bike for me. Especially in matt white

    I have a '23 Bobber 20 and I agree with everything you said, especially your comments on the engine design. They turned the entire engine compartment into a black hole of nothingness. The base model is a Bobber that's $15.6k for the Limited + tech model. Including upgrades to make it more like the Bobber 20 with the laced wheels and mini-apes would push the cost up into the Chief range. If I do upgrade someday, it will be to the Chief Bobber Darkhorse. It would make more sense financially.

    I disagree that the Scout is an "entry level" bike. Not everyone wants an 800 lb cruiser, some are very happy with a very powerful, 550 lb "naked cruiser" that handles really well on the both twisties and the freeway. The Scout, especially the 101, is an aspirational bike, not a stepping stone.

    • @IronBornRider
      @IronBornRider  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a little bit of both. The scout 60 is entry level for a lot of people and it’s the least expensive bike that Indian sells. Many people start on a scout and decide to move up to bigger bikes. But yes you are right, not everyone wants a 700-800lb bike.
