- Death may be a taboo topic for many but for the people at Pengurusan Jenazah Sinaran Baharu, death is a part of their profession as they facilitate Islamic funerals every day.
When Haji Roslan and Intan first provided the service in 1997, they never imagined that one day, they too would perform the Jenazah for their mother, even showering her body as part of the final rites. The siblings realised the importance of providing a dignified funeral, a final act of love.

Hi Amir, it's ok if you change slowly, by improving the quality of your amal. InsyaAllah, I hope you will success in your life test. I would like to suggest you to put a target what you would like to achieve every day, every month, every year, etc. Also, try to find anyone that can guide u to the right path (someone who able to keep secret of your flaw, encourage you to do the good deeds and correct your wrong). As long as deep in your heart still have good intention to become a good Muslim, it is ok if you fail to achieve your targets and start them again because I am sure Allah will count and reward your effort. I am also glad to suggest you to watch you tube channel like Daud Kim & Muft Menk. Hope you can get positive vibes from them.

deathempire70 its actually pretty much the same as jewish funeral rites from cleaning the corpse, putting on white linen shrouds to departing prayers because we share almost the same traditions and customs..their deceased one will face Jerusalem and Ours facing Makkah..and definitely No cremation is ever allowed.

I am Muslim but converted. I knew of the washing and shroud, but had wanted to know about the prayers and service of grave. Thank you so much for this insight. We lost our Mosque in 2018 to Hurricane Michael. A lot of our community left so we only have a handful rebuilding it. Salaam Alaikum and may the love of Prophet Mohammad teachings to us remind us Allah is the one that takes care of us.

At 19, I already memorised almost all the procedures from my grandfathers, cousin and my own dad's funerals. Death really taught me many things and one thing for sure, we have to always be ready because death will come anytime and when the time comes, we can only leave it to Him. I am just 10 years old and my Father is 50+ years old and my Mother is 40+ Years old I have 3 brothers and I am always thinking of death no matter what, sometimes I always cry. Someone please pray that my family will live a long life I am a muslim I will do anything to see my family in Jannah.
that's the same for me.... im 11 and my dad is 51 and my mum is 39 or 40 I fee like they will die when I am still young. If they were to die I'd miss them so much and legit cry for the rest of my life but sign I just hope if they die they die peacefully Allah Akbar
do lots of sadaqah jariah!!!!, donate to mosque building &islamic dawah ceter, fulfill your zakat , do whtever means you can with your money for the sake of Allah dear, for this will benefit the soul in the grave and reward them with good news of jannah....Amin....take my advise very SERIOUSLY and dont neglect it!

its a very tough job. if you have the opportunity to go for the classes in english, do attend for experience. my trainer even showed us the pictures of babies that died from miscarriage that needed to be buried, man that was a heart breaker.

No talqeen in arabic means "Indoctrinate" and it does mean to learn the dead one what to answer the two angels.

It is both for the deceased as well for the living as for the deceased it hears but it cant reply you remember after the battle of Badar when the unbelievers we're buried in asingle pit the prophet spoke to the dead and a companion near remind the prophet but then prophet said the dead hears but then cant reply😛

It's such an interesting contrast of cultures in Singapore where the job of an undertaker in Chinese funerals is taboo while the Imam carrying out Islamic funeral rites is praised by his mother.
islam tells us that it’s Fardhu Kifayah, the community’s responsibility to have at least one person in the community who knows the death rites. we also learn the different events after death. so most muslims know a little about death, so i guess that makes muslims more open to talking about death
Death is viewed as an inevitability in Islamic philosophy. And those who carry out the duties of the funwral rites, funeral preparations, even the grave diggers are all viewed highly spiritually. Even cleaning up filth or discharge from a cadaver is seen as a good deed, because that's the reality sometimes.

Many years ago, Eunos and myself were on a wedding trip in KL. We walked under the hot sun. Tired and sweaty, we rested at a mosque. Eunos decided to bathe and asked the mosque keeper is there a bath-room. He shook his head and pointed to a long trough of water. Eunos asked me whether i am afraid to bathe in this water. Firmly shook my head i am not. Bodily cooled and blessed water for bathing the Muslim corpses for burial. This is once in my lifetime unforgettable experience. Salam!

Please make dua for me brothers and sisters. After my.husband told me last night that I should do istakhara for our marriage whether i should take divorce from him or live with him. Till now I had this little hope in my heart that one day my husband will also love me but after hearing this it broke me into pieces, I am totally shattered. So I thought that i should do istakhara and let the divorce take place if that's better for me and my daughter...and I should prepare for hereafter watch some funerals eye opening messages that we as a muslim should prepare for. And yeah that's it atleast if I can get to fix my prayer... maybe Allah can forgive me please make dua for me everyone.

