    He is precious. I saw him and interacted with him for about a week after he fledged. The last time I saw him, he was way up high in a tree. That was 10 days after he fledged. My husband saw him and his mom the other day. She was gliding in an open space from one tree to another. Ollie was behind her, and he said Ollie was flapping quite a bit more...not really gliding yet.

    Thank you, I'll never get to experience the baby owl like you did, but just seeing him snuggle with you was great! I adore owls, they are such a lovely creature to behold.

    I'm so jealous i want to pet one so bad. As long as it wont disturb their nature or wild life. They are such amazing creatures.

    • @WralthChardiceVideo
      @WralthChardiceVideo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unless you are raising one from birth its very unlikely that petting them will disturb their wildlife significantly, other than making them perhaps a bit less wary of humans.

    • @tttigggerrr1
      @tttigggerrr1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WralthChardiceVideo Correct! Why i would never want them as pets. Wildlife is wildlife, they are to be enjoyed to be watched in nature where they belong. And we need to show our love to hem by protecting their habitat.

    Best of both worlds. You get to bond with an owl but he's still flying free at your farm. Awesome!

    Thanks for posting the video. To see the baby acting so sweet and intimate with you shows the level of emotion these animals have. That interaction has to be priceless.

    That is so awesome ! Birds can be so loving and caring ... they are so smart. You are lucky ! I have a female Eclectus as a friend and pet, and she loves to snuggle and cuddle too ! I hope your friend comes back to visit you often ... ;))

    Beautiful video. Loved watching how the two of you bonded through touch and sound. Amazing how the owl trusted you and the two of you spent hours together. Hoping someday I get to the same!

    Ollie is cute and sweet as always in this video. Now that he's fledged and is flying around with his mother, does he still recognize you?
    He starts trying to nuzzle under your arm at 3:57 because baby birds like to snuggle under their mother's wing, and he thinks your arm is your wing!

    You should put up an "owl cam" when the parents are there so people can see them from egg to hatch to maturity. If you are into farming and/or animals, you may also want to post videos on that too.
    Thanks so much for sharing this video! ❤

    • @stylishranchgirl
      @stylishranchgirl  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't seen him except for a few weeks after he left the nest. They are territorial so the hen runs them out of her territory. Coyotes and fire ants have diminished their source of food. The hen comes back every year.

    A grown great horn’s set facial markings make it appear embarrassed by its earlier behaviour. So keep imagining what they look like okay now add a.3 quarter head spin. A caption or thought bubble would say, ... Not me I never ever cuddled with a person How dare you! I do not resemble that accusation. You have the wrong owl

      Sorry, hun. It wasn't possible to capture this interaction with anyone else present. This was taken before selfie sticks and $1,000 iphones. If there had been any kind of "cameraman", Ollie would have been bug eyed and snapping at them.

    You shouldn't be touching anything but his head. Touching the body and wings can greatly affect his ability to fly. You are actually harming him. Please stop. I'm sure it's hard, he's so beautiful. But put his welfare first.

    • @stylishranchgirl
      @stylishranchgirl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You won’t hurt a bird if you touch their wings gently. Or any other part of them. How do you think bird vets examine them?
