My favorite dlc was Stones Unturned. It added something that imo was lacking in the game, a jungle fight and also John and Lincoln fighting together which we don't see it in the final game. My second favorite DLC gotta be Faster Baby, but I prefer more the Sign of times weaponry they give to us. Also it would have been cool if you show an exploration video of Stones Unturned island and locations. There is plenty of things that I wish I would go but I couldn't.

You will notice some of them looks a lot like some Vietnamese Hut. And also there is a submarine and a ship over there. Would've been cool to see it.
I have a feeling Mafia IV is being worked on as we speak, and that an announcement could drop late next year. I'm really interested in how it will be connected to Mafia III.
Vito is for sure fan favorite of the series, it is really sad how all the good content is cut and never gonna appear. I wonder one day in the future we get another Mafia which it can be as a prequel how Vito got to New Bordeaux or something like that, but at the same time I wish(all of us want that) to see what actually happen to Joe.

Mafia III and Resident Evil 5 are the best examples of games that failed to live up to the high expectations set by their predecessors because of poor decision-making by the developers and or publishers.
The developers had nothing to do with it tbh they were tryna expand with a lot of great ideas but take 2 was tryna rush them out for certain amount of time I still mafia 3 but it definitely has its flaws.

It was just Take 2 messing up with deadlines. A lot of things was cut and it made both Mafia 2 and 3 feeling sometimes very stratched from what would they have become to be.

My ideal of a Mafia game would be a Mafia game without any cut content. Heck Mafia 2 got half of his content cut, prologue cut, weapons cut, almost everything. Mafia 3 got vietnam cut, bugs and the initial Cuba project also cut. Every now and then you can hear some characters saying about Cuban missile crisis, which it made think that the game will sometime have an Cuban section. I just hope that this none of the developers cuts the major events of this game because of deadlines, they are very important to keep immersive in this world.
I really want the next game (if they make one) to feel as real as Mafia II and the remake, to feel like you are that guy struggling who wakes up in the morning and goes on with his day, loved that Mafia II feel that was in the remake, especially in classic difficulty it felt like you really were a newbie to the crime world in dangerous situations
I'm really hoping that in mafia 4, Vito and Joe will re-unite, and its very possible, think about it. Many people think that the canon ending for mafia 3 is Lincoln leaving and Vito gaining control of the city, that would draw attention to Vito, making it easier for Joe to track him down. I think its a great way to unite one of the greatest duo's in gaming history, and it would be in a way that makes sense.

Cars from a different period might be just a placeholder. First you map the paths for cars, later you replace main game cars with DLC cars that fit the time period. But the size of it seems to be to be a simple cutscene, seems like playable area, thats for sure. Unless you know, they just ported a chunk from a previous game?
I am so invested in Mafia 3 right now that I've stopped playing R* titles and Sniper Elite 5 (at the halfway point). I can certainly see the complaints...but I cant get over how expansive the map is and just how much there is to explore. The characters are great and with all the DLC's installed I can hardly decide what move to make next. Its baffling to me how this title wasnt the biggest success since GTA5. I could just imagine an online freemode on that huge map.
I kinda feel bad for Hanger 13. It looks like from Mafia 3 main campaign and the three DLCs that there was a type of game they wanted to build, just not in the Mafia franchise. Rhapsody and Voltron are likely want they envisioned, but those two were cancelled and they were forced back into the Mafia franchise to keep themselves afloat.