Human Souls Journey After Death In Islam
Imagine yourself at the moment of your death. What thoughts cross your mind? Memories of family and friends? Panic? Regrets? Remembrance of Allah SWT (God)? What is death? What happens to us after we die? What is life in the Hereafter like, this new and strange world after death? Do we lose consciousness of this life? Where does our soul go? Do we feel and think the same?
The ineffable feeling of crossing the boundary between this world and the next cannot be described in words, nor imagined in the mind, but can be understood only through divine revealation and inspiration. Let us for the next few moments seek an understanding of this, death, the only certainty in life.
Sometimes we may not want to know about the processes that occur after we die because we are afraid or don’t want to think about it. However, this is not the attitude of a Muslim. We should be foremost in learning and understanding death, so we can live our lives accordingly. The prophet (saw) said, “Live in this world as though you are a stranger or a traveler (passing through it).” [Muslim] We are on a journey and should know about the whole journey’s itinerary, not just one part.
Death is inevitable. It is the one thing that we can be certain about in life. We are born to die. Every soul shall have a taste of death no matter who they are. This is confirmed for us many times in the Quran:
“Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense.” (Quran 3:185)
“Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good, by way of trial. To Us must you return.” (21:35)
“Every soul shall have a taste of death: In the end to Us shall you be brought back.” (29:57)
Death is not pure annihilation, but rather both the living and dead are aware, but there is a difference that can’t be compared. Death is merely movement from one world to another. It can be described as a journey through a wormhole to a separate dimension of existence.
We begin this journey in our mother’s wombs. 120 days after conception the soul is blown into the fetus. Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Mus’ud: “Allah’s Apostle, the true and truly inspired said, ‘(The matter of the Creation of) a human being is put together in the womb of the mother in forty days, and then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period, and then a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends an angel who is ordered to write four things. He is ordered to write down his (i.e. the new creature’s) deeds, his livelihood, his (date of) death, and whether he will be blessed or wretched (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into him’”[Bukhari]
We have no choice in who our parents are, our race, color or nationality. “He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases. There is no god but He, The Exalted in Might, The Wise.” (3:6) Allah knows all of this before our birth even, but we still continue our journey to fulfill our destiny.
The next part of our trip begins after we are born. This is the life of this world, in which we now reside and are familiar with. We may stay at this station for a few seconds or as long as 100 years or more. Here we grow up and acquire the means to happiness or misery. We are given the ability to make choices after the age of puberty and we will later be punished or rewarded based upon them. Allah gives each of us the natural Fitrah, knowledge of good and bad as well as right and wrong. The rest is up to us. As the Quran says, “By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it, and its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right - Truly he succeeds that purifies it, and he fails that corrupts it!” (91:7-10)
In this life, the soul and the body are together except during sleep when the soul may leave the body and come back in the morning or Allah may take the soul at that time. “It is Allah that takes the souls at death; and those that die not (He takes) during their sleep: those on whom He has passed the decree of death, He keeps back (from returning to life), but the rest He sends (to their bodies) for a term appointed. Verily in this are Signs for those who reflect.”(39:42)
It is indeed something to be pondered; that we die each night and Allah gives us another chance at life when we wake up the next day.
We also find continuous biological processes of life and death during this time. In every cell, organ or system of organs, life and death is occuring. There are several hundreds of thousands of enzymatic reactions that take place in the body every fraction of a second. Some of these biochemical reactions are used to synthesize living materials while others are either used to synthesize dead materials or to get rid of living materials.
“You (Allah) bring the Living outof the Dead, and You bring the Dead out of the Living” (3:27)
This part of our journey ends as our death begins.
No one knows where, how and when he or she will die.
“Verily, the knowledge of the hour is with Allah (alone). It is He who sends down rain, and He who knows what is in the wombs, nor does anyone know what it is that he will earn on the morrow. Nor does anyone know inwhat land he is to die. Verily, with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things.)” (31:34)
Nor does anyone have the right to take his or her own life. If they do they will automatically go to Hell. The One who gave life is the only one who has the right to take life.
When someone begins to die the Angel of Death or Izraeel comes to take the soul out of the body and puts it in a place called the Barzakh.
“Say: ‘The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls. Then shall you be brought back to your Lord.” (32:11)
“Wherever you are, Death will find you out, even if you are in towers built up strong and high! “(4:78)
For those who led a life of evil, the removal of the soul is tough and difficult. Sometimes, more than one angel has to work together to beat the face and back of the deceased. But for those who lived a good life, the soul yearns to meet its Lord and leaves the body with ease, like a drop of water pouring out. A light like the sun’s ray and a sweet fragrance come out to the soul. Then it ascends amid rows of angels, but those who are there cannot see or smell this. The deceased is questioned, punished, beaten, and wails, and cries out. All this happens while they lie dead and their family is around them, but they neither hear nor see it. The sleeper dreams and enjoys their dream or is tormented by it, while someone awake at their side is not able to perceive what is going on at all.
Allah has given inanimate objects awareness and perception by which they glorify their Lord. The stones fall down out of fear of Him. The mountains and trees prostrate. The pebbles, water and plants glorify Him. All this is going on but we are not aware of it. “There is nothing which does not glorify His praise but you do not understand their glorification.” (17:44)

