The older bottle probably has oakmoss in it, and the later one likely replaced the oakmoss with a couple other notes (due to recent oakmoss restrictions). I have the new one, and I'm glad there's a smoothness to the blend, because it needs that to balance it out. When I use extra sprays, it's strong enough. I'm fine with using extra sprays when the scent is nice but inexpensive. I don't appreciate when fragrances fade away too quickly from skin (in which case I have to spray them on clothing), but for me, this one does stick around, so I'm pleased with it.
This is the only fragrance in the world that repulsed me. It smells like jaguar urine. I was mad at the Jaguar company that I smelled it, let allone bought it blindly. I can see somebody in the street or in a shopping mall getting punched in the face for wearing it, and overspraying this fragrance and going into the crown I would clasify as a terrorist attack.
@@eaudetreasure Yes. I have tried the Polo Green. The openning is superb and the middle and base notes a bit too spicy for my taste, but generally a great fragrance.
My jaguar vintage has a gold band arond the base of the cap and the gold jaguar logo on the top of the cap, made in Germany
Thanks for sharing.
@@eaudetreasure I wasnt aware the wooden caps differ....like I say my wooden cap has the logo and gold band. Does yours have the logo on top in gold ?
@Steve_D1974 Mine doesn't have any markings, just plain wood. Curious to know what years were like that.

I think Jaguar did a good job with the modern version, as well.
This was really helpful. Good info about the wooden cap ✌🏻
Thanks! Glad to help.
I've only got the recent one (with the silver plastic cap) & it packs a hefty *PUNCH!* without a doubt.
I agree...it's not soft at all. Good bang for your buck.

I have the newer one it smells like BRUT (THAT DNA) never smell the vintage...
@javy-81 Really? I find them very different. The Jaguar smells green and rugged, the Brut smells more soapy and soft.
Of course they're going to be different, it's been macerating for 35 years 🤣🤣
But HOW they are different, that's the point.

Have you tried Polo Cologne?
@@eaudetreasure Yes. I have tried the Polo Green. The openning is superb and the middle and base notes a bit too spicy for my taste, but generally a great fragrance.
@@LazarIvanda That's one, along with Jaguar, that people give me dirty looks if I dare wear it in public.
@@eaudetreasure 😂 Polo Cologne is a good fragrance, but I can understand why some people dislike it. I would ware Green Polo 🙂
