Namib Desert: Sand Dunes at Namib Naukluft National Park incl. Dead vlei, Sossus vlei

- The highest sand dunes in the world in the Namib Desert in Namibia were the highlight and the real reason for our trip to Namibia again. A visit to the Dead vlei at sunset, the flooded Sossus vlei, the bright green Sesriem Canyon, the fascinating Elim Dune, the world-famous Dune 45 - one highlight follows the other when visiting the Namib Desert and time flies by.
Although we spent twice as long as on our last trip to the Namib Naukluft National Park, we haven't discovered everything yet and look forward to returning some day.

...einfach geniale Aufnahmen zu bester Tageszeit, tolle Time laps, der fotografische Blick, passender Schnitt zu tragender Musik - einfach Klasse.
Heute in 3 Wochen bin ich mit meiner Frau am gleichen Ort.
Solche Aufnahmen kriege ich nicht hin weil wir wahrscheinlich zur Mittagszeit hilfeschreiend da herumstolpern und nach Wasser lechtzen.
vielen lieben Dank. Und viel Spass - es lohnt sich jedenfalls dort - bei jeder Tageszeit. Aber ja zur Mittagszeit wird es je nach Jahreszeit heiss bis sehr heiss - und Wasser wird dann gold Wert.

Vielen lieben Dank. Ja das Wetter - zu Beginn war es sehr windig, jedoch noch mit ein paar Wölkchen. Und dann strahlend blau mit wenig Wind. Ein paar mehr Wölkchenwären natürlich nett, aber das ist Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Es war einzigartig und schon unser zweiter Besuch - den werden wir jedoch nie vergessen. :-)

Unglaublich wie schön Ihr diese außergewöhnliche Landschaft mal wieder in Szene gesetzt habt. Und man sieht auch dass Crocs überall gut zu gebrauchen sind.😉 An den Einastz in Sanddünen hatte ich noch gar nicht gedacht. 3:58 und drumherum einfach nur fantastisch. Vielen lieben Dank. Es war auch ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt - und wir haben uns dieses Mal auch viel Zeit genommen. Ja die Crocs sind mein ständiger Begleiter - egal welches Terrain - solange es entsprechende Temperaturen hat - obwohl ich hatte sie mangels Alternativen auch schon mal in einem eiskalten Fluss an. ;-) Das Deadvlei sucht schon ihres gleichen - ein wunderbares surreales Fleckchen Erde - und wir hatten auch noch das Glück es ganz alleine für uns zu haben - ein Vorteil beim Reisen in diesen Zeiten. An absolute great video I chanced upon. We are a grp of photographers and intend to visit Deadvlei. One of our interest is astro photography, ie shooting star trails and milkway using the trees as back drop. In your video also shown a segment of star galzing. How is it possible to stay for the night (some star trails may take 3 hrs or more) since the 2nd gate closes ard 8pm if we understand correctly. Are we allowed to stay inside?
And I like your yellow footwear. Is it more practical than shoe?
Oh thanks for watching and great you like our content. It's an amazing place. The only way to go/stay there for the night is staying at the Sossus Dune Lodge. It's located inside the 2nd gate and you can basically go to the Deadvlei as you are pleased. We scarified dinner and a good sleep for the chance of that experience - but it was totally worth it. :-)
And thanks - i find it very practical. The only thing is that you have no protection of the wildlife living in the sand - but we didn't encounter any.
wow - wir planen gerade unsere Namibia Reise. Lustig, dass ich so oft über deine Videos stolpere. Allerdings bist Du auch abonniert!
Frage: reicht eine Nacht in Dead Valley Lodge oder Sossus Dune Lodge? Oder sollte man 2 Nächte bleiben? Ich glaube es sind die beiden einzigen Lodges IM Park. Falls es 2 Nächte werden sein sollen, was sind deine Gründe?
Ha - freut uns sehr wenn du über unsere Videos stolperst. ;-)
Bzgl. 1 oder 2 Nächte hängt die Antwort sehr stark von den persönlichen Reisevorlieben ab, wie lange man bei den einzelnen Locations bleiben möchte und wie viele Wanderungen man bei welchen Temperaturen unternehmen möchte. Je nach Jahreszeit kann es dort tagsüber extrem heiß werden. Bei unserem 1. Besuch waren wir ebenfalls nur 1 Nacht dort, weshalb wir bei unserem zweiten Besuch 3 Nächte geblieben sind.
Vielleicht weißt du es ohnehin, aber zu den Lodges ist noch zu sagen, dass nur die Sossus Dune Lodge wirklich im Park liegt, da es zwei Gates gibt. Die Dead Valley Lodge befindet sich zwischen diesen beiden Gates und hat noch immer den Vorteil, dass das innere Gate 1h vor Sonnenaufgang öffnet. Wir kennen die Dead Valley Lodge zwar nicht, aber auf den Bildern sieht sie jedenfalls luxuriöser und komfortabler aus. Die Sossus Dune Lodge hat die beste Lage und wird vom NWR betrieben, jedoch austattungsmäßig schwächer (ua. keine Klimaanlage).