I'm proud I'm Muslim
This is a very informative video. I truly appreciate what you’re doing to educate young and curious Muslims. However, may I correct the question that the two angels asks Muslims, which are who’s your lord, who’s your prophet, and what’s your religion? The other questions that are mentioned about Imam and brothers and sisters are not valid. Nonetheless, scholars have a very important role in Islam.
@@syids16 hi, from the hadith of abu dawood, 4753 and ahmad, 18063, the questions “who is your Lord”, “what is your religion”, “who is this man who was sent among you”, “what did you do”.
In Malaysia and Singapore, we are taught that we will be asked who is our imam, the answer is the Quran. Then we are asked who are your brothers and sisters, and the answer is the Muslimin and Muslimah. It may be an aspect of the Shafii Madhzab that we follow in southeast asia, this is what we believe the questions of the grave are besides the beginning who is your God and who is your prophet.

When we dead it like woke up from a dream we remember who our god what our purpose in the world at that time you will say to god please give back our life we want worships you and do good deeds and god will say it to late.
The graves, the process and when they use batik on the deceased is also the same way here in indonesia
because it is islam, the main islamic practices and process should be the same around the world. but for the batik part, it’s cultural i guess. and since singapore and indonesia are literally neighbours and our people share a long history together, we also tend to share some cultural practices.
@@andii256 yes, actually these people are malays, and malays are muslims which are present in both singapore and Indonesia.. the traditions and customs are the same because we are cognate people.. it is only the country has devided the malay people.. but before there was singapore, malaysia, indonesia, or brunei the Malays have been sailing back and forth to these islands

Just like to share with you all with my experience,l used to be be a cab driver and one day l have received a job to pick up a passenger from Yishun to the Muslim Cemetery through and back.honestly In my life I have never been to the Muslim cemetery before and when l pick up my passenger and I can only tell them l don’t know where’s the Muslim cemetery and I have to asked them to tell me how to get there, lucky the family help me to get there and asked me to wait for them until they have their prayers and send them back home. Honestly I felt very depressed after this job, coz the reason as singaporean l don’t even my Muslim neighbours and friends culture.

Ya, they will bury only the corpse, the keranda they will bring it back and wash it. The keranda is like simply to just cover the corpse and people easy to carry.

The comparison with christian grave ritual in movies is which it is done in rainy day while in muslim movies (common in malay movies) the grave ritual is done in bright sunny day.

In Muslim cemeteries, there are at least two types of graves :
Al-Shaqq : is to make a deep vertical hole in the ground.
Al-Lahed : is to make a deep vertical hole in the ground, then in the bottom make a side horizontal hole big enough to cover the whole body.
I remember when I close friend of mine died and I wasn't allowed to go inside the mosque and I stood outside the mosque for 2 days until I got permission from probation, I always stood by the rules if I did then you think I wouldn't for anything else? Yes, Women can attend the funeral although some said it's not really compulsary for women to do so. As well as attending with long sleeves, long skirt/pants, not revealing anything under your chin,, as well as a scaf to cover the head is to be followed but it's not adviced for women having their period to attend.

