The law should change for those who causes death by speeding. The law has been too kind to speedsters for a long time.

Something needs to be done. Driving culture in Singapore is very gung ho and reckless. People are impatient, people are always cutting each other off, no signaling, speeding.

That’s why COE is one of many options to control car population. Laws have been amended to discourage potential offenders. It is left to the mindset of individual road users to share the roads.

This person said he sped up to make the Saab (Black Car) slow down. He lied. He sped up to trap him behind another motorist. He simply cannot tolerate anyone speeding pass him and owning a AmG 43, he wanted to unleash the horsepower and fxxxk the black car over. The Saab avoided the front motorist and sideswiped the Merc. This person is also another to be prosecuted severely; not withstanding the fact, that when the Saab hit him, the driver looked at the rear view mirror and wondered what did he hit. By the time he looked straight again, it was too late. This Merc is guilty. If you looked at the video carefully, when the merc power up to force the Saab (black car) , this Saab driver noticed a motorist in front and he did swerved to avoid hitting this front motorist; despite driving at fast speed. The actual cause of the people’s death is this merc driver. It is common sense, to look in the mirror what did you hit. It is this distraction that took the Saab’s driver eyes off the road. Thus, this Merc driver attributed to this terrible accident. He deregistered his vehicle immediately the following day and other netizens have surfaced his other intimidating and arrogant road behaviors. If he had allowed the black Saab to overtake, he may have kept his eyes on the road and thus, this disaster may not incur the loss of lives. He lied without conscience and does not repent. Yet, he is trying to lie his way out when other moans for their family member’s death. Netizens should disclose who he is. Everything is under wrapped for the moment from the authorities pending investigation. I feel very sorry for the lost ones and their family and yet I am angry to see this Merc driver trying to get away and not be implicated for his vicious action. People died. How are their families going to live through this sudden loss. Yet, we have a liar who doesn’t own up for his actions and defending his innocent stance.

The accused will be charged under "Dangerous driving causing death". The penalty is only a few years jail, + fine and banned driving for few years. You all dont believe? Wait and see. Unless the vicitm is minister's son or daughter, if not, the TP rule will still be the same.

If the accused engage an outstanding defence lawyer, he might not even need to go to jail, just need to twist and turn, use mental state, eat medicine the previous night and drowsy driving, etc...

We live in a world where the rights of criminals are given more respect than the privacy of their victims.
We know more about the victims than the perpetrators.
I understand the news outlet not wanting to speculate the identity of the murderer, but its simple maths. You take away the names of the victims and what's left should be the name of the murderer, sorry i meant perpetrator.

It has become the talk of the town.
Many people feel sad and shock over this fatal accident which took two lives and causing injuries to six people.
I could understand how the parents feel for the sudden and forever lost of their beloved teenage daughter. As the days goes by grief increases.
Such incident can be totally avoided if drivers play their part to value others lives and safety as their own.
I don't know what is penalty for this offence.
However I think govt should look into matter seriously to introduce stiffer penalties to prevent such matter from happening.

The current Road Traffic Act seems pretty useless for cases that causes fatal accidents with a few victims. In other countries law like china, the accused will be charged under Murder. Only in here, still use the Road Traffic Act to charge Accused. What to do? Everything also wants number 1, but come to enforce the law, useless.

No point with these videos. With all the cameras around, there’s no camera to catch those who constantly try to beat the red light. This happens often everyday. Light already red and some idiots still try to run through fast. Same with right turning lane, even after red, people still turn right. Let’s see if traffic police will do anything. No. They won’t. Because the govt makes money from these accidents at the end of the day.
