I'm not an amputee, but if some stranger asked me how I go to the toilet or how I manage my period, I wouldn't be all too happy either! ;) It's great that you like to educate people on your disability, but that doesn't mean you're compelled to answer every stupid question they ask.
Just as an idea: Here in Germany we have a member of the green party whose grandparents (!) came from Turkey. His name is Cem Özdemir. Before he was as famous as he is now many people commented on him "Oh, your German is not that bad" - and he answered: "Thank you - I think yours is not that bad neither" (or in the really hard cases "I would like to give that compliment back - but I like to speak the truth"). So maybe when somebody asks the really awkward questions you might possibly copy this idea and ask back: "how do YOU get along on the toilet all by yourself?" or "thank you, I think you are doing a fine job to push your shopping cart as well" - or anything like that.

It's one of the most common ways to offer assistance, and many might say it without thinking (definitely not OK if someone is obviously making a joke of it). I feel like I would be one of the ones to say this without thinking, but probably wouldn't want to point out that it wasn't meant as a joke, only to make the situation more awkward.

Sometimes you don't realise that you're not doing any favours asking amputees if we can help you because they would never learn independence and the assumption that you need help is dam right insulting and annoying. People don't understand that in every scenario, amputees find the will and the way to face difficulties and its that that makes you all just as able as anybody else, its your super power. It's unfair that you all have to keep on going through that. If we proliferate videos like these, share to raise awernesss, which is exactly what you're doing it helps to get these regular frustrations of your chest and feel more at peace. Every little helps and thank you for helping us to learn. You're strong, full of widom with insight and amazing. Im sorry that you have to go through the repetition of these things on a daily basis though. I hope things get better for you.

I'm guilty of some of these, however, it's because I work in a hospital and treat all patients the same way. For instance, I ask patients if I can hand them something. And I always bring a wheelchair right up to a patient. It's not because I don't think they can walk, it's because falls are the #1 cause of patient injuries.
When someone shouts look don’t turn around or acknowledge it just yell “p*ss off” as loud as you can and carry on with what you’re doing. They won’t do it again because they’ll think you’re a little crazy 😜
Whenever I've met an amputee, I don't even think about them not having limbs tbh. It actually disgusts me and offends me people act this way. To me, you're an able body person, you can do anything. I'm sorry you have to go through these things.