1 One of the many practices taught by Islam is that its followers should begin their activities in the name of God. This principle, if consciously and earnestly followed, will necessarily yield three beneficial results. First, one will be able to restrain oneself from many misdeed, since the habit of pronouncing the name of God is bound to make one wonder when about to commit some offence how such an act can be reconciled with the saying of God's holy name. Second, if a man pronounces the name of God before starting good and legitimate tasks, this act will ensue that both his starting point and his mental orientation are sound. Third - and this is the most important benefit - when a man begins something by pronouncing God's name, he will enjoy God's support and succour; God will bless his efforts and protect him from the machinations and temptation of Satan. For whenever man turns to God, God turns to him as well.
2. As we have already explained, the character of this surah is that of a prayer. The prayer begins with praise of the One to whom our prayer is addressed. This indicates that whenever one prays one ought to pray in a dignified manner. It does not become a cultivated person to blurt out his petition. Refinement demands that our requests should be preceded by a wholehearted acknowledgement of the unique position, infinite benevolence and unmatched excellence of the One to Whom we pray. Whenever we praise someone, we do so for two reasons. First, because excellence calls for praise, irrespective of whether that excellence has any direct relevance to us or not. Second, we praise one who, we consider to be our benefactor; when this is the case our praise arises from a deep feeling of gratitude. God is worthy of praise on both counts. It is incumbent on us to praise Him not only in recognition of His infinite excellence but also because of our feeling of gratitude to Him, arising from our awareness of the blessings He has lavished upon us. It is important to note that what is said here is not merely that praise be to God, but that all praise be to God alone. Whenever there is any beauty, any excellence, any perfection-in whatever thing or in whatever shape it may manifest itself- its ultimate source is none other than God Himself. No human beings, angels, Demigods, heavenly bodies-in short, no created beings-are possessed of an innate excellence; where excellence exists, it is a gift from God. Thus, if there is anyone at all whom we ought to adore and worship, to whom we ought to feel indebted and grateful, towards whom we should remain humble and obedient, it is the creator of excellence, rather than its possessor.
3. In Arabic the word Rabb has three meanings: (i) Lord and Master; (ii) Sustainer, Provider, Supporter, Nourisher and Guardian, and (iii) Sovereign, Ruler, He Who controls and directs. God is the Rabb of the universe in all three meanings of the term.
4. Whenever we are deeply impressed by the greatness of something we try to express our feelings by using superlatives. If the use of one superlative does not do full justice to our feelings, we tend to re-emphasize the extraordinary excellence of the object of our admiration by adding a second superlative of nearly equivalent meaning.* This would seem to explain the use of the word Rahim following Rahman. The form of the word Rahman connotes intensity. Yet God's mercy and beneficence towards His creatures is so great, so extensive and of such an infinite nature that no one word, however strong its connotation, can do it full justice. The epithet Rahim was therefore added to that of Rahman.
5. God will be the Lord of the Day when all generations of mankind gather together on order to render an account of their conduct, and when each person will be finally rewarded or punished for his deeds. The description of God as Lord of the Day of Judgement following the mention of his benevolence and compassion indicates that we ought to remember another aspect of God as well-namely, that He will judge us all, that He is so absolutely powerful, that on the Day of Judgement no one will have the power either to resist the enforcement of punishments that He decrees or to prevent anyone from receiving the rewards that He decides to confer. Hence, we ought not only to love Him for nourishing and sustaining us and for His compassion and mercy towards us, but should also hold Him in awe because of His justice, and should not forget that our ultimate happiness or misery rests completely with Him.
6. The term ibadah is used in three sense: (i) worship and adoration; (ii) obedience and submission; and (iii) service and subjection. In this particular context the term carries all these meanings simultaneously. In other words, we say to God that we worship and adore Him, that we are obedient to Him and follow His will, and also that we are His servants. Moreover man is so bound to none save God, that none but He, may be the subject of man's worship and total devotion, of man's unreserved obedience, of man's absolute subjection and servitude.
7. Not only do we worship God, but our relationship with Him is such that we turn to Him alone for help and succour. We know that He is the Lord of the whole universe and that He alone is the Master of all blessings and benefactions. Hence, in seeking the fulfilment of our needs we turn to Him alone. It is towards Him alone that we stretch forth our hands when we pray and supplicate. It is in Him that we repose our trust. It is therefore to Him alone that we address our request for true guidance.
8. We beseech God to guide us in all walks of life to a way which is absolutely true, which provides us with a properly-based outlook and sound principles of behaviour, a way which will prevent our succumbing to false doctrines and adopting unsound principles of conduct, a way that will lead us to our true salvation and happiness. This is man's prayer to God as he begins the study of the Qur'an. It is, in short, to illuminate the truth which he often tends to lose in a labyrinth of philosophical speculation; to enlighten him as to which of the numerous ethical doctrines ensures a sound course of conduct; to show which of the myriad ways and by-ways is the clear, straight, open road of sound belief and right behaviour.
9. This defines the 'straight way' which we ask God to open to us. It is the way which has always been followed by those who have enjoyed God's favours and blessings. This is the way which has been trodden from the beginning of time by all those individuals and communities that have unfailingly enjoyed God's favours and blessings.
10. This makes it clear that the recipients of God's favour are not those who appear, briefly, to enjoy worldly prosperity and success; all too often, these people are among those whom God has condemned because they have lost sight of the true path of salvation and happiness. This negative explanation makes it quite clear that in'am (favour) denotes all those real and abiding favours and blessings which one receives in reward for righteous conduct through God's approval and pleasure, rather than those apparent and fleeting favours which the Pharaohs, Nimrods and Korahs (Qaruns) used to receive in the past, and which are enjoyed even today by people notorious for oppression, evil and corruption.
