Don’t do a lot of carping any more, never mind on rivers, but that is a stunning film and love Nick’s infectious enthusiasm and down to Earth attitude. Top job 👏🏼
I don’t watch a lot of fishing vids these days but when you see Nick and the Thames pop up that is something worth watching. Makes me really want to accomplish that goal of a mighty river Thames carp myself. Panicle of carp fishing in my eyes 👀. Mega film, well edited 👍👊
Another cracking film only complaint I have is they just aren’t long enough. The money I would pay to spend a day on the bank with this man no nonsense no bull shit carp fishing his fishing brain and the simplicity of his angling is second to none. Easily my biggest idol in the industry a top bloke all round !🎣
Love this man simple yet affecive went back to basics and caught I feel I've been scammed with these jingle jangle rigs and the Korda podcast he done sometime ago put the cat amongst the pigeon's
Great video Nick, love the way the Jack Russel looks at the carp🤣🤣 Its like he's saying " is this my dinner Dad?" Think i know that spot having fished for carp on thames since 1990. I guess what you are saying about the Buzz fishing the Thames is true, i think it's because unlike lskes, you just never know what dize the carp are going to be if you catch one!! I have had fish break me after bending my 3lb rods almost into a full loop and still tsking line!! Plagued by bream and chub but once they stop, it means something big has moved in!! The excitement is intense and is like a drug. Boats going through at 2am in the morning abd actually banging the rod tops!! Shows the sort of people that are allowed to steer, captain or whatever its called!! I have seen one cstp when i was out working near the Thames , that took my breath away, looking straight down on it from a bridge, it was easily in the 4 ft plus and wide as a fat pig, it just glided into deep water and out of my view, that was around 2002 i guess, one of the mysteries of old father Thames. Tight lines Nick👍 Kev
This was brilliant, I’m living on the Thames in my narrow boat. Scouted some really carpy areas. Fantastic River, love it. Last unknown fishery in the country. By the way , I’ve lost two fish that way with captive back leads and I’ve stopped using them. Anyways, really enjoyed this , thanks 🙏
Hi nick , great video as always. Just one question can you explain the logic of a bell on the rod tips , many thanks . Already looking forward to the next one
Yeh thinking the same I can kinda understand on a boat get the rods lower but on the bank seems weird the polish guys use bells on the river I see it a lot but they do not have alarms.
Do you ever get issue with crayfish…as a lifelong Thames angler, I find regular boilies destroyed within a couple of hours after dark…hard baits or artificial for me.
I’ve had this conversation a few times. The venue in this film is on my patch that I’ve fished for 18yrs. I’ve never caught or seen any evidence of signals in this area. Curiously, there’s a lake very close to this area that has been flooded out a few times that is full of them. Rationally they should be in this part, but as said, I’ve never seen any evidence of them.
Some parts are club waters, so you will need their permit. As with any river, lake or pond, you will need a rod licence to be able to fish as well as any permit that is required.
There Is a much better way than the throwing stick in my opinion. And that is the black widow catapult I can hit any range you will with the throwing stick and way more accurate 😊
He could have picked a much easier swim to fish, as that one, for the reasons he highlighted, can be a ficken nightmare. Trust me, even if that area was prebaited, (that’s what you’re suggesting..?), it doesn’t mean you’ll catch. Far from it. I’ve carp this river for many years and have the blanks to prove my point. Anyone who commits to this on film, I take my hat off to them….
Cod balls simple rig - that's simple but VERY effective carp fishing if any one of you guys are struggling with confidence etc that's all you need to remember, DONT get caught up in the nonsense/promotion that you read or hear 😉 carp are just carp no matter where or what lake you are fishing 😉
Bigger back leads dropped directly below the tip would stop him dropping so many fish! I’d be embarrassed to show that on film without sounding out why they were dropped and what to do to ensure it’s not happening again!
@@tom-ir3nv he’s one of the very best but we all may mistakes, we all still have room to learn new tricks! Light back leads is a rookie move, not dropping them directly below the tips is same deal, I’d reset my rod if the backlead slid out of position but that’s just me! Maybe try it! I don’t bother fishing for carp anymore because there’s a high ratio of numpties at it, I enjoyed my time and hope you do too…
and look at you and your impressive fish count and sponsorship, plus showing the lost fish on video proves that he isnt just editing the vids to make it look like he doesnt blank. Nick is a top angler and interesting to watch, if you feel you are better then do your own channel !!!!!!!
@@adamhousden6349 lol it’s already been said when I replied openly! The carp gods giveth and taketh away….brilliantly put nick 👌
I just love nick, no bull 💩 just honest fishing and not pushing anything down your throat big love nick 👍🏻
That buzz never leaves you. Over 30 years on from fishing the tidal Thames, it's the smell and anticipation that I still remember.
Don’t do a lot of carping any more, never mind on rivers, but that is a stunning film and love Nick’s infectious enthusiasm and down to Earth attitude. Top job 👏🏼
Old Bert bless him loves it when the rod rips off 🤠
Great video..
A natural in front of the camera. Very very underrated angler also. Love Nick!
Great film guys, Nicks always worth watching. Nice to see some proper carping, & not 1 big advert. 👍👍
Superb, can’t beat a Nick or Terry on the Thames film!
Superb, Nick is a master. Always enjoy watching Nick & Bert.

captures the essence of carp fishing, its not a competition

Always a great watch from Sticky 👌 Bert the carp dog was straight out and on the rod 🐶👌
Walked that stretch loads of times. That big bend is a hot spot.
Nick, always a pleasure. One of the real real OG enthusiasts!
Great stuff.....exactly how carp fishing should be 🙂
Love seeing people carping the rivers. I hit the trent regular and its unreal compared to commercial fisheries!
Mega angler always love wacthing nick 🫡🇬🇧❤️🎣

Kin hell, barnets on point Nick 😂
Wish there was a river like that up my way, somewhere away from the madness of busy carp lakes
Go on Nicky 😎
You are right about it carp gods
Carp fishing as it should be, simple and exciting and unspoiled by commercialism
awsome video nick.. love bert proper carpdog knows when you got a bite😅🎣

Enjoyed this great insight. Do you need a ticket to fish the Thames .?
Some parts are club waters, so you will need their permit.
As with any river, lake or pond, you will need a rod licence to be able to fish as well as any permit that is required.
Any public access below Staines is free, (only rod license needed). There are a number of free areas above also.
Nick still with wychwood?
Hi nick, what are the rules on 3 rods on the river , thought you was only aloud 2 ???
You can use 3 with a three rod license
@@kennetking1you can use 4 if you have the licences
@@guybaxendaleindeed you can buddy 😊
What trailer is that Nick?
There Is a much better way than the throwing stick in my opinion. And that is the black widow catapult I can hit any range you will with the throwing stick and way more accurate 😊
nah, you are mistaken, I used a black widow pult for years and the stick is better, even a proper boilie pult works better than a widow..!
Not using the gut-busting peanuts anymore!
complete chance... yeah right

Since my filming here it is fished hard!!!!
Why in gods name film then!
Now its fished to Death....thats stupid
I went there 3 times for a walk every time it was full of Eastern Europeans fishing the spots with bbqs burnt out.
