Glitch is great it has a lot of effort put into it sometimes But smg4 feels like it's struggling because of some heavy criticism and glaring flaws that no one listens to, Often calling it as hate It has its issues But I'm still watching it

Proud it grew, but i liked having videos that made me die laughing, especially with how unhinged it used to be. Now obviously it has to play it safe so really i think for me its just my sense of humor is that of the older smg4 Profuct of its time
Glitch is finally being seen, attracting the attention of not just well-known creators, such as all the listed indie developers, but also theorists such as Film Theory. Hell, even a reference was made to Murder Drones in a film, as a one-liner, in the TMNT: MM film. I embrace this new surge of indie animation with open arms.
Around a year ago, the crew of Lackadaisy did an interview with Jelloapocalypse, creator of Epithet Erased (which DaftPina has made a video on the production of, go check it out), and the thing that has really sat with me was where he talked about his pipe dream to one day host a service for all indie animators, one big union where everyone can share their work and give advice and resources to help the indie animation community thrive. Watching Glitch’s announcement video for the stream, as well as this video, is a very exciting experience, seeing that that animator collective is already being formed. As an aspiring animator, it makes me really hopeful for the future.
The way SMG4 has evolved over the years is so inspiring to me. It’s so cool that Glitch Productions is helping to get indie animation creators acknowledged more!
I felt like meta runner's ending left many unanswered questions like "how did Tari end up in a physical body?" Or "why after everything, meta runner arms weren't banned?" And "if Tari (and lucks) said that Tari needs To sacrifice herself to bring lucinia back, why did the MD-5 still try to protect her and keep her alive?"
That last one is them trying to find another way to save their friend. The first one just seems to be that she’s a heavily advanced version of what Theo is. And since the main source of the evil was defeated, and Luxcorp is down the drain. Meta runner arms will fall out of fashion eventually.
I just feel that even though they have big ambitions, they still have a Long way to go. There's also the fact that if Sheridan brought her to life to begin with, why would he want to kill her. I just generally think Meta runner was a bit rushed during it's end to bring another show to life. And some lines were a bit generic like Lamar commenting on masa being an edgelord. For me, masa was never an edgelord and him caring for his friends was extremely obvious.
@@shacharlem4424 He was building Tari as a meta runner ai, but it went wrong and she absorbed a decent bit of Lucinia’s brain functions. But I do agree that it seemed a bit rushed.
I think they were going to explain it in the animation but it was too horrifying for TH-cam (she's definitely a Frankenstein's monster) so they started a comic series that will *eventually* answer all questions

I consider myself being part of the SMG4/GLITCH community because Murder Drones gives me brainstorming ideas of what I can bring to them and I'm really helping them out in the animation industry.

SMG4 and Glitch were the main inspirations for why I have decided to become an indie animator to begin with! Seeing how they have progressed to now is mind-boggling and they continue to grow and I'm really happy for their current success!
ive followed SMG4 since january 2017 (the waluigi song) technically 2015 with an edited video of smg4's FNAF 2 video. and even if some years i just forget and do other things, i can always count that if i boot up a lerdwichagul production, i am going to laugh my ass off to the point i genuenly cant watch these videos on public or i look like a madman having to pause the video to catch my breath and slamming the closest desk-looking thing all because i saw luigi getting smashed by a chair and a pop up appeared that said "you can no longer play as luigi". i remember back when meta runner S1 was coming out that every thursday after school when i got on the bus the new episode would air and i would watch it during the trip and then again once i got home, and then over and over because i was just so in love with their work.
Probably one of the smartest things the Hobo Bros did because they already had a dedicated audience and then utilized it to give their animations more attention and then they started to realize that other people would want to do the same thing and coming from that same place, they gives them an opportunity to tell their stories with COMPLETE CREATIVE FREEDOM as said by Liam Vickers himself.
I grew up watching SMG4, seeing them improve so much and create something so great both with that and with Glitch productions really makes me appreciate them more, especially since they're the reason I started drawing in the first place. SMG4 will always have a place in my heart as how I started and grew as an artist and how I met so many great people in my life, and Glitch Productions truly means a lot to me as well, Meta Runner is genuinely so great and beautiful, I wish it had more appreciation. Thanks for making a video about Glitch and all they're doing for Indie Animation.
Yeah. People complain about the modern smg4 but if you look at TH-cam's crappy system, you can tell that they have limited freedom on the jokes the old videos used to have.
I don't think glitch is just the only one who saved indie animation there are many others with the same talent as her like vivziepop Jaiden animations and many others who work so hard to create animation that's better then main stream animation
But GLITCH is also giving both smaller and larger creators a platform to showcase thier work, which is a big deal. They are essentially uniting the community.
Eell, they have talent, but they are just one group focusing on one kind of animations. With glitch though, they're amplifying voices and talented people in the industry.