I'd love a Vito DLC but I wouldn't want Joe to come back. The ending of Mafia 2 was a masterpiece and such an emotional ending. The reality of it and how you don't always get a happy ending after everything. I love Joe too but bringing him back would be lame. His arc is finished.
all 3 expansions were garbage . most of the people wanted to know more about vito and joe , it may be the main reason people bought mafia 3. As you said yes,i really liked DLCs of mafia 3,and to me the best one was sign of times dlc,which had new mechanics for assassinate our enemies.It had brutal and also emotional story.And just like in the sign of times stones unturned was also great.We saw a great map with a good story.But I can't say same for the Faster Baby Dlc.when i play it ,i realize I'm not playing a Mafia game.I really thought it was something like Gta-sa which might be good for rockstar but not for 2k/H13 Mafia games.I really loved Mafia 3 game and story of Lincoln Clay , also think the game is overhated,It has unique things just like in other Mafia games but if we had a better mission design and more story/mafioso based Empire Bay Dlc which we play as Vito would be really awesome.Mafia 3 had a really great potential and could be the best Mafia game in the trilogy but...You know the rest.
I would love to play as a Vito one last time in a DLC and would love to see what 1960s Empire Bay would look like. I hope in Mafia IV, they should include a Vito DLC.
I still enjoy this game's setting, story and gameplay mechanically, sure it was rushed and repetitive but I see the potential it had to be even better.
It was really a shame to cancel the DLC on Vito; they could have explored more of his story after Mafia 2 maybe. I hope that in the future they will do this before the release of Mafia IV.
I wonder why Take Two or Hangar 13 would cancel this. Fans love Vito and Joe and appreciate the city of Empire Bay. It would’ve been very unique if Mafia III’s DLCs took you to different places you could come and go through as you please.

With the release of Mafia Trilogy and Mafia III Definitive Editon, we had the best chance of receiving this dlc, unfortunately that didn't happen... who knows, in a likely Mafia IV we will have a dlc, perhaps Stand Alone, by Vito and Joe? You never know, right?
The thing I truly hate the most is that this outfit was never put or even made it into the game wardrobe in Mafia 3 this suit here at 4:07 to 4:16 I am honestly very surprised to see it in this video because there’s was no real actual missions or any types of DLC when it comes to getting/unlocking it in any way😂 when you search it up on TH-cam you only see him with the hat on with no hair and the only time you see this outfit is at the very end of the documentary if you choose to stay in New Orleans and rule together when Lincoln is seen getting out of his car after that never again until now I seen this outfit once again😂
Honestly of all the DLCs we did get Stones unturned is just the most fun dlc. Sign of the times is pretty good and then faster baby is straight garbage. Maybe slightly redeemable because of the cool weed business gameplay. If you got rid of all of these and just did one big vito DLC though I'd give these up in a heartbeat. Though would be interesting trying to explain how vito is able to convince Leo to let him back into empire Bay and also back with joe.

It doesn't make a bad game also, Mafia 3 is my favorite entries out of them. The gameplay it is satisfying, characters are so great, story are so damn good, the setting is the most interesting of them all. I would just they didn't scrapped almost half of the game though.

The game should be amazing, it has the story, it has the setting, it has the incredible soundtrack. But the core experience feels so... underwhelming, thanks to the incredibly repetitive mission structure, glitches & bugs and braindead AI. It's just such a shame, because Mafia III had such amazing concepts, but much like Mafia II, it got cut in half.

Donovan was the most irritating smuck of all of the characters, presented as a self-righteous degenerate that doesn't get the bigger picture in anything, just a hypocritical moron. Sal Marcano wasn't even presented as a pure Don, more like a racist white supremacist politician or some shit, Burke and Vito were just there for the sake of filling up the space as lieutenants. The only character that I felt for besides Father James was literally Cassandra because of her motives to do anything for "her" people because of her tragic backstory (which is very weird because everyone hates Cassandra).
Damn more cut DLC content for mafia 3 I think it would’ve been amazing to have a Vito DLC much as I love mafia 3 that would’ve been amazing sadly they didn’t run through with it I think they had a lot going for them or maybe certain disagreements in the studio which is why they didn’t use it but overall let’s just hope mafia 4 is coming.
I wish they use a little bit of money and just whipped together a small dlc. Actually mafia 4 is taking long because the studios 2 groups that make up the studio argued about making continued content for mafia 3 or making mafia 4 . So maybe just maybe they will make it sometime.
I agree with the conclusion of this video, that 3 DLCs are not bad, but it doesn't FEEL like a mafia game to me (and sometimes i feel that way with Mafia III main game, too). Hopefully Mafia IV will somehow revive the feeling of being a mafia, doing mafia things and stuffs like that

