Back in the 1960's our Farmall's were kept in a barn and never had snow on them. Shame it blows in on yours. My dad long deceased always said if you can't keep it under roof, you should not own it. Neighbor left his equipment sit out and it drove my dad crazy. Think it was because he grew up so poor, so he really appreciated his property.
Never had a Farmall, always thought the Cubs looked like fun. Backblades are a lot of fun, used one with a poppin Johnny. Actually played around as much as worked! I've had days where tractor wouldn't start too, we all have. fun video, thanks.
i drove a cub years ago working for an old farmer, my dad had a super "C" but i never drove it drove a 51 johnny working on a ranch years ago. good videos, nice tractors
i finally got a good base to plow on so my driveway won’t be on the lawn come spring. i had an extra long hand crank so you could still start it with the plow on. i’ve never seen anther one.
We have a whack of Farmalls and McCormicks, I am adding front and rear weights to them as I find weights to buy. We remove the CaCl ballast, blast, prime, and paint the rims. Then we say we add weights for traction, but they are more for show and seldom get worked. We collect most colour's and sizes. It's a great hobby. So far I am just building the base, only about 4-6 inches of snow in the yard
When you do the tank on the cubby. No need for a liner .I've very successfully cleaned two very Rusty tanks. All you need to do is go to your local hardware store and purchase a gallon of muriatic acid, dump the whole thing in the tank, Jack up one of your tractors, strap the tank to a tire and let it spin for a half hour or so. Dump it out then power wash the tank out. The inside of the tank will look like new. I've suggested it to another TH-cam channel and he was shocked at how shiny the inside of the tank was.
When I lived in NY and had to plow my 500 ft driveway every day I bought a snow blower for my 901 ford. Best tool for that purpose. The difference up thee is the ground was frozen. Now I live in VA (sold the snow blower) so when I do have to plow my 1/8 mile long driveway and use a back blade. I plow it so the snow bank is on the side of the driveway but still on the driveway so when it melts (which is normally in a week or less) the gravel is still in the driveway and is not on the lawn or field. I cant always do this but if it works out It saves me the cleanup in the spring. Note: I would never put dry gas or any additive in a gas tank. If you think there is water in the tank its better to drain it or at least drain some of it out once the water settles t the bottom. I would also suggest non ethanol fuel. It is a god idea as you mentioned to keep the tank full.
I've never used additives and I run reg pump gas and not been too worried about full tanks here in MI and in 20 years not had any issues with my 520 that was for sure fuel quality issues and my dad was like me no additives and pump gas. My transfer tank has a water separator filter and I keep an eye on my sediment bowl. I use a blade on the 520 and it works nicely. I'm not into blowers as I don't like getting covered and worrying about throwing stones plus extra equipment to purchase and maintain
Just watched this and thought I should tune your tractors up, I’m 13 and I’ve fixed a lot but I’m currently working on bigger stuff and I got a Ih 715 combine running and it starts immediately and I have a Oliver 1650, Oliver 60, Oliver 70, Oliver 77 and a Oliver 88 and they also start immediately in the winter
With the not so great quality of our fuel, refineries add volatiles to the fuel in the winter so that engines start better. So if you have summer fuel it makes for hard starting as things cool down
I remove the little plug in the intake manifold and give a shot of start juice then instal plug and give er a crank. Do that before wearing the batt down.
Excellent Video Geno :) also would start useing black or grey bottles of STP total treatment of fuel injection & carb cleaner in fuel tank plus every time for all tractors, combine , trucks , snowblower, snowmobiles and ATV ! Bet you notice difference fast and start up on cold also hot start in gas plus desiel motors of 2 or 4 cycles! Do each tank full and be shock in any 4 season weather too and fast turn over on motor too! I know may be costly but save from changing fuel filters to lots and fuel stay fresh longer up 1 year!
I’ve learned when moving snow and sludge like that, you end up getting rust on your equipment. Make sure to get any snow or sludge off your machine when you’re done.
I heard before NAPA switched suppliers because of supply issues. When i did some looking most things posted say Wix makes NAPAs gold and platinum filters but posts from earlier this year say Baldwin makes the filters. Im going to say its a combination of both. Its probably just another result of shrinkflation.
Lucky you got the york rake to put all the stone back. I keep saying I want to put skid shoes but come Summer the plow is in the weeds. I like to push backwards and the blade curve pushes the snow but not the gravel but it will build up. Seven foot blade clears the wheel treads.
My JD 520 hasn't seen a charger since I did an alternator conversion plus my 520 will never start with any choke no matter what but she always starts sometime on like 2nd revolution cold. My JD B is needing power help to start. Needing to replace cables bad (bare hot cable) maybe starters weak maybe cause she sat 8 months without being touched
Probably it's because of Just a Few Acres Farm, and all of Pete's Farmall's, that the algorithm lead me here. I like the new tractors, but I have a soft spot for the older one's, even more when they have their original work clothes on. :)
Just a word from an old mechanic. Sounds like the starter is dragging on the C. Might want to take the starter apart and replace the armature bushings. Worked on V Dubs in the 60's and it was a common problem.
I was wondering if you were going to get a little luck and your tractors were going to cooperate we just got snow here in Tn but thank God it didn’t lay except up on the mountains because they close the town if you get a 1/2 inch .
With these last 4 years under this administration, I'm surprised that the filters aren't as small as the one in your weed eater tank, haha. I just went through the same deal as you with my A. Making up my list of overhaul parts to order tomorrow. Hope you have a nice Christmas and your son is safe, Bill
I was distracted by the intro "2024 blizzard" I'm sorry where I'm from we wouldn't even plow that amount of snow. I agree that slush/slip is a problem, but a blizzard....never!
From what I understand you don't want to put one of those paint cats in your gas tank it causes big issues in the future with plugging if your gas tank is leaking don't fix it
If you know you know I can't stand people that use this phrase you mean I have to know what you're talking about to understand your video I think you're just too lazy to explain the problem I was going to subscribe to your channel but no not now because I don't know if you know you know how rude
Worked very well once you got it started! Thank you for sharing my friend!

