Great video, thanks. A relative new DIY person here - can I ask, did you have studding on the rigght hand side, and gap --> solid wall on left? So 2 different length screws? Also why did you only use 1 screw on the right bracket? CHeers
Thanks for watching I could only put one in as the pipe would have been in the way for the other screw. No didn't have stud work just a rubbish brick so put a longer screw in to get a better fixing.
@@primalrenovations7427 Ah, I see what you're saying. I've a similar job to do for a family member (So don't want to take it on unless I'm happy I won't screw it up.) The wall is a solid garage wall, I'm guessing dry-lined, and tiled. Looking at the protruding pipes, I can see some evidence of plaster around them, for some reason. So I guess I will need to put a rawlplug on long screws, and try and get to the brick wall, which I hate doing. Might have to politely refuse this one - we are currently on good terms 🙂
@concunningham9795 It's easier than it looks if you drill a slightly bigger hole through the tile like a 6/8mm then use the 5.5mm drill bit for the brick you can pass the red plug through the wall tiles into the brick and just use a screwdriver to tighten it up.
@@primalrenovations7427 Cheers for that - I'm looking at other things like CoreFix, and DuoPower - all new to me. The CoreFix seems to be quite proud of the Tile, so I think this might be an issue for the base of the mounting brackets that slip over the pipes. I'll hold fire until I'm up there next weekend - there's only a small part of the wall tiled for the shower. I might poke a few judicious holes in a different part of the wall and try to verify that it's D&D, and figure out how much of a void there is. If you ever find yourself in Ireland, I owe you a pint!
wow how tricky is that !!!! Well done! Esp getting the 150 centres bang on I have a stud wall with nothing to fix to behind Do you think smaller pipe holes would help the bar shower fixing?
A very good video some very nice tips thanks.

Well if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Yes smaller holes would help.
You could also put some wooden noggins in behind the plasterboard if you can.
thanks more vids please
😃
Well if there is something you would like to see just leave a comment and I'm sure I could do something 👍
shower tray installation would be great😊
I would have filled the holes where the tails poked through with CB1 as well as the smaller holes you’d filled in after the fittings.
👍🏻

Why don’t you put silicon around the mixer cover plates? Maybe it can also prevent water slipping behind the wall?
Yes you can do just looks bad I do put some inside them to to wall.
Top video Thanks

Thank you 😊
The tiler made them holes far too big for them pipes 🤦🏻
What size holes should they be for 15mm pipes?
@curiousjoe395 should really be about 20mm then fill the hole with silicone before fitting the shower.
@@primalrenovations7427 Thanks for getting back to me. What do you use for this cut on ceramic tiles please?
@curiousjoe395 you can buy tile hole saw bits from tile shops or @screwfix do some good ones.
What drill bits are you using, seems effortless