I have a funny feeling the three DLC's we got for Mafia III were initially subquests cut from the game, just like the three DLC's for Mafia II are all cut missions and subquests that were initially IN THE GAME. I still think we got the short end of the stick. "Faster Baby" feels like it must've been much longer. Sheriff Beaumont is very angry with Lincoln and seems to know who he is the first time he sees Lincoln. But, to us the player - that's the first time we EVER see Lincoln and Beaumont speak to each other. Add in the fact Sinclair Parish feels "tacked-on" and just feels strange and unfinished and empty. I honestly believe there was more to it. The other DLC's take nearly four-times as long to complete. I hope Mafia IV gets back to us being a Mafioso. Maybe a real rags-to-riches story like Vito's was supposed to be. Empire building in Vegas with properties to buy, protect and manage. Missions, Side Quests.... they have all the elements now. They know what NOT to do! DON'T hack a game to pieces and release a half-finished product.

Scarface had something similar, PLUS businesses getting attacked if you were too far away or didn't equip them properly. So, it's been done before. We've just never had a single, all-encompassing game before. If Hangar 13 could pull it off - which I think they could - they'd have game of the year! They obviously have the talent.... they just need to learn NOT to rush things. Mafia 2 was hacked to pieces and rushed.... Mafia 3's quality suffered because it was rushed. @@TheSultan1470 No No, I get that. I was just citing examples of where it's been done before. I would imagine coding something like that would be a nightmare because of the countless variables. Get one variable wrong and the whole damn thing doesn't work. But the ground work is there - these parts of other games were heralded as enjoyable - it would be amazing to get ONE game that incorporates the nuances of being a mafioso. It could also help to explain why so many of them are driven to paranoia and strange or extreme outbreaks of violence. I don't know about you, but for all it's fanfare... I've found GTA to be worse and more boring/more repetitive than Mafia III. I think what the creators of Mafia III neglected to mention is that there's multiple entrances / points of ingress to some of the businesses you have to defeat. There's many ways to replay the game - they just depend on the users imagination.

From everything I’ve heard Hangar 13 has stopped working on the OP they chose over working on Mafia IV and from everything I’ve heard they have switched their attention to working on Mafia IV!
Mafia 3 was a fair enough game in and of itself. It just doesn’t feel like a continuation of the two that came before it gameplay wise. Also the single mission type of clearing out a racket and the occasional chase mission got old real fast. I know many friends who purchased the game but ended up not finishing it because they got so bored of it and I don’t blame them. Hopefully the next Mafia will be truer to the franchise roots.
Nah, it was actually in the pre-release map of RDR2. But then Mafia 3 got released and guess what? The New Orleans' based city was also called New Bordeaux, so Rockstar devs decided to change the name. Also, fun fact, Blackwater might be based on St. Louis, Missouri
I honestly liked Mafia 3 the way it is because it's something different from the first two games where instead of being a part of a Mafia you fight against them they obviously took a page from the gta series where in most games you fight against the Mafia in those games the only two games where you do play as a mobster is in vice city before they betray you and in liberty city stories where in the other you play as other types of criminals

What if the next game makes the ending where Lincoln monopolizes the US mafia canon and it follows Vito and Joe working along him as Lincolns mafia family becomes the biggest in the US?
Mafia 3 is not a mafia game, but still it's a good play.

I'd love a Vito DLC but I wouldn't want Joe to come back. The ending of Mafia 2 was a masterpiece and such an emotional ending. The reality of it and how you don't always get a happy ending after everything. I love Joe too but bringing him back would be lame. His arc is finished.

all 3 expansions were garbage . most of the people wanted to know more about vito and joe , it may be the main reason people bought mafia 3. Mafia 2 is the only game i truly cherish and play every Christmas . 2K literally butchered mafia 2 and 3 . they even had an oppurtunity to fix mafia 2 while relaunching it !