I have too much merch of them... A bootleg V plushie, An N plushie, An Uzi plushie, An SMG3 plushie, an Uzi shirt, a replica of Tari's hoodie and a Tari pin. They were all worth it. :)
I genuinely believe that Glitch will be in the history books of animation in the future. They are THE thing for indie animation, and indie animation might be getting bigger
I LOVE the fact that through the use of SMG4 and Glitch in tandem, they can appeal to a range of ages and styles of content at the same time. I grew up on the memes and jokes of the OG SMG4 channel, and that brought me to where I am now, but now that I'm older, I realize that kind of content is now not for everyone. It's the same with Spongebob and Squidward, when you're younger, you resonate with Spongebob, and when older, with Squidward, in tandem, when young, it's SMG4 and their humorous animations, and when older, with Glitch and their plots and animated shows. I love this community and all of the work that they've done to keep these two powerhouses of the animation industry alive. I hope that they can continue to fuel the fires of the Indie scene's engines and put out amazing content.
@DaftPina. I think it's absolutely incredible. The animation is so incredible, the voice actors are INCREDIBLEY talented and the merchandise is incredible too!! I can't wait to see the future of the youtubers and seeing them becoming incredible show runners.
GLITCH serves as a testament to how amazing things can come from such humble and goofy beginnings. Meta Runner and Murder Drones are masterpieces and Kevin and Luke's work are such inspirations for many of us.
I absolutely loved SMG4 growing up. I’m glad though that they’ve evolved into Glitch now, I’ve seen channels like SMG4 rise and fall and usually they die off because they never change. While I do miss the old humor of SMG4, it could never last, and to be honest that sort of Machinema humor has run its course. I’m glad to see Kevin and Luke are still in the creative world making new things.
I know I’m late, but thanks for making this. I love knowing the behind the scenes process and breakdown from the POV of another person/enjoyer rather than another critic.
my friend recently showed me SMG4 and I would have never guessed that they would be the same creators as the ones who make Murder Drones- Thank you for telling me this
It's inspiring to see something SMG4 became this big. It gave me inspiration to write my own story. Thank you to this tribute. And thank you for making this more well known.
Glitch helped me get through hard times in my life… every time I’m down and sad… I usually watch Smg4 videos and Murder drones… they help me cope through my hard times.
As much as I've grown to dislike the current state of the SMG4 animations, I can't help but I highly respect how exactly they're going about this business. I will say that Glitch productions is honestly a really promising studio and I do wish the best for those two.
Glitch is a pretty big inspiration for me. I’m terrible at drawing, it’s not fun to practice because the outcome is never good. But Glitch Productions has given me the motivation to continue drawing, and learn step by step how to animate. I can’t see myself making anything nearly as good as Murder Drones for another decade, but I can do a few animations in traditional style in about 2 or more years.
Indie shows are amazing. Every show I’ve seen from an indie show like glitch is amazing, despite the technical difficulties that come with creating something like this. I think mainstream media should take some notes from these types of studios. :D
They’re saving indie animation and animation in general by teaming up with people to make new shows that could benefit them and the creators. They know that businessmen are canceling shows for no reason.
Glitch has put out amazing shows, with MD being their first step into this extremely well made content. MD has been awesome so far and The Amazing Digital Circus is sizing up to be just as amazing as the name implies. Im really excited to see whats to come.
SMG4 is one of my favorite Mario based Web series, other ones I enjoy are Super Mario Bros Z and Nintendo High. Each of these has a unique idea based on Mario. I love Glitch Productions and their outlook on Web Shows, Meta Runner and Murder Drones quickly became some of my favorite web shows, I now await eagerly for Episode 7 of MD. I even began seeing other series like Hazbin and Helluva and now Lackadaisy. Web series are incredible.
Luke and Kevin have come a long way. So glad I found their channel in the early years. They are making better shows than that one company with the mouse mascot.
im not really a fan of the smg4 series anymore but i absolutely love how they are able to make gems like Murder drones, meta runners and now the amazing digital circus
Murder drones was a banger and I can't wait for digital circus, I was watching there content 2yrs before meta runner and loved there content. Btw it looks like they're trying to release multiple series at a time l, because it doesn't look like murder drones will end on the next episode so maybe 2 episodes left.
8:20 I think the one off were animation tests for Sunset Paradise. If you look at how they are animated its very similar to Sunset Paradise. The faces are Textures that swap to emote, the design of the character is closer to Sunset paradise than Meta runner, and in general it gives off a "Animator was fooling around to learn a new style" vibe.
I love SMG4 and Glitch I haven't watched Glitch though, i've been watching SMG4 since 2017 and I just love the shit post humor SMG4 has and I always will. SMG4 and Glitch have evolved so much and i'm glad Kevin and Luke get to live their dream.
