Most of the ladies of that work at the thrift stores are volunteers.. I don't know much about American thrift. I'm guessing that they work for really low hourly wage. I'm really impressed with how patient they are with the process of showing you all the jewelry that you wanted to see. I think they deserve a box of bakery cookies or something😊
I know I'm late to the party, but they deserve an apology. The audience does not need to hear about her talking about an apology, the workers need to hear it. When you offended/disrespected someone, you usually go to them and apologize. You don't go to an audience and tell them you owe someone an apology. It does not matter how much money people make, every soul deserves to be treated with respect, common decency. You know, like how you want to be treated. I did like watching her channel, but if someone cannot apologize to someone they wrong, I don't need to be watching. To each their own. I don't excuse, justify, rationalize my wrong and I cannot do it for others. But I did enjoy reading some of the comments/responses and congratulating her on her bad behavior and thrifty.
Yeah I went to a vintage market (indoor), they’re moving to a better bigger location with more parking! I found an original oil painting 🖼️ & had them call the owner to see if they’d give a %age off - I also wanted another of the pieces for outdoor art. For buy both I got a 10% discount (which covered the taxes!) when I went to check out my other items were 25% off & the girl said no way to the 10% markdown. The mall owner was involved in contacting the owner of the 2 items (oil painting 🖼️ etc). The owner came to my rescue 🛟 & indeed verified the 10% off (when items are in the hundreds of $$ any %age is nice! But the young gal ringing me up had a scowl on her face😳😬👀
I just love that you think everything is beautiful. You have such an artistic eye and I relate. I can go into a room and always pick out the most expensive, special things in the room whether it’s small or big. My mother used to always laugh at me and it’s never changed. I’m just like you, but I love anything artistic and different and special. Thanks for your videos.
Your videos are awesome. I live vicariously through you, because none of the good wills or thrift stores in my town...have Qual jewelry like the ones in New York...not even the estate sales. Love it, love it, Love it!!!❤❤❤❤
This is my favorite thrift shop around and one of the few with jewelry. I was there yesterday and found a spectacular Fiocchi necklace. Fun to know you are in my area of the world. The glass candle holder looks like Kosta Boda.
First I have to say, your channel is my absolute favorite. I have learned so much and you were a huge inspiration in me creating my own channel! And isn't it awesome when you find THAT one thrift store that is just the best ever! For me it is a Salvation Army that is so close to my house. I have found St John, Heidi Daus, KJL, and more! I don't want to tell anyone near me about it..... 😂
Oh my gosh, I have just fallen in love with all things St John (jewelry) I would love your thoughts on collecting it for resale later. I’m a recent subscriber to your wonderful channel. Love your style. (Fan Girl Moment lol) 💕
I, TOO, Have a weakness for porcelain miniature-sized flowers! I have a collection now, and have never regretted it! Mine is petite ones so when I found an antique smaller tabletop curio case, they all fit inside it perfectly! My mid-sized ones are on an etagere. I think I will only buy it if small and excellently priced. But I do love them as mine have remained in the aqua, pink vases with burgundy, yellow, and pink roses and some periwinkle flowers. So they are a theme of sorts. I also loved the Majolica onion dish, and would have purchased it at that crazy great price even tho not marked! But I do collect old Majolica pieces too for casual dining. and display. What I don't get is why you passed up, twice, now the baby blue/periwinkle lovely bead necklace in the lower case. I doubt it but they so remind me of my Victorian blue periwinkle graduated, no clasp CHALCEDONY BEADS! AT least try them! It's my taste! I know your expertise, but I'm not into costume jewelry so much, especially if older. Tho...you are so great at only specializing within your niche!!! love watching you shop and...loved the scarves haul! That's my Girl!!! I am the only one I know who will go thru smelly old musty silk scarves and it pays off magnificently!!!
Wow wow wow! In case you ever come across it again, the mark with the N & a crown above it on the goddess was Capodimonte. (Good to know) About the pretty yellow woven ceramic bowl, I believe the WS outlet stood for Williams-Sonoma. Oh, nobody should get that Globe bar - it’s a repro of an old style, but you can buy it new at … (get this lol) Walmart or Bed, bath & beyond. That piece of WEDGWOOD is so beautiful. My mom used to love Wedgwood & now I’m falling in love with it as I’m going through her things. I cannot believe the range of wonderful things American Thrift has. Gorgeous selection, Dawn. Love exploring with you.
Hi Dawn, another bumper haul! Your silver and crosses necklack has English hallmarks, Panther head for London, Lion passant for sterling, initials makers mark and w is the year, which I havent checked ☺
Leo Ward Blue Bird of Happiness. Very popular item at sales. Kosta Boda Sweden I think that shape also I have seen many sellers sell that it is such fine glass.❤ I just sit here in the heartland and drool when you go to that shop. The jewelry makes me want to drive there! You are so talented at finding the most gorgeous pieces. I am learning so much from you! The bowl with the veggies looked like it was worth a lot more than it came up as i really liked that but shipping would have been high. .
The clear cat was made by the Indiana Glass company. Its worth about $5. I also have a Leo Ward blue bird of happiness from the thrift. "Coast-a-Boda'...gorgeous bowl!
I think that you should’ve got it ….that was such a great find and you could’ve charged double what you paid… just my take on it. Thanks for sharing🙋🏻♀️
Hi Dawn❤️ The onion platter (at 25:45 in your video) is an antique😃 Most likely Victorian😃😃😃 You can tell by the bottom form of the porcelain, the foot, and the lack of a mark😃
I was thinking the same thing. Where do all these pieces come from ? So much that the restocked more while Dawn was shopping in the rest of the store. Good question Phyllis!
I just found your channel and I’m enjoying watching your videos. Could you please switch your camera so that you’re not backwards? It bugs me and it’s easy to do on your camera. That way your seen sitting on the correct side of your car and the signatures are not backwards. Thank you in advance!
You are so humble in asking for an apology Dawn and do sincere. You really are a wonderful person. I'm not even half way thru the video and I'm commenting but i had to say that and the turquoise is to die for girl. Ok you can continue the rest of your video now. I'll come back and edit more than likely..
Love it all but have to say I have never heard such crazy noises in the background. It really sounds like people talking in a very loud voice and screaming sometimes. Very disturbing and distracting.
Hit the like button for Dawn!
Oh my god I love you! First time someone has said that in the chat!
That will be my new thing telling everybody to hit the button! 👍

Check the square glass plate to see if it is Higgins. Similar plates were popular in the 1950s and '60s.

My daily dose of Hudson Vintage,I’m still going through your videos 😊😍😍
You're the best!
Kosta Voda is always on 1st Dibs. You might only get half of that price, but it's still a great piece of art glass. I have collected it for years.

I love that you apologize it takes a big person to admit when they're wrong but are you sure you didn't get charged for it?
I love your videos. It's Steve Yellowhorse and he's a Navaho designer. I own a beautiful ring he did. Great call on that!!
Thanks for the info!

Thanks CITS~ it was gone when I went back!
Wedgewood is very often duplicated. You might want to stick to pieces that are clearly marked Wedgewood
Omg im dying over that wedgwood. I collect those
Just fabulousness! ❤❤❤❤

If you frequent American Thrift weekly, where do they source their jewelry from ?
Quite a weekly assortment.
I was thinking the same thing. Where do all these pieces come from ? So much that the restocked more while Dawn was shopping in the rest of the store. Good question Phyllis!
They buy it, estate sale liquidation most likely~ and they don't put everything out all at once. I'm figuring it out.
