If you are considering these pass on them. I ordered the Borla ATAK in September of 2021 from my Corvette dealer. They did not arrive until a/4/22. It was so long I decided not install these and had found another product available. Borla with not having even made them yet refused to cancel the order. Grudgingly, I had them installed and low and behold it has an issue that generates a sound like you have a fan belt that is loose. So now I have to order a replacement for 3 to 5 months from now while driving what sounds like a souped up '72 Vega. The candle on top of the icing is that Borla will not pay for the require labor to remove their faulty product and install the new set. They do not have good customer service and will not support you their customer.
Well, I’m on mobile, so I can’t say I’m extremely impressed with the vocal range of the LT2 from here. But the round exhaust tips are worth the price of any of these systems. Much better look in my opinion.
Not a noticeable difference, just some are more twangy and maybe louder, but not necessarily a better sound for all the work and expense. I just leave my 2021 in track mode and will wait until Borla or Corsa come out with a better sounding exhaust, with proper or improved heat shielding. They are the hands down leaders in the field with NPP
So, strictly in terms of sound, catback exhausts are supposed to alter the "type" of sound. Some higher pitched, some lower, some growly, and some raspy. With aftermarket catbacks, you usually get a bit more volume out of the exhausts too. But none of these videos really sound much different than stock. Very subtle changes in sound type. Changing/pairing them with cat deletes, or even high flow cats, then we might see some actual changes in the sound. Combining that with headers, and maybe intake, and they should sound even better. Just wish all of these "exhaust videos" would consider that. It's such a nightmare to try and shop for exhaust systems based on youtube videos lol
There has to be something to the short exhaust flow compared to the front engine Corvettes that make this mid-engine car's exhaust note seem so underwhelming, even with these aftermarket exhausts. And I'm not sure if there will ever be a fix, either. Heck, I'm sure this will elicit some strong reaction from the C8 fans, but my Fiat 500 Abarth has a tougher, better exhaust note then these exhaust systems!
Usually mid engine cars are the loudest and most raw, you just have to get a proper exhaust, like 4 into 1 or 8 into 1 pipes that make it sound crazy, I think they're making more traditional type pipes so it keeps some of the old v8 sound , if it had an exotic exhaust it would sound more flatplane like.
No you are right. There are only slight differences in these exhaust systems. I think catless headers setup would be needed for this car to sound very loud.
Why do most of the V8 coupe/sedans with aftermarket exhausts sound better than this? That's poor considering this thing has an exotic supercar like appearance.
I cant stand the gargling sound at idle sounds like those cheep glass packs in the 70's and 80's. or a old cadi with a whole in the muffler. A rather have a good healthy cam with some flow masters. Thats American muscle!! lol just my opinion. OG
As if the rear end of the Corvette wasn't ugly enough with the Camaro tail lights, somebody put an ironing board on top of it... talk about going from bad to worse.... As far as the exhaust goes, you're just looking for some cop to pull you over and give you a ticket If you want to see what the Corvette should have looked like, just take a look at the Ferrari F8 Tributo.

Why? American V8 exotics have been around for a long tim. Ford GT, Saleen S7, SSC, Mosler, Koenigsegg, Ultima, and Pantera to name a few.

Maybe the Redline headers + catback, but for the money the stock setup isn't that bad. Looking forward to see and hear the Borla system.