I'm actually a very longtime SMG4 fan, starting to watch the show around 2013 when I was super into everything Nintendo. I actually feel that SMG4's newer content (specifically *on* the SMG4 channel itself) is becoming more and soulless, and it nearly feels like it's becoming a kids' show, as if it's really only being done for the money. The jokes are also not hitting as hard as they used to, and the animation, while technically better, kind of forced out the charm of having Luke himself just throwing round GMod ragdolls and using greenscreen'd SM64. In the most recent videos, you see very little to almost no SM64 greenscreen at all, either being replaced with GMod animation, or higher quality stuff done in SFM with hours upon hours of time poured into it. All in all, SMG4, while he co-founded probably my favourite company of all time, seriously needs to reconsider what makes SMG4, SMG4, and at least in my opinion, seriously needs to do at least one or two videos a year that are entirely produced by himself alone. That alone would bring me back to the series at large. Sure, the arcs are always fun / depressing, but to me personally, SMG4 has lost its charm. But hey, I'm just one person out of an audience of tens of millions.
This may sound cringe, But SMG4 got me through some REALLY tough times in my life. Back when I was in middle school, I was bullied near-relentlessly. I only had one friend, by the name of Isaiah, & he got me into SMG4. We would talk about all the dumb adventures Mario & the gang would get into, & often times theorize what would happen next! For the longest time, the weekly instalment was the only thing I had to look forward to in the week. I'm not gonna lie, Without SMG4, I might have killed myself. I got disinterested in the channel after they gave Meggy a real voice, But I still go back there every so often, just to see how the boys are doing. Not to mention, I still watch Glitch Productions, & I'm looking forward for more Amazing Digital Circus. Luke, Kevin, Thank you, For everything.
No, it was Shroomy I think. Unless you count Meggy but considering she was a Splatoon inkling that's more up for debate. Same with the Mario recolor characters, or Chris and Swagmaster and stuff. But if you don't count characters like those that are still derivative in some way of another source, then the first was Shroomy.
This is so amazing! I'm so happy Glitch is saving indie animation, they show how loyal they are and their shows while flawed have amazing story, character and animation!
Glitch is reestablishing the dream for indie artists. It's this passion for art and storytelling that pave a path to freedom of creation, and that? It gives me hope in a future where I, and many others, can pursue art.
19:02 I respect their dedication to merch, this was something that Roosterteeth lost a long time ago when selling mostly ship merch and creativity (they selling scene cuts shirts with no original designs 😠)
the thing with smg4 is that the channel's fans are absolutely revolting, crying over missing the old SMG4 when the channel stopped the shitposting and focused more on lore based series which the fans complain because their brains arent used to following lore and seeing their favourite channel showing growth rather than just randomness = funny
@haidermalik3946 yah cuz not everything will be funny meme haha, there will be change no matter what and it’s the main interests of smg4 of what genre he’ll be doing, ppl say his serious episodes are dogshit but they gain more views from new watchers
I wish Glitch Productions and Blumhouse Productions will make a murder drones movie (only on theaters) featuring Netflix and Sony Pictures. It will be a good idea
I remember watching smg4 back from 2014-2017 mostly. Some of those older videos hit different. Me and a friend kept up with every upload during that time. I found him at 200k subs, and really liked the fast paced comedy and project64 greenscreen. Personally though, i started to fall off when the story arcs started to really grow. The last time i really watched an smg4 video as it was new was during the waluigi thing leading up to one of the wotfis. I mostly fell off due to not liking the half animated gmod stuff or more voiced clips. I do still reference and quote some of the older videos though. Bowser and mario cooking 2 in particular is possibly my favourite. Still goes hard today, even into adulthood
I would like to point out that Murder Drones up to this point has been made on a budget of $300,000. That's a fraction of most budgets for the main studios and yet it has more care, more attention to detail and more polish than the majority of what those big studios make now. I'd rather have a studio take its time and make sure the product is good rather than churn it out with no polish or attention to detail. A delayed show much like videos games are just that. A delayed show. Whereas a bad show is forever a bad show. Quality over quantity wins every time.
So far the only thing I've ever heard about Glitch is everyone unanimously praising the studio's output. And now with the pilot of The Amazing Digital Circus, they've solidified their status as an indie animation giant
Hmm, seeing as how GLITCH technically isnt indie (they're an actual company, not just a team of 1-2 people working on a project) I can really see them evolving into something large enough to pump out projects at the same speed that the animation goliaths do today
It's weird to think that Nintendo is aware of SMG4 and their attitude seems to be "Man, I wish we could do that!" I would not be suprised if Nintendo recommended reaching out to Glitch and used Ubisoft as a legal shield for that Rabbids promo. In fact I do wonder if the Rabbid versions of the Mario characters was a nod to how they see the SMG4 parodies of their characters.