As you said yes,i really liked DLCs of mafia 3,and to me the best one was sign of times dlc,which had new mechanics for assassinate our enemies.It had brutal and also emotional story.And just like in the sign of times stones unturned was also great.We saw a great map with a good story.But I can't say same for the Faster Baby Dlc.when i play it ,i realize I'm not playing a Mafia game.I really thought it was something like Gta-sa which might be good for rockstar but not for 2k/H13 Mafia games.I really loved Mafia 3 game and story of Lincoln Clay , also think the game is overhated,It has unique things just like in other Mafia games but if we had a better mission design and more story/mafioso based Empire Bay Dlc which we play as Vito would be really awesome.Mafia 3 had a really great potential and could be the best Mafia game in the trilogy but...You know the rest.
That would have been an amazing what if.
But one can dream.
I would love to play as a Vito one last time in a DLC and would love to see what 1960s Empire Bay would look like. I hope in Mafia IV, they should include a Vito DLC.

I still enjoy this game's setting, story and gameplay mechanically, sure it was rushed and repetitive but I see the potential it had to be even better.

The map has a lot on it just to be not taken seriously. They really need to add this as an expansion on Mafia 3. A lot of people would get it.
It was really a shame to cancel the DLC on Vito; they could have explored more of his story after Mafia 2 maybe. I hope that in the future they will do this before the release of Mafia IV.

I wonder why Take Two or Hangar 13 would cancel this. Fans love Vito and Joe and appreciate the city of Empire Bay. It would’ve been very unique if Mafia III’s DLCs took you to different places you could come and go through as you please.

With the release of Mafia Trilogy and Mafia III Definitive Editon, we had the best chance of receiving this dlc, unfortunately that didn't happen... who knows, in a likely Mafia IV we will have a dlc, perhaps Stand Alone, by Vito and Joe? You never know, right?
The thing I truly hate the most is that this outfit was never put or even made it into the game wardrobe in Mafia 3 this suit here at 4:07 to 4:16 I am honestly very surprised to see it in this video because there’s was no real actual missions or any types of DLC when it comes to getting/unlocking it in any way😂 when you search it up on TH-cam you only see him with the hat on with no hair and the only time you see this outfit is at the very end of the documentary if you choose to stay in New Orleans and rule together when Lincoln is seen getting out of his car after that never again until now I seen this outfit once again😂
Honestly of all the DLCs we did get Stones unturned is just the most fun dlc. Sign of the times is pretty good and then faster baby is straight garbage. Maybe slightly redeemable because of the cool weed business gameplay. If you got rid of all of these and just did one big vito DLC though I'd give these up in a heartbeat. Though would be interesting trying to explain how vito is able to convince Leo to let him back into empire Bay and also back with joe.

It doesn't make a bad game also, Mafia 3 is my favorite entries out of them. The gameplay it is satisfying, characters are so great, story are so damn good, the setting is the most interesting of them all. I would just they didn't scrapped almost half of the game though.

The game should be amazing, it has the story, it has the setting, it has the incredible soundtrack. But the core experience feels so... underwhelming, thanks to the incredibly repetitive mission structure, glitches & bugs and braindead AI.
It's just such a shame, because Mafia III had such amazing concepts, but much like Mafia II, it got cut in half.

I am sorry but the only character that I actually connected to was Father James and literally no one else, others was just so damn cringe, useless and just threw in the game for the sake of being there. Half of the characters were so freaking annoying as hell, like I couldn't feel sympathy for any of them besides Father James, not even Lincoln.

@@DJ_Thanos No? But him as a protagonist compared to the likes of Vito or Tommy, I couldn't connect to Lincoln as a character at all. Sure I liked his motive about him getting his revenge but that's about it, revenge and nothing else. Donovan was the most irritating smuck of all of the characters, presented as a self-righteous degenerate that doesn't get the bigger picture in anything, just a hypocritical moron. Sal Marcano wasn't even presented as a pure Don, more like a racist white supremacist politician or some shit, Burke and Vito were just there for the sake of filling up the space as lieutenants. The only character that I felt for besides Father James was literally Cassandra because of her motives to do anything for "her" people because of her tragic backstory (which is very weird because everyone hates Cassandra).
Damn more cut DLC content for mafia 3 I think it would’ve been amazing to have a Vito DLC much as I love mafia 3 that would’ve been amazing sadly they didn’t run through with it I think they had a lot going for them or maybe certain disagreements in the studio which is why they didn’t use it but overall let’s just hope mafia 4 is coming.

