well don't waste it, for one. often teens feel that 9th grade is just a free year to slack off and do whatever, but what they don't tell you is that you'll have to work double hard in the next grade if you waste this year.
Focus on your grades. Do not start any extracurricular activities until your second semester. Start looking at scholarship requirements to help plan your extracurriculars.