What do YOU think of SMG4 and Glitch's cartoons? 🤔

It's good seeing more channels talk about this. Loved SMG4 and i still watch his videos cause they have become better in my opinion
SMG4 is always something I can rely on to have fun, by simply watching a new or old video, and it's like that from years now, and it's awesome
The fact that they branched out into a full production company while continuing with their original work is especially impressive
I’m watching this after seeing The Amazing Digital Circus! I’m so proud of Glitch because I used to watch SMG4 so much with my little brothers
I know I’m late, but thanks for making this. I love knowing the behind the scenes process and breakdown from the POV of another person/enjoyer rather than another critic.
my friend recently showed me SMG4 and I would have never guessed that they would be the same creators as the ones who make Murder Drones-
Thank you for telling me this
It's inspiring to see something SMG4 became this big. It gave me inspiration to write my own story. Thank you to this tribute. And thank you for making this more well known.
my god, I just had a revelation. Tari's name came from the game console Atari.
😱😱😱😱
I'M FUCKING- AAAAAAAGH
Glitch productions is the most underrated channel ever
Glitch helped me get through hard times in my life… every time I’m down and sad… I usually watch Smg4 videos and Murder drones… they help me cope through my hard times.
I find it interesting how SMG4 show itself got downgraded majorly but the rest of their projects flourished
As much as I've grown to dislike the current state of the SMG4 animations, I can't help but I highly respect how exactly they're going about this business.
I will say that Glitch productions is honestly a really promising studio and I do wish the best for those two.
They are massive source of inspiration, I love their stuff so much!
it's still a bit of a mindfuck that SMG4 went from shirtless mario snorting Fentanyl and TH-cam HQ to masterpiece in Indy Animation.
Glitch is such a good Studio I love their shows/movies/music/videos/documentaries/merch they def deserve more
They’re saving indie animation and animation in general by teaming up with people to make new shows that could benefit them and the creators. They know that businessmen are canceling shows for no reason.
Glitch has put out amazing shows, with MD being their first step into this extremely well made content. MD has been awesome so far and The Amazing Digital Circus is sizing up to be just as amazing as the name implies. Im really excited to see whats to come.
There very luckily that the Nintendo ninjas didn’t come knocking on there doorstep.😺
I loved seeing them evolve to where they are today.
I used to watch their smg4 episodes before when I was younger, I'm so proud of them to be able to get this big.
all started with meta runner
I’m glad to hear that Glitch and SMG4 are saving indie animation, i’ve been watching their videos for a very long time.
All this because peach doesnt knoe how to make a single cake right
This may sound cringe, But SMG4 got me through some REALLY tough times in my life.
Nostalgia: As soon I encounter this, my run would be devastating
Yes, please do other videos related to SMG4 and glitch productions
5:12 actually, saiko was the first original character introduced.
Oh yeah shroomy... I kinda forgot about him since he started to appear less and less @@legoboy7107.
Murder drones is one of the best series on TH-cam up there with helluva boss and bfdi
I would watch that
I remember watching smg4 back from 2014-2017 mostly.
I love how he searches “animation” and noodle’s whole interpolation rant sticks out like a sore thump…
So far the only thing I've ever heard about Glitch is everyone unanimously praising the studio's output. And now with the pilot of The Amazing Digital Circus, they've solidified their status as an indie animation giant
Seeing what glitched productions has done with indie animation brings me hope for my own project getting somewhere
hope that glitch inspires more people
11:51 the fact that he mentioned that is crazy
Miyamoto is an SMG$ fan is my new favorite head canon
0:18 hide the 8 year olds are coming..
SMG4 and GLITCH are the brilliant!
Hmm, seeing as how GLITCH technically isnt indie (they're an actual company, not just a team of 1-2 people working on a project) I can really see them evolving into something large enough to pump out projects at the same speed that the animation goliaths do today
Glitch and all the other Indi creators that I've seen pop up in the last couple of years are really inspiring, I'd love to do my own project some day
It's weird to think that Nintendo is aware of SMG4 and their attitude seems to be "Man, I wish we could do that!"
I would not be suprised if Nintendo recommended reaching out to Glitch and used Ubisoft as a legal shield for that Rabbids promo. In fact I do wonder if the Rabbid versions of the Mario characters was a nod to how they see the SMG4 parodies of their characters.
When i first stumbled upon the Glitch Channel i was like "Yes" and was very intrigued by the animations, Epic indeed
Im sure part of it is just for the cameras, but the people behind Glitch seem like genuinely good people who want Indie animation to succeed
now we just need a murder drones for indie everything else (indie horror)
Would say Gwain saga but realized 90% of the video game like references would need to be taken out
a video singing the gospel of meta runner would be sick
