I love these old videos. I still have a Tacx T2200, with no bluetooth, not connected to anything, and these BikeRadar/Cycleops are my favourites. And of all the training sessions in the playlist, this is my favourite. Watch them on my iPad.
I did this today as a soft option. It looked fairly easy, lots of recovery and short intervals. It was nice and tough, a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be. Well structured, good information on screen. I'll be working my way through the whole set but probably using my own music with the no music version. Great job thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this workout! I have a pretty bad calf injury, and am trying to keep in shape cardiovascular-wise without exacerbating the injury. I don't want an easy workout - I want one that doesn't require a lot of standing and jumping around on it. This really fit the bill.
This isn't Tabata, it is HIIT. Try a 5 min gradual warmup to 80-90% max using karvonen then 8 rounds of 20 on, 10 off, at 85 RPM +then 3 min cool down.
Hi! I want to let you know that I took this workout to my local track and I must say it, that session was really intense. I almost fade away by the end of the last sprint. Fortunately, nobody uses the track in the morning, so I can sprint without risking anybody else's health besides mine. It's awfully painful but great. Thank you very much, guys.
I found the music great but what does "change your gear down" mean? Does it mean to increase or decrease difficulty? Everytime they changed gear down they were more sweaty but I couldn't make it any less difficult because there was no more room to change gear as I was on the easiest difficulty lol. So I guess changing gear down is actually making it more difficult by one gear right?
I got confused on the "change down" thing. Of course, it makes more sense that he is talking about difficult gear. The announcer actually says that on the 01:26 mark: "changing down into progressively harder gear".
Cormac Keeney Thanks for the comment Cormac. Low heart rate zones are great for burning fat, but if you're short on time a high intensity session such as Tabata will create a larger calorie defecit compared with the same time in zone 2. Hope that helps.
Thank you very much I listen radio 2 which has more melody more easy listening, yours is to electronic sounding for me . ELO Mr Blue Sky is very up beat and has a good tempo to cycle to.

Nice workout. I like the all out pace interspersed with a lower threshold rate. Nicely done

1 year and 1 month into the quarantine... Wonder if someone is still watch ing these videos after 6 years ...
It's not an Izumi Tabata Protocol. Why are using his name for your own creative?
Great indoor cycling workout. Going to try some of your others. WELL DONE.

+BikeRadar My hrm decided to no longer work. How can this be done by FTP rather than THR?
I'm thinking of doing this fasted in a morning before breakfast.....? Good idea or not?
Can someone explain what is meant by - % THR ( i.e -65% thr) ? Is this heart rate measure? and how to ready this? Thanks
Target heart rate
+Mike Nieman it stands for threshold heart rate, that's your heart rate for a maximal effort of 1 hour. Look up how to calculate it on the internet.
Is it a good idea to do this during winter base training once in a while? Or should I just stick to low intensity at that stage?
Absolutely loved this!
Thank you very much for this video, it helps me to do training at home!
When do we get the next training video? I like them very much, but there are only a few.
Hi, is this a HIIT fat burning session?
Can this be done on a recumbent bike. .?
Muchas Gracias saludos
Really nice video

This is just one of the many training for people want to say "I do Tabata" but Tabata is another thing...
Thanks for this wonderful workout! It kicked my but! Defiantly going to do this at least once a week!
what cycling kit are they rocking?
Good work out...............!!!
A Fat Burner? I always thought to burn fat more efficiently one would work on the low heart rate zone?