Actually mafia 4 is taking long because the studios 2 groups that make up the studio argued about making continued content for mafia 3 or making mafia 4 .

I agree with the conclusion of this video, that 3 DLCs are not bad, but it doesn't FEEL like a mafia game to me (and sometimes i feel that way with Mafia III main game, too). Hopefully Mafia IV will somehow revive the feeling of being a mafia, doing mafia things and stuffs like that

well, the traffic can easily be explained as being placeholder cars. not that concrete if you ask me.
I have a funny feeling the three DLC's we got for Mafia III were initially subquests cut from the game, just like the three DLC's for Mafia II are all cut missions and subquests that were initially IN THE GAME. I still think we got the short end of the stick. "Faster Baby" feels like it must've been much longer. Sheriff Beaumont is very angry with Lincoln and seems to know who he is the first time he sees Lincoln. But, to us the player - that's the first time we EVER see Lincoln and Beaumont speak to each other. Add in the fact Sinclair Parish feels "tacked-on" and just feels strange and unfinished and empty. I honestly believe there was more to it. The other DLC's take nearly four-times as long to complete.
I hope Mafia IV gets back to us being a Mafioso. Maybe a real rags-to-riches story like Vito's was supposed to be. Empire building in Vegas with properties to buy, protect and manage. Missions, Side Quests.... they have all the elements now. They know what NOT to do! DON'T hack a game to pieces and release a half-finished product.
@@TheSultan1470 I dunno.... The Godfather game did it and that included a whole sub-section that gave you more money depending on how much you intimidated the shop owner! Scarface had something similar, PLUS businesses getting attacked if you were too far away or didn't equip them properly.
So, it's been done before. We've just never had a single, all-encompassing game before. If Hangar 13 could pull it off - which I think they could - they'd have game of the year!
They obviously have the talent.... they just need to learn NOT to rush things. Mafia 2 was hacked to pieces and rushed.... Mafia 3's quality suffered because it was rushed. Obviously, they need to stop that.
@@TheSultan1470 No No, I get that. I was just citing examples of where it's been done before. I would imagine coding something like that would be a nightmare because of the countless variables. Get one variable wrong and the whole damn thing doesn't work.
But the ground work is there - these parts of other games were heralded as enjoyable - it would be amazing to get ONE game that incorporates the nuances of being a mafioso. It could also help to explain why so many of them are driven to paranoia and strange or extreme outbreaks of violence.
I don't know about you, but for all it's fanfare... I've found GTA to be worse and more boring/more repetitive than Mafia III.
I think what the creators of Mafia III neglected to mention is that there's multiple entrances / points of ingress to some of the businesses you have to defeat. There's many ways to replay the game - they just depend on the users imagination.
Yah know, I believe this cause like…the cigarette cards you collected in the mafia remastered, showed a lot of old mafia characters before them coming up…but thats mafia definitive edition but how like a lot of mafia 2 characters showed…I really could of seen dlc’s coming to either game

Fantastic video. The third map is most interesting, cos I had joes adventures and saw the whole part of that map and I loved the mission driving on the ice, BUT this map you show looks like it has more in it.

Mafia 3 was a fair enough game in and of itself. It just doesn’t feel like a continuation of the two that came before it gameplay wise. Also the single mission type of clearing out a racket and the occasional chase mission got old real fast. I know many friends who purchased the game but ended up not finishing it because they got so bored of it and I don’t blame them. Hopefully the next Mafia will be truer to the franchise roots.

Nah, it was actually in the pre-release map of RDR2. But then Mafia 3 got released and guess what? The New Orleans' based city was also called New Bordeaux, so Rockstar devs decided to change the name. Also, fun fact, Blackwater might be based on St. Louis, Missouri
I've played Mafia more times than I can count.. I've played mafia 2 at least 3 times.. I still haven't gotten past 3 hours in mafia 3

I honestly liked Mafia 3 the way it is because it's something different from the first two games where instead of being a part of a Mafia you fight against them they obviously took a page from the gta series where in most games you fight against the Mafia in those games the only two games where you do play as a mobster is in vice city before they betray you and in liberty city stories where in the other you play as other types of criminals