They're not wimps...these iron tanks were built to withstand an occasional element or 2
Welllll, good to see you back! Been checking daily and was getting worried about you. I do hope all is well with you and yours!
Appreciate that!

They’re great tractors for their size...Cubs
Saw your cat helping out. My grey cat does the same thing. Lol! Good to see you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too!
Hello Gino we had about 5 cm here north shore Lake Erie. Can see Erie pa across the pond . All snow gone now. Enjoyed your video have a great day.
Thanks for watching!
Getting a good winter work out on the Super C, maybe 1 pair rear wheel weights and an expensive pair of front frame weights? Good even plow job.
Cheeks weights are on my agenda
Your going to have one messy driveway to tidy up come spring. Glad I live in NC where we don't have to deal with a lot of snow.
More videos
Nice job on the snow clearing. With the snow one good aspect of it is that it's extra moisture, which is helpful for the crops and the plants. Cheers!
Yep, that's one upside to the white stuff lol
It wouldn't be winter without equipment problems and sliding around while clearing snow 😅 Enjoyed seeing the c in action!
Adds character to the job lol
I’m sure the postal service will appreciate you cleaning that up bud
They better bring me some hot cocoa lol
I am so thankful I live in the South. Snow here one day and gone the next, when it snows at all.
you can have your fireants and snakes and hot humid south , not for me
Lol

Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.
Thanks
It will start right up famous last words.

I just angle the rock rake and pull any back on to the driveway. Wasn't bad this time at all
Super C is the best all around tractor! Yes the rear weights not only add weight but it also adds to the look. Stay warm!
It does help keep it planted on the ground.

Especially where people use salt
We had a farmall super C 54 model it was a great little tractor we done a lot of farming with it. 😊
Right on
I have a new kubota bx1880 I’m am feeling blessed after watching this
🤣
Good workout for the Super C..
No doubt!
G’job FF, she’s a bit schloppy out there😂the C-ski does sound good🇺🇸💥👌🏻

@@FarmallFanatic 😂

Well, FF on the flip side ; i expect we'll see a driveway grading video come spring. 😉 Climates with snow have better soils. The price we pay.
That video already took place lol

How farmers play in the snow!
Exactly 💯

Not as much stone as it looks, but yes
Good ol Super C, they are such handy suckers. I keep telling my wife when I finally buy a Farmall I want a Super C or 200/230
You won’t regret it!

NICE VIDEO YOU CAN KEEP THE SNOW
I hear ya...I'm ready for spring
I would check your spark plugs and also check for moisture in your distributor cap for moisture (on your cub)
Changed the plugs b4 hand...it's since started but ornery as it gets
Turn the blade around. Push with the rounded side of the blade. removes the snow, NOT the stones. I plow a 200yd stone driveway every year.
Interesting
Just a word from an old mechanic. Sounds like the starter is dragging on the C. Might want to take the starter apart and replace the armature bushings. Worked on V Dubs in the 60's and it was a common problem.

Oh that looks cold.
It was
Easy to overhaul!!!
Yea, 4 cylinder lawn mower engine lol
The ole super C getting it done
Definitely
I plowed snow with this type, Cub for 4 years, from age 13 to 17years.
Awesome
Red power fighting ya la ittle bit, but definitely getting the job done!
Indeed
good part of a CUB engine ; supposedly , block so hard , never needs boring unless destruction .
And they're small so easy to work on

I think the snow melted by the time you got that thing going.
Didn't take long
They all get a little stubborn when its cold😊
Especially cubs
We got 2 feet that storm and from today until Saturday morning they are saying another 2 to 3 feet possible. The joys of western ny and lake erie
Yea, north of 90 is in trouble
I hate the rocks in the yard in spring time because of snow.
Rock rake
@@FarmallFanatic yeap and a hand rake
Looks like fun😅(one time) after that not so much

@FarmallFanatic 🤞
Always ensure that transmission is in neutral before cranking, if that tractor starts in gear, it will run you over
I said exactly that
You could have cleaned some of snow off the motor and distributor, it would have helped.
I hear ya...

Is that your driveway or a county rd?
Do you love on family property
Mine
I want some snow I'm in the burbs of Philadelphia and I got a snow plow for my 154 cub low boy which is just as pissey in the cold 😂
A couple of snow falls and then I'm good lol
worst thing to do is line the tank eventually it will come loose. Just put a 2" stand pipe into inlet of sediment bowel
I've done that in the past
Put a little weight up front and she won't walk on you as much, I use 50 lb barbell weights on the cheek
That's a good idea. I might have to try that.

Where are you located to get snow?
Pennsylvania
@FarmallFanatic not much in Minnesota yet.
Remember when I told you not to fluff the gravel! Just saying. The SUPER
Fluff it now or fluff it later
Change the plugs or rebuild the motor
Basically what I said I'm gonna do
Ain’t no gas in it! Uh huh
Wasn’t this supposed to be ready for snow when it was nice out just sayin!😂 Nice to see the C getting it done.
