This was one of the best all rounder phones before iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S and note series became the "talk of the town". Typing on this was so nice. I am sure that blackberry bold fans will also appreciate the solid metal construction of this device. BLACKBERRY BOLD was the direct rival to this phone. Although in my opinion Nokia E71 and E72 had much better cameras and Navigation software.
I wish qwerty keyboard devices make a comeback in one form or the other.

I never was able to master all of the configuration necessary for the phone to fully fulfill his destiny, but I sure had fun trying. Many many times. As you say, this Nokia keyboard and the ones in its family were a triumph of the company's legendary research and design.

Good morning Abdulla, many thanks for the new video (quality content as always).
E71 was not my favourite device as I preferred either to go with N95 for its camera or later on - for E7 for even better keyboard experience, but this is definitely outstanding device, same as all Nokia's from late 00'tees.

I loved my E71. It's a shame your battery door is stuck - the clean click of the mechanism is really satisfying. I loved how fast and reliable that phone was. It was a rare day when it did something wrong. You're spot on about 2.5mm too. That, and the inability to charge via USB were the two biggest misses. A few years in, I decided to "upgrade" to the XpressMusic 5800, and it was terrible, with things not working, slow fixes and updates, and regular crashes. Nokia was struggling to stay relevant with changing consumer expectations in the face of dwindling revenue and market share.

Damn the feeling of getting a new Nokia was unparalled.
Graphical boxes, cool accessories, cool system tones, new ringtones with new generations, Latest Asphalt and bounce. Small feature upgrades created waves all because of focus on innovative designs.
Currently companies are focussing on minimalism, its how generation has changed. But Id if Nokia somehow is able to pull a comeback not just like anyother droid but with its OG identity. Surely many would line up.
There is a generation of users waiting to explore more than mundane iphone and galaxies.

I used a Nokia 2700 which was my first camera phone from 2010 till 2016. Still miss using it.
There is something about using small handy keypad mobile phones which will always be missing in today's big bulky xl pro max bla bla bla phones

I was using Palm Treo 650 back then, and I'd say, it had better keyboard than Nokia E71. The main difference between the two of course was Palm OS. While it offered more battery life, it also had a lot less apps and features. Although, Nokia also had fun time with their Simbian OS. Nonetheless, I consider my Palm Treo the best communicator out of all I have been using.
Nokias were all flashy and very expensive, while offering questionable solutions, like these stainless steel plates which just wasn't sturdy enough to last. Not only they collected dents very easily, they would often be malformed near the edges and started to get caught in clothing. Yes, they'd look premium out of the box, if you don't use it, like, at all. But after a few months of regular use it's all gone.
And yeah, despite being 4 years older than E71, Palm offered better screen resolution, so I really had hard time seeing why would I want to buy E71 to replace it.
