@mitsuninja no, they did that cuz they would have to change too much stuff. Not even single character (besides those from MK2) had sprites for hands rip or sliced in half fatalities. It's the same reason why there's no stage fatality on Pit II here.
@Angrymonkey2489 if you disable it, "Press Start to Kontinue" screen when you lose in 1P mode (or one players loses in 2P mode) disappears, basically it spares you few seconds
