Red Bull Dolomitenmann 2021 Paraglider Landings Dolomitenstadion Lienz

The Dolomitenmann is an extreme sports relay race taking place in the Lienz Dolomites in Austria, near the city of Lienz.
The race is started in Lienz by a mountain runner who then makes the hand-off to the team's paraglider at Kühbodentörl. Carrying his whole equipment, the paraglider must run to the first take-off point. After descending by air and landing at Moosalm, the paraglider runs to a second take-off point, descending to the Dolomitenstadion near Lienz. In the stadion now the mountain biker starts his tough task, and finally the team's kayaker finishes the so-called "world's toughest team relay race".
This video shows the air show and the paraglider landings in the stadion of 2021st Dolomitenmann: Paraglider landings in the narrow area of a football ground (soccer field), sourrounded by grandstands and high trees. The landing approach can get very tricky for the paragliding pilots, especially when other pilots are coming in at the same time. Most of the pilots use quite small paragliders and harnesses specially designed for hike & fly. These miniwings are flying much faster than "normal" paragliders and react more dynamically to the pilot's steering inputs. Together with the physical exhaustion through hiking the paraglider pilots have a very tough task to do, and even watching is a real thrill!
