    JoesGE.com is a pretty cool place (depending who you talk to it might be more than pretty cool. But hey, I'm just writing this down so that it says something down here, because that's more professional right?) and if you're still reading along at this point you might as well sit down and grab some popcorn because this is about to trail on about how we are this premiere repair service located in Washington State North of Seattle in basically the "Armpit of the US" near Mt Baker (Mt Baker has the world record for most snowfall at 1,140 inches in a season).
    All this to basically say that we are all addicted to coffee and stay in the warehouse for ridiculously long hours in order to keep up with the demands of the youth for these two-sided head audio devices and speakers that float when you throw them in the ocean or in your bathtub to test if they actually float. On top of that, we do like it when less stuff ends up in landfills so we hoard everything on shelves with wheels so that we pollute less, it just sits in our warehouse losing molecules slowly over time degrading to become smaller and smaller.
    If you are still reading at this point you deserve an award, or a high five, or something because you must either be the most patient person on the planet, or you read blogs frequently. And if the latter is the case, then this whole thing must seem pretty short so let's keep going.
    We do some really interesting things here at JoesGE which are frequently documented in our sometimes weekly sometimes never vlogs.
    Also, if you are wondering how we keep up with the demands of the people so well, its because 90% of the people that work here are all Russian around getting things done most of the time. Yes, that was a pun, you are welcome. We hope you have a pun-filled day, because who couldn't use a few laughs?

    Thanks very much, I followed your instructions step by step and I now have a working Fitbit Charge 3. All I would add is to be very careful when you remove the strap holders at the beginning, as there is a tiny spring in the smaller piece which can easily fall out and get lost!

    I have a Fitbit charge 3 that has a dim screen issue. Very hard to see indoors under regular light and impossible to read the watch outside in daylight. It’s really only visible in the dark.
    The battery seems to be good and lasts 5 to 7 days between charges. Do you think replacing the screen would resolve the issue or should I just scrap the watch. Thanks for your advice.

    I was able to gently pry up and remove the screen without heat. I used an automotive feeler gauge then a very small screw driver. Fyi - One Fitbit I had, had a 001 fault code on the screen. The new screen did not fix it.
    Amazon has a kit. It does not say Fitbit. It includes tools and sealant.

  • @zst8197
    @zst8197 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The display of the Fitbit charge 3 consists of glued layers. The chip, which was also glued between glass sheets, delaminates due to temperature fluctuations.
    It is a completely unnecessary expense to install new display / digitizer parts as long as the design of the display is faulty.
    The now defective Fitbit charge 3 is my second watch, the first one was replaced under warranty by the manufacturer a year and a half ago. This watch is still under warranty, but half a year before the second device's warranty expired, the manufacturer did not replace it again, closing the ticket unresolved.
    I do NOT recommend the manufacturer Fitbit, they sell scraps and evade their warranty obligations.

      I just did this today with mine. Yes, it works. You might have to do it a few times to soften the glue, and just before you attempt to pry it open, concentrate the heat on the side that is opposite the logo (where you'll be lifting the screen). I did manage to scratch up the screen a bit in my attempts, but I figured it was going to be thrown away, so I didn't care too much. Hope this helps!

    My fitbit charge 4 stopped syncing after 3 weeks, I've done all of the usual steps numerous times and it did not help. Tried on different phones same issues, bought another device and this one is fine so far, we'll see after 3 weeks. The other one only syncs when I take it off, after 2 minutes off my wrist it connects no problem, I put it back on and it is stuck in looking and no matter what I do it does not connect until I take it off again. I can only assume that somehow my wrist is now blocking the bluetooth signal. I know this is for fitbit 3 but I was hoping the layout is similar. Do you know where the bluetooth is located, just want to see if my theory makes any sense. I can't return it so I either manage to fix it or I'll throw it away.
